Abstract Abstract This study aims to utilize wood sawdust waste in the paint industry waste treatment. The first thing to do is a qualitative analysis of heavy metals before and after the processing. Furthermore, the parameters measured are temperature, pH, TDS, and dissolved oxygen (Dislove Oxgen). The use of wood sawdust as a heavy metal adsorbent in paint industry wastes is able to provide efficient results with no sediment formation when conducting qualitative analysis of Cu2+ and Cd2+ metal ions and raising the waste parameters to be environmentally friendly. This shows that the adsorption process works optimally.

Landfill Leachates is one of the pollutants containing high organic matter and heavy metal which can cause toxic pollution to water due to less than optimal leachate processing. This study aims to introduce fine bubbles treatment to the leachate processing technology at the waste treatment facility at Sarimukti, West Java Indonesia. The toxicity test was conducted in the acute toxicity test and test for D. magna. The acute toxicity test was carried out using a static biological test according to APHA standards (1995). The LC50-48 hours ware calculates using the Finney Probit Analysis Software. The results showed that the effectiveness of Sarimukti TPA leachate treatment was 97.5% DO, 71% BOD, 86% TDS, and 74.8% turbidity. The XRF spectra on the leachate after fine bubble found a recovery of heavy metal elements such as Cr, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, As, and Sn. Based on the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation, the effectiveness of leachate processing has reached the safe standard limit for pH, mercury, cadmium parameters. The acute toxicity of leachate before and after treatment fine bubble was 14.516 ppm and 11.178 ppm. The acute toxicity of leachate is considered almost non-toxic.

In this study, non-irradiated and weathered multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) obtained through irradiation, were studied as adsorbents for BPA, both nanomaterials being characterized before and after the adsorption process. The objectives of our investigation were to compare the characteristics of non-irradiated and irradiated MWCNTs, to evaluate the adsorption capacity of BPA by pristine and irradiated MWCNTs and to determine the variation of the kinetic, sorption and thermodynamic parameters during sorption process using both sorbents.

The Cu2+ first bound to the outer mannan and finally entered the cytoplasm. During the whole adsorption process, the number of adsorption sites in the outer and middle cell walls was the largest, and then gradually decreased.

High Consumption of paper, bring the impact of the waste paper itself. And the utilization of the paper is limited to recycled products and crafts, whereas paper such as newspaper still contains cellulose that can be potential to be used as a heavy metal adsorbent. In this study, newspaper was dissolved in sodium bicarbonate to reduce various impurities and then was reacted with citric acid (CA). The modified adsorbent was characterized by FTIR and was tested for adsorb Cu(II) in artificial solution. After adsorption process, the solution was filtered and analysed using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The adsorption experimental data was fitted to Langmuir, Freundlich, Tempkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich for equilibrium model and was fitted to pseudo first order reaction and pseudo second order reaction for kinetic studies. The result showed that CA-modification newspaper able to remove heavy metals Cu(II) in solution.
