For the application of environment conscious glass-fertilizer, K2O-CaO-P2O5 glasses were fabricated by melt-quenching process, and the dissolution properties of these glasses were investigated using pH meter and ICP analyzer. Additionally, the fertilizer effects on rice culture were evaluated. The pH values depended on the glass compositions, and the ICP analysis confirmed that the dissolution amount was inversely proportional to the change of the K2O/P2O5 ratio, which was a main factor in controlling chemical durability, and which could be controlled by mother glass composition. The results of their application to rice plants indicated that the growth and quantity were similar to those used in chemical fertilizer. Therefore, the phosphate glasses are expected to provide the slow-releasing nutrient fertilizers that are easy to produce, environmentally safe, and widely applicable.

SummaryPreparations were made of rabbit liver globulin by the method of Jaques for heparinase and their effect on heparin studied. The results confirmed the observations of a progressive loss of anticoagulant activity with globulin in 0.9% saline, of a loss of metachromatic activity after phenol extraction and the reversal of the latter by alkali. The latter observations were due to the solubility in phenol of heparin on combination with protein. With suitable preparations, a decrease in anticoagulant activity without decrease in metachromatic activity was observed, i.e. conversion of heparin to uroheparin. Loss of heparin due to combination with protein and resulting precipitation, solubility in phenol, etc. followed a protein pH-dissociation curve. Loss of heparin anticoagulant activity due to heparinase was maximal at pH 5.4. No loss of heparin occurred at pH values more acid than 5 or more alkaline than 7.

A study was conducted to evaluate the water quality parameters of pond water at Mymensingh Urban region. The water samples were collected from 30 ponds located at Mymensingh Urban Region during August to October 2010. The chemical analyses of water samples included pH, EC, Na, K, Ca, S, Mn and As were done by standard methods. The chemical properties in pond water were found pH 6.68 to 7.14, EC 227 to 700 ?Scm-1, Na 15.57 to 36.00 ppm, K 3.83 to 16.16 ppm, Ca 2.01 to 7.29 ppm, S 1.61 to 4.67 ppm, Mn 0.33 to 0.684 ppm and As 0.0011 to 0.0059 ppm. The pH values of water samples revealed that water samples were acidic to slightly alkaline in nature. The EC value revealed that water samples were medium salinity except one sample and also good for irrigation. According to drinking water standard Mn toxicity was detected in pond water. Considering Na, Ca and S ions pond water was safe for irrigation and aquaculture. In case of K ion, all the samples were suitable for irrigation but unsuitable for aquaculture.J. Environ. Bulang districts Batam Islands of  Riau province (Riau Islands), its consists of many islands with as well as having the potential diversity of coastal marine life in particular kinds of macro algae or seaweed. Conducted research aimed to determine the structure of macro- algal communities in the intertidal zone islands. The results of the identification of algal species found 16 species are: the Order of Chlorophyceae as 6 spesies; Order Phaeophyceae as 2 spesies; and Order Rhodophyceae as 8 spesies. The community structure at the five stations showed the highest values were found in the island of dominance Cicir (D ' = 0.79) , uniformity index values on Tengah Island (E ' = 0.99) , while the island Balak had the highest diversity index (H ' = 0.88) , with the abundance patterns of population structure on the island is pretty good Central . Results of correlation analysis of regression between IVI types of algae with the conditions of environmental quality suggests that there is a significance (Fhit ˃ F table and the value of r = > 90 %) between IVI algae Halimeda sp and Cryptarachne polyglandulosa at each station with a temperature parameter surface (⁰C) , depth temperature (⁰C) and pH values. Keywords : Algae, Community Structure, Important Value Index.

Two new heterocyclic Organmercury compounds   were prepared from the reaction of Sulfamethaxazole and Sulfadiazine with 4-acetaminophenol as a coupler and separated as solids with characteristic colors. these compounds were characterized by F.T.IR-spectroscopy 1H-NMR , Micro-elemental Analysis and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques . The work involves a study of acid – base properties compounds at different pH values, the ionization and protonation constants were calculated. The thermal behavior of these two compounds   were investigated on the basis of thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential thermogravimetric (DTG) analyses, Thermal decomposition of these compounds is multi-stage processes.

Purpose: To develop glibenclamide-nicotinamide cocrystals with the solvent evaporation method and evaluate their solubility and dissolution properties. Methods: Cocrystals of glibenclamide-nicotinamide (1:2) were prepared with the solvent evaporation method. The prediction of interactive cocrystals was observed using in silico method. The solubility and dissolution were performed as evaluation of cocrystals. The cocrystals also were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared spectrophotometry, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). Result: The solubility and dissolution profile of glibenclamide-nicotinamide cocrystal (1:2) increased significantly compared to pure glibenclamide as well as its physical mixture. Characterization of cocrystal glibenclamide-nicotinamide (1:2) including infrared Fourier transform, DSC, and PXRD, indicated the formation of a new solid crystal phase differing from glibenclamide and nicotinamide. Conclusion: The confirmation of cocrystal glibenclamide-nicotinamide (1:2) indicated the formation of new solid crystalline phases that differ from pure glibenclamide and its physical mixture

Abstract: pH is one of the most important parameters characterizing the state of water systems. The arithmetic mean values of samples are often used when averaging serial pH measurements in water bodies, as is usually done for other characteristics of the state of the natural environment (temperature, salinity, oxygen concentrations, suspended solids, etc.). However, in this case such an operation is illegal, since the addition of logarithms, which by definition are pH, is non-additive. The authors conducted a study to determine the extent to which pH variability in natural objects such an operation would not distort the results. For this, several samples of the pH index were generated in various ranges of its theoretically possible and natural variability. It was established that with pH variability of less than a unit characteristic of marine pH values, the statistical characteristics of the indicator and [H+ ] concentrations differ slightly, and the medians of the samples coincide. It is concluded that with such ranges characteristic of the waters of the oceans, there is no need to recalculate previously obtained results. However, for the estuaries of rivers flowing into tidal seas, as shown by field measurements, the pH variability in the mixing zone of sea and river waters is several times higher. Similar situations may occur when heavy precipitation falls on the water surface, as well as during floods. In these cases, a simple averaging of the pH values will no longer be correct. In such cases, the use of other averaging algorithms and the choice of stable statistical characteristics are required.
