Abstract The potentcy of acidic soils for soybean development in Indonesia is quite large. However low of soil fertility and microorganisms population become contrains for achieving high productifity of soybean. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of technology packages for 15 biofertilizers formula to increase soybean productivity in acidic soils. The research was conducted during the end of rainy season in South Kalimantan. The soil use in the study had pH 5.2 and soil Al-saturation 34.2%. The reasearch was arranged in a randomized block design, three replications consisted of 20 treatmens, namely: 1) 0 NPK, 2) 50% NPK, 3) 50% NPK +2 t/ha organic fertilizer 4) 70% NPK, 5) 100% NPK (100 kg urea + 100 kg SP36 + 100 kg KCl/ha), 6) Iletrisoy+ Biovam+Starmix, 7) Iletrosoy Plus, 8) Beyonic, 9 Biotrico, 10) Probio New, 11) RhizoBIOST, 12) Bio-SRF, 13) Biopim, 14) BioMIGE, 15) Biocoat, 16) FajarSOYA, 17) Rhizobion, 18) Agrizone, 19) Rhizoplus, and 20) BISRF. For each biological fertilizer, 50-75% of recommended NPK fertilizers were given at 15 days after planting. The results indicated that combination of Biovam + Iletrisoy + Startmix biofertilizers, Iletrisoy plus, Biotricho, Probio New, Bio Mige, and Fajar SOYA were effective for increasing soybean productivity on acidic soils. These biological fertilizers + 50% recommended NPK + 1.5 t/ha organic fertilizer increases pods number, and soybean productivity more than 10% compared to the recommended NPK fertilizer dosage whic was 1.81 t/ha. Several of these biological fertilizers have good prospects to be developed as bio-fertilizers for soybeans in acidic soils.

Biofertilizer is a living microorganism that is useful for increasing soil fertility and the quality of production of a plant. Biofertilizer VP3 which has been formulated and developed in previous studies contains 3 soil bacteria, namely N free fixing bacteria, phosphate and bacterial solvents EPS producing bacteria (exopolysaccharide). VP3 biological fertilizer that is applied with compost can be used to degrade compost into humus (fine particles / colloids) which plays an important role for microorganisms, soil and plants with applications for a certain period. The design used was a randomized block design (RBD) with 8 treatments 3 replications. Provision of biofertilizers and NPK fertilizers affect the viability of soil bacteria. The treatment of VP3 biofertilizer with compost and combined with NPK fertilizer 25%, 50% and 75% had yields (number of pods and weight of dry seeds) green beans which were not significantly different or not significant, while biological fertilizer treatment with compost with NPK combination 25 % has the yield of green beans which is not significantly different from the treatment of biofertilizers and compost only. The treatment of VP3 biofertilizer with compost alone without a combination of NPK fertilizer is more economical for farmers. Keywords: biofertilizer, compost, green beans, viability bacteria, NPK fertilizer

ABSTRACT

Rainfed ricefield, planted at least for one cropping season in a year, depends heavily on rainfall for its water supply. This land generally is low in fertility as indicated by the limited availability of essential plant nutrients in particular nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) as well as organic matter. Its productivity is relatively low with a rather erratic precipitation distribution. In order to overcome fertility issue in rainfed land, it is necessary to conduct an integrated nutrient management; one of which is by implementing location specific nutrient management. This study aims to seek the appropriate nutrient management in rainfed paddy field of Semawung village in the sub-district of Andong of Boyolali regency to be provisioned as a technological tool of location specific nutrient management. Research on nutrient management of gogo rancah system-based paddy production was carried out from October 2014 to January 2015. The field experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design involving eight treatments and three replications for each treatment. Treatments were combinations of NPK fertilizer, Organofosfat, and straw-based organic fertilizer. Nutrient management using NPK fertilizer and its combination with Organofosfat or organic fertilizer had very significant effect on plant height and number of stem per hill, significantly affected number of panicle per hill, panicle length, and number of fully-filled grain but did not result in difference of fully filled grain percentage and weight of 1000 grains. There was no significant difference between the treatment of 100% of NPK fertilizer and the combination of 75% of NPK fertilizer with straw-based fertilizer regarding these variables: number of stem per hill, number of panicle per hill, panicle length, number of grain per hill, number and percentage of fully-filled grain, weight of 1000 grains, and weight of fresh grain and milled grain yield. Therefore, the latter treatment is feasible as an option of location-specific nutrient management Semawung village.

Fertile agricultural land encourages people to carry out agricultural cultivation activities. But in general, it has decreased soil fertility because its managed intensively without recycling of organic matter and has an impact on decreasing soil fertility chemically such as soil organic carbon and pH then leads to low productivity. Soybean is an agricultural product that necessary to develop because the demand for soybean consumption in East Java Province has always increased. However, Indonesia has not been able to fulfil this demand. One of the technology innovations that can be applied to improve soil fertility that has low organic matter and to increasing soybean production by providing input of quality organic fertilizer in the form of compost (Tithonia and Cow Dung). So this research is important to determine the effect of application cow dung compost and tithonia on soil chemical properties, the growth of soybean crops, and the correlations between soil chemical properties and soybean growth. This study used a randomized block design with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The result showed that the application of tithonia and cow dung compost shows a significant effect on soil chemical properties, plant height, and the number of leaves, but didn’t show a significant effect on the number of branches in every observation. Based on the correlation analysis, the results show a positive correlation between soil chemical properties and soybean growth.
