Abstract In this paper, an innovative design of balancing mechanism is completed after solving the problem of collision between balancing weight and barrel by TRIZ. For the original design of adding a balancing weight, the Functional Model Analysis is set and the key point of the collision problem is found. For the sake of improving the original design, this paper find out the key point of collision problem and adequate analysis by TRIZ theory, and proposed an innovative solution at last.

Enterprises face increasing challenge in the designing stage which needs to turn the customer’s needs into technical characteristics. In order to enhance the competitiveness of products, a demand-oriented innovative design model was proposed. This model integrates user demand accessing, technology feature mapping, quality function deployment and innovative solutions generation. During the design stage, designers need to match the acquired customer requirements to corresponding technical features, then apply House of Quality (HOQ) for building the mapping of user requirements to the technical features, analyzing the correlation and weights, and then with the aid of the theory of inventive problem solving (TRIZ) to resolve corresponding technical contradictions. Finally, an innovative solution of car steering demonstrated the feasibility of the demand-oriented innovative design model.

In this paper an innovative design solution of a vane pump integrated with an electric motor is presented. In the proposed solution the double vane pump is embedded into the rotor of electric permanent magnets motor (BLDC). CFD simulations of the flow have been carried out to analyze the flow in the pump crossover areas and to avoid the cavitation phenomena at the inlet channel. Results of experimental investigations of the motor pump assembly prototype are presented.

AbstractDue to municipal policies that are about to be legislated in many cities around the world, it may occur that habitants will be forced to commute in ultralight urban low-consuming cars. This paper covers the research concerning the innovative design, manufacturing method and the test of the wheel for such a vehicle. The design guidelines were as follows: elevated rigidity and durability, reduced weight and ease to adapt different types of hubs and powertrains. This was achieved by determining the forces acting on the wheel, examination of the characteristics of the possible materials and performing static finite element analysis simulations that were aimed to reveal stresses distribution and presumable failure points. Afterwards, the carbon fiber reinforced polymer disc wheel was manufactured and tested to compare the empirical deformations with the results of the simulations. The results proved that this type of wheel can be successfully used in ultralight passenger vehicle. The predicted weight reduction of such a wheel, in comparison to the wheels available on the market, may be about 40% due to using carbon fibre reinforced polymer and new, innovative solution - the magnesium hub, instead of aluminum, that is known to damp the vibration more efficiently and is easier to create a strong bond with the wheel.

In order to solve design contradiction between high productivity and complexity of the Device, innovation theory TRIZ has been introduced into design process. Using TRIZ theory, a technical analysis of automatic transplanting machine is conducted. Aiming at the agency’s objective function features, innovative solution is achieved by system functional analysis of the institution, and the engineering features and contradiction matrix has been extracted. Through the contradiction matrix table, 40 innovative principles, and 39 engineering parameters of the TRIZ innovation principles, combined with the characteristics of the automatic transplanting machine, innovative design of transplanting mechanism has been made. Shown by the optimization design, the matrix diffusion agency can improve the productivity significantly.

This paper present the results of the researches regarding innovative design of polymeric systems used in manufacturing of gear pumps with application to reversible pumps used both as pumps as well as motors or steps of the flow dividers. It shows the description of reversible gear pump, with compensating seal in the innovative variant and compensation sealing system for reversible pumps – innovative design. For this innovative solution has been developed a system of compensation sealing kit for reversible pumps – innovative design. In order to obtain these products was necessary to make molds for vulcanization and injection molding tools for polymeric products having special construction considering the size and special profile products. They highlight the competitive advantages of innovative compensation sealing system made by polymeric products. The paper also shows numerical analysis of the fluid at gear pumps using innovative compensation sealing proving the correctness and the advantages of new variants of sealing. The performances reversible pump that uses innovative new sealing system are homogeneous and high levels of performance than those with seals in the classic system.

The paper presents a concept of a heated active thermal target designed for training and shooting with thermal sights at night conditions. The innovative solution contains a control system and a target with specially matched parameters providing several times greater power at the beginning of heating than the power needed to maintain a demanded difference of temperatures in the steady state. After reaching the required temperature, the control system does not give full voltage to the target. The times of voltage supply and its switching off are so selected that the temperature of the target corresponds to the required value. The time needed to obtain the required temperature in the proposed solution is several times shorter than in the currently used configurations. This allows the heater to be activated at the same time as the blade lift is activated. The solution eliminates disadvantages of heated targets used for shooting up to now.
