Core-Oblique Distinction and Nominalizer Choice in Japanese and Korean

It has been suggested that a core–oblique distinction is not manifested in the grammatical structures of languages like Japanese and Korean, wherein both core and oblique arguments are marked by so-called case-marking particles. This study argues, based on elicitation data from Japanese and Korean as well as Japanese questionnaire data, that a core–oblique distinction in these languages is indeed reflected in the differing selection of sentential nominalizers to mark core and oblique nominalized clauses. Furthermore, this study presents an explanation for the differing selectional patterns of core and oblique marking sentential nominalizers from the viewpoints of markedness and information processing.

Understanding to fill the tax return, annual report tax return individual is still lacking, many taxpayers did not understand how to fill out an annual tax return, especially the tax year 2014. The objective was to investigate the influence of socialization Tax, Tax Penalties and Tax e-filing of the tax return reporting annual individual taxpayer. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method and selection of non-random manner convenience. The primary data collection method used is survey method using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using multiple linear analysis, descriptive analysis and to test hypotheses.

The Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) Department at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) requires undergraduate students to take two courses in human factors, with both courses possessing a laboratory requirement. In an effort to consolidate support materials for the undergraduate human factors courses, a supplemental workbook was developed. The workbook provides both the students and instructors with a varied selection of laboratory exercises and homework problems which are directly relevant to the material being covered in the lectures and laboratories. The workbook includes specific guidelines for the required laboratory format, a selection of laboratory exercises and homework problems, and appendices which include supplemental material related to the laboratory exercises and a large set of human factors references. The workbook has been very beneficial for instructors, for it provides an organized set of information which directly supports both the lecture and laboratory material. Questionnaire data obtained from students identified good features of the workbook, as well as areas which needed improvement.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online learning using online media during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive quantitative study that focuses on evaluating learning using online media. The study population was all students of SMK Al Huda Jakarta who were taught using online methods. The data collection instrument used an online learning questionnaire. Data analysis using descriptive statistics. The results showed that students rated learning using online media as effective (60%), most of them rated it as ineffective (23%), and rated it as normal (17%). To improve the quality of online mathematics learning during the Covid-19 pandemic, educators must fulfill the suggestions of respondents, namely: (1) learning is carried out via video calls; (2) providing brief learning materials; (3) minimize sending material in the form of heavy videos to save quota; (4) the selection of material in the video must be based on language criteria that are easy to understand; (5) continue to provide material prior to the assignment; (6) giving varied and different questions for each student; (7) assignment must include the way it works; (8) assign assignments according to the lesson schedule; (9) remind students if there is a task given; and (10) reducing tasks.

This study assesses the association between cognitive schemas of justification of violence, grandiosity and abuse, and reactive and proactive aggressive behavior, and whether this association is mediated by social information processing (SIP). For this purpose, a sample of 1371 adolescents (638 girls and 580 boys) completed measures of cognitive schemas, SIP, and Reactive-Proactive Aggression. The results showed that the cognitive schemas of justification of violence and narcissism are more relevant for proactive aggression, whereas the abuse schema is more relevant for reactive aggression. SIP mediated particularly the association between cognitive schemas and reactive aggression. Each cognitive schema was shown to be associated with some particular SIP component: justification of violence and abuse with the component of interpretation, and narcissism with the experience of anger. Moreover, the abuse schema was negatively associated with the selection of aggressive responses. Lastly, a general model of paths between schemas, SIP, and aggression was found to be quite similar for boys and girls, although the former scored higher in proactive aggression, partly because of their higher scores in the justification of violence and narcissism schemas.

Family characteristics influence children's behavioral development, but so do variations in schools, neighborhoods, and communities. We documented extrafamilial environmental effects by fitting maximum likelihood models to questionnaire data collected from double dyads consisting of twins and their classmate controls. The classmate controls in each double dyad were genetic strangers living in separate households, but they shared school, neighborhood, and community environments with their yoked twin pair and with one another. At ages 11 to 12, the control classmates showed significant similarities in religious practices and smoking and drinking patterns, demonstrating that environmental influences outside the family affect children's behavioral development. Familial self-selection of residential neighborhoods may have contributed to these results, but direct effects of variation across communities, neighborhoods, and schools cannot be dismissed, and such effects warrant further study.

Verbal reports elicited from accident investigators and motion pictures of the investigators' activities during 16 investigations of light aircraft accidents were used as the empirical basis for a computer model of the aircraft accident investigator. The model simulates the major processes apparent in the investigators' reports, including the selection of aircraft and terrain features to be observed and the generating and testing of kinematics hypotheses. The computer program accepts a description of aircraft damage and gouge marks and generates a series of kinematics hypotheses. The effects of variations in investigator parameters on the outputs of the model were studied in a series of 40 simulation runs. A preliminary comparison was made between the output of the model and the conclusions of a human investigator working with the same data.
