Abstract The experiment was conducted on cuttings of Rosa damascena mill L. During the period from mid-March of 2014 until the end of 2015 before the period of formation of flowers for picking at the College of Agriculture/University of Karbala According to the design of complete random sectors, The research included a global experiment with three different factors of the first chemical fertilizer nitrogen fertilization and three levels (0, 0.5 and 1 gm N. Kg -1 soil) and fertilization with the element phosphorus with three levels (0, 15 and 30 mg P2O5. Kg -1 soil) and three levels of Potassium (0, 100 and 200 mg K2O. Kg -1 soil). The results showed that the single effect of the fertilization treatment with nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium resulted in a significant increase in the characteristic of plant height and number of leaves, and the fertilization treatment with nitrogen and phosphorus component separately resulted in the production of seedlings that were characterized by a high dry green weight compared to the comparison treatment. The data of the bilateral overlap between nitrogen and phosphorous indicate the presence of significant differences, as the treatment with nitrogen component gave a concentration of (0.5 and 1 g. Kg-1) overlapping with the component of phosphorus concentration (30 mg. Kg-1) with the highest significant rate of (39.66 cm). The treatment of the triple interference between nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium gave a significant effect on all the studied traits.

SUMMARYWheat yield was increased significantly when grown after sorghum intercropped with cowpeas (both for fodder and grain) or with groundnut compared with sole sorghum in the previous season. The nitrogen requirement for the target wheat yield of 4.0 t ha−1 was 108 kg ha−1 after sole sorghum and this was reduced by 87, 61, 83 and 38 kg ha−1 after intercrops of sorghum with fodder and grain cowpeas, groundnut and greengram, respectively. The different levels of nitrogen applied to the sorghum-legume intercropping systems also allowed savings of between 18 and 55 kg ha−1 of fertilizer nitrogen on wheat in the following season.

Campomanesia adamantium (Cambess.) Berg O. is a native of Savanna, popularly known as gabiroba, guavira, or gabiroba-do-campo, and has many uses, with its fruit being consumed fresh or processed. This study aimed to evaluate different doses of phosphorus and nitrogen in the initial development of gabiroba (Campomanesia adamantium) cultivated in pots. Five doses of phosphorus (0, 100, 200, 300, and 400kg ha-1 of P2O5) and three doses of nitrogen (0, 100, and 200 kg ha-1of N) were tested. The experimental design used was completely randomized in a 5x3 factorial scheme with six replications. The evaluations were carried out 120 days after plant emergence, and the variables analyzed were stem diameter, plant height, and number of leaves. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and F-test. The means were compared by the Tukey test at p0.05. Regression analyzes were adjusted for phosphorus doses. The gabiroba responds significantly to the addition of phosphorus, with the dose of 400 kg ha-1 of P2O5 providing the highest height and the dose of 300 kg ha-1 of P2O5 providing the greatest stem diameter and the number of leaves. Up to 120 days old, gabiroba seedlings do not respond significantly to nitrogen fertilization.

Abstract Barueiro (Dipteryx alata Vog.), a fruit tree native to the Brazilian cerrado, has aroused the interest of producers and consumers due to its almond highly appraised and valued by local markets. To obtain quality barueiro seedlings, balanced fertilization is required, with special attention to the supply of phosphorus and nitrogen, essential for seedling growth and establishment in the field. The aim of this study was to evaluate the growth of barueiro seedlings produced with different phosphate and nitrogen concentrations in Nova Xavantina – MT. The experiment was conducted at the seedling nursery of the Mato Grosso State University (UNEMAT), Campus of Nova Xavantina - MT, from December 2017 to April 2018. The experimental design was randomized blocks (DBC), in a 5 × 2 factorial scheme, corresponding to 5 phosphorus concentrations and 2 nitrogen concentrations, with 10 treatments, 4 blocks and 10 plants per plot, totalizing 400 seedlings. The applied concentrations were 0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 mg kg-1 P2O5 and 0 and 250 mg kg-1 N. The following variables were evaluated: plant height, plant stem diameter, number of leaves, number of leaflets, fresh and shoot and root dry mass and Dickson’s Quality Index. Significant interaction between phosphorus and nitrogen concentrations for all traits evaluated was observed, except for root dry mass. The greatest growth of barueiro seedlings was obtained when the highest phosphorus concentration (600 mg kg-1de P2O5) was used, associated to nitrogen fertilization of 250 mg kg-1. There was no isolated effect of phosphate fertilization on the growth of barueiro seedlings without nitrogen application.

Identification of water masses in areas with complex water dynamics is a complex task, which is usually solved by the method of expert assessments. In this paper, it is proposed to use a formal procedure based on the application of the method of optimal multiparametric analysis (OMP analysis). The data of field measurements obtained in the 68th cruise of the R/V “Academician Mstislav Keldysh” in the summer of 2017 in the Barents Sea on the distribution of temperature, salinity, oxygen, silicates, nitrogen, and phosphorus concentration are used as a data for research. A comparison of the results with data on the distribution of water masses in literature based on expert assessments (Oziel et al., 2017), allows us to conclude about their close structural similarity. Some differences are related to spatial and temporal shifts of measurements. This indicates the feasibility of using the OMP analysis technique in oceanological studies to obtain quantitative data on the spatial distribution of different water masses.

The experiment has been conducted in the nursery of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Design, College of Agriculture, the University of Basrah to study the effect of Spraying foliar of the biostimulants Izomen and Humus on the growth and flowering of Freesia plants. The corms in similar size were planted in pots with a diameter and height of 25 cm, which filled with 2.5 kg of sterilized loam soil. After 50 days of planting, the plants sprayed with Humus at 0, 1.5, 2.5 ml L-1 and after five days sprayed with Izomen at 0, 1.5, 2.5 ml L-1 The different concentrations of biostimulants are sprayed three times, the period between one spray and another 15 is days. The results showed that the spraying of Humus at 2.5 ml L-1 significantly increased the plant height, the number of leaves and the leaf content of chlorophyll recorded (29.56 cm, 8.33 and 58.43%) respectively. Moreover, it is recorded early the flowering date (130 days), and the highest flowering mean is (2.12 inflorescence/plant) and the highest period of the remained flowers on the plant and the vase life (10 and 8 days) respectively. The effects of both Humus and Izomen were similar. In addition to the highest mean of their interaction at 2.5 ml L -1for all the studied traits.

Nitrogen and phosphorus concentration data representing samples collected once a month for nine months at 13 locations along the Vistula River are considered in a preliminary discussion of the sources of the nutrients transported to the Baltic Sea. Concentrations in relation to flow data indicated substantial differences between subbasins. Based on those differences, on the area-specific nutrient loss for a six-month period and on the wastewater discharge in each subbasin, four regions could be recognized in the river basin: i) the southern region with a large impact of point sources, ii) the south central region, where diffuse sources seemed to be of major importance, iii) the north central region with a combined effect of point and diffuse sources, and retention in two reservoirs, iv) the northern region where point sources seemed to be the dominating source, at least for phosphorus. Our results illustrate the importance of differences in phosphorus retention between the basins. Long-term retention along the course of the river, particularly in the two reservoirs, must be estimated to allow proper source apportionment in the Vistula basin. Concentration decreases in the Wloclawek Reservoir varied between 44 and 68% for P, and 11 to 37% for N, in the months with significant retention. In some months, however, concentrations increased, indicating a release of nutrients.

Remote sensing retrieval is an important technology for studying water eutrophication. In this study, Guanting Reservoir with the main water supply function of Beijing was selected as the research object. Based on the measured data in 2016, 2017, and 2019, and Landsat-8 remote sensing images, the concentration and distribution of chlorophyll-a in the Guanting Reservoir were inversed. We analyzed the changes in chlorophyll-a concentration of the reservoir in Beijing and the reasons and effects. Although the concentration of chlorophyll-a in the Guanting Reservoir decreased gradually, it may still increase. The amount and stability of water storage, chlorophyll-a concentration of the supply water, and nitrogen and phosphorus concentration change are important factors affecting the chlorophyll-a concentration of the reservoir. We also found a strong correlation between the pixel values of adjacent reservoirs in the same image, so the chlorophyll-a estimation model can be applied to each other.
