As participant recruitment and data collection over the Internet have become more common, numerous observers have expressed concern regarding the validity of research conducted in this fashion. One growing method of conducting research over the Internet involves recruiting participants and administering questionnaires over Facebook, the world’s largest social networking service. If Facebook is to be considered a viable platform for social research, it is necessary to demonstrate that Facebook users are sufficiently heterogeneous and that research conducted through Facebook is likely to produce results that can be generalized to a larger population. The present study examines these questions by comparing demographic and personality data collected over Facebook with data collected through a standalone website, and data collected from college undergraduates at two universities. Results indicate that statistically significant differences exist between Facebook data and the comparison data-sets, but since 80% of analyses exhibited partial η2 < .05, such differences are small or practically nonsignificant in magnitude. We conclude that Facebook is a viable research platform, and that recruiting Facebook users for research purposes is a promising avenue that offers numerous advantages over traditional samples.

The Internet of Things (IoT) technology is an information technology developed in recent years with the development of electronic sensors, intelligence, network transmission and control technologies. This is the third revolution in the development of information technology. This article aims to study the algorithm of the Internet of Things technology, through the investigation of the hazards of athletes’ sports training, scientifically and rationally use the Internet of Things technology to collect data on safety accidents in athletes’ sports training, thereby reducing the risk of athletes’ sports training and making athletes better. In this article, the methods of literature research, analysis and condensing, questionnaire survey, theory and experiment combination, etc., investigate the safety accident data collection of the Internet of Things technology in athletes’ sports training, and provide certain theories and methods for future in-depth research practice basis. The experimental results in this article show that 82% of athletes who are surveyed under the Internet of Things technology will have partial injuries during training, reducing the risk of safety accidents in athletes’ sports training, and better enabling Chinese athletes to achieve a consistent level of competition and performance through a virtuous cycle of development.

Questionnaire Survey is one of the most popular methods in Social Science study, the process of which consists of three phases: data collection, analysis and representation. At present, the practical operations of the three phases are still backward, and the methods used in data analysis and statistic are still simple. This paper designed a Survey Analysis System based on data visualization, which can not only realize survey on the internet, but also brought data visualization into the phases of data analysis and representation, so as to help users to obtain and operate data visually and handily.

The use of the website for disseminating information is also used by SMK Negeri Sumsel and the school's main portal on the internet. For that to see the importance of the usability aspect, this study aims to see the level of usability of the SMK Negeri Sumsel website. In measuring the level of usability, usability testing techniques are used with the stages of preparation, selecting respondents, data collection and data analysis. The test results show that the usability aspects on the website such as errors, learnability, memorability and satisfaction get good ratings while the efficiency aspects are not categorized as good.

There are two main approaches to study youth consumption. The first one considers consumption as viewed by a group of people of a certain age who differ from other age groups. Cultural differences are not taken into account. In the second approach consumption is seen as one of structure-forming elements of youth communities and practices. In that case, researchers study subcultures and youth leisure activities. However, those young people who are not engaged in subcultures and whose consumption patterns do not define their group identities are poorly studied. The article analyzes the importance of consumption among young persons and examines the ideological vectors of youth solidarity. The database consists of 28 biographical interviews with young activists from St Petersburg. The emphasis is placed on value priorities and the significance of labor for young activists. Thus, the meaning of consumption is considered through the prism of values and labor using the notion of “cultural repertoire of consumption”.  Based on the interview results, five repertoires were singled out: anti-reconsumption, ethical, pro-Soviet, anti-consumption and politicized repertoires. Special attention is given to young activists’ reinterpretation of exclusiveness within the dominant consumption discourse. The analysis provides the grounds for reviewing the content of the solidarity vector and the substitution of “consumption - asceticism” direction for the “critical – internalized consumption”.
