In this paper, research is done in the influence of different terrain and traffic conditions on road sections on the driver?s driving performances, i.e. on the car energy efficiency and CO2 emission. A methodology aimed at determining to which extent unfavorable traffic and/or terrain conditions on a road section contribute to the driver?s worse driving performances, and also to determine when the driver?s aggressive driving style is responsible for greater fuel consumption and greater CO2 emission is proposed. In order to apply the proposed methodology, a research study was carried out in a cargo transportation company and 12 drives who drove the same vehicle on five different road sections were selected. As many as 284 014 of the instances of the data about the defined parameters of the road section and the driver?s driving style were collected, based on which and with the help of machine learning a prediction of the scores for the road section and the scores for the driver?s driving style was performed. The obtained results have shown that the proposed methodology is a useful tool for managers enabling them to simply and quickly determine potential room for increasing the energy efficiency of the vehicle fleet and decreasing CO2 emission.

Services are one of the important indicators that reflect the welfare of the society and its development. Due to the increase in various means of transport and the increase in internal and external traffic, the provision of basic services for the regional road users has become a necessity that should be studied in a thorough and accurate manner to reach the appropriate mechanism for the spatial allocation of these services. The research problem lies in the lack of interest in the optimal spatial allocation of the public road services because of the overlap between the powers and authority of the municipalities and the directorates of roads and bridges preventing to study the subject comprehensively. In addition, there is a lack of roads in general and regional roads in particular for service stations and passenger vehicle stopping spaces, with standard specifications. Therefore, this research is aimed at identifying the sufficiency of spatial allocation of regional road services and studying the current situation of these services, analyzing the efficiency of these services and finding the shortage. We also set plans and strategies to develop the level of services and invest in a manner that achieves the required sufficiency. Furthermore, some research hypotheses were set: the sufficiency of the spatial allocation of the public road services in the regional roads improves the road level of service by identifying a set of factors that directly affect this sufficiency.

The developed program "Technical Service" is presented, exchanging information with the database of GLONASS/GPS systems. This program works on the network and allows you to notify technical personnel engaged in service, repair and release on the road or on a motor vehicle trip, reminding them of the time of receipt of maintenance operation (MOT) for each unit of the enterprise equipment. At the same time, there is information about the number of liquids, grades and filter codes to be replaced with a short history of equipment malfunctions and accidents of vehicles, as well as duplication of all information from the GLONASS system: fuel consumption, mileage, speed, brands and license plates of vehicles. The developed program has the following capabilities: stores a list of vehicles with license plates, constantly updating data on vehicle mileage, and stores for each unit of equipment the necessary information for maintenance operation of vehicles, a short history of major malfunctions, major repairs and accidents of vehicles. This information can be printed or saved to a computer. Timely maintenance operation is the basis and key to the failure-free operation of vehicles, which affects the successful conduct of business.

Abstract For over ten years, China has been the largest vehicle market in the world. In order to address energy security and air quality concerns, China issued the Dual Credit policy to improve vehicle efficiency and accelerate New Energy Vehicle adoption. In this paper, a market-penetration model is combined with a vehicle fleet model to assess implications on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy demand. Here we use this integrated modeling framework to study several scenarios, including hypothetical policy tweaks, oil price, battery cost and charging infrastructure for the Chinese passenger vehicle fleet. The model shows that the total GHGs of the Chinese passenger vehicle fleet are expected to peak in 2032 under the Dual Credit policy. A significant reduction in GHG emissions is possible if more efficient internal combustion engines continue to be part of the technology mix in the short term with more New Energy Vehicle penetration in the long term.

Road damage due to heavy vehicles is thought to be dependent on the extent to which lorries in normal traffic apply peak forces to the same locations along the road. A validated vehicle simulation is used to simulate 37 leaf-sprung articulated vehicles with parametric variations typical of vehicles in one weight class in the highway vehicle fleet. The spatial distribution of tyre forces generated by each vehicle is compared with the distribution generated by a reference vehicle, and the conditions are established for which repeated heavy loading occurs at specific points along the road. It is estimated that approximately two-thirds of vehicles in this class (a large proportion of all heavy vehicles) may contribute to a repeated pattern of road loading. It is concluded that dynamic tyre forces are a significant factor influencing road damage, compared to other factors such as tyre configuration and axle spacing.

This project is based on increasing the fuel efficiency of vehicle. Every vehicle is given an economy speed range by the respective company . But this range will vary due to parameters like the weight of the vehicles and passengers, condition of road, slope of the road, temperature ,etc. During real time this economy range will vary . This system will help the driver to maintain actual economy speed. While driving in mountain areas on the slopes, the economy speed range will be different than on plane roads. This system will take all these parameters in account and navigate the driver to get the maximum efficiency in all situations. In addition to this the driver will provide the driver the approximate kilometers the vehicle can travel in the current fuel. The circuit, working and need of the system is briefly discussed in this paper.

Development of vehicles with the highest safety standards and lowest carbon emissions has been one of the primary goals of the automobile manufacturers. One of the methods of achieving higher fuel efficiency is by reducing vehicle weight by minimizing the unsprung weight without compromising strength and driver comfort. The study presents the behavior of the double-bolted-end joint semi-elliptical leaf spring that is generally used in the rear suspension of lightweight cars and commercial vehicles. 65si7 grade steel is conventionally used in the above leaf springs. The study evaluates the stress distribution, deflection and fatigue life assessment of leaf springs made up of glass epoxy (62% glass fiber), carbon epoxy (40% carbon fiber), and aluminum graphite (5% graphite). The results are compared with 65si7 steel leaf spring and analysed. The analysis performed showed a weight reduction of 76.4 %, 81.1%, 65.8% respectively. The first natural frequency was approximately 1.2 times greater than the road frequency. The simulated results for fatigue life cycles of leaf spring (10e5 cycles) was observed, whereas, for the conventional steel leaf spring (2e5 cycles) was observed. The results suggest the material aluminum graphite (5% graphite) will be the best replacement, considering the overall weight to strength ratio and cost
