Abstract Randublatung Groundwater Basin is a cross-regional Groundwater Basin located in Central Java with an area of 203 Km2. The increase of population in this area led to the increasing need for groundwater not only for freshwater sources and consumption but also for agriculture and industrial needs. The rise of uncontrolled groundwater usage can result in pollution and degradation in the quality and quantity of groundwater. There need to be conservation efforts to maintain the sustainability of groundwater utilization. This study aims to determine conservation zones and management priorities in the Randublatung groundwater basin area. Conservation zones are determined based on the value of their parameters: (a) availability and potential of groundwater, (b) groundwater depletion, (c) changes in groundwater quality, (d) land use, (e) aquifer characteristics, (f) prioritization of groundwater protection areas, and (g) water use. Those parameters are weighed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and then overlaid corresponding to the weight of the parameter to acquire the matrix of conservation zones. The results indicate the type of lithology in the research area was an alluvial deposit—the development of the data processing presented in the form of a map of groundwater. There are four types of conservation zones in a confined aquifer, i.e., secured, vulnerable, and critical.

Health research and investments are expensive, and its explicit social, health and economic impacts are hard to define. There are many challenges and assumptions in defining specific returns on investment in health research. In the literature, there is no common approach to evaluate health research impacts. Single criterion methods are generally used with validated indicators to track overall outcomes or outcomes in a specific health research area. These methods have the ability of considering only one criterion at a time, which is usually the cost of the investment. A multicriteria method is proposed for taking care of many conflicting criteria of health research investments. The difficulty of measuring intangible criteria is captured by the fuzzy set theory. Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used for the selection among four possible health research investment alternatives. A sensitivity analysis is made for the changes in the values of various parameters.

In this paper, the definition of additive consistent intuitionistic fuzzy complementary judgement matrix (ACIFCJM) was given; The addition and subtraction algorithms of intuitionistic fuzzy value representing the relative importance degree in the matrix were given, then the definition of the scale transition matrix of intuitionistic fuzzy complementary judgement matrix (IFCJM) was given; The additive consistency recursive iterative adjustment algorithm about the IFCJM was given, then priority vectors formula of IFCJM was introduced; At last, the steps of intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (IFAHP) were introduced, then the method was applied in actual examples, and its effectiveness was verified.

PurposeThe purpose of the study was to identify and weight the dimensions and indicators of individual job performance (IJP).Design/methodology/approachTo identify dimensions and their measuring indicators, a literature review was conducted in PubMed, Embase™, ProQest, Scopus®, Web of Science™ and Google Scholar. Based on the results of the literature review and consensus among the research team, dimensions and measuring indicators were identified and an IJP framework was constructed. For weighting dimensions and indicators, fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and fuzzy Delphi technique (FDT) were conducted, respectively.FindingsBased on the results, the conceptual framework showed that IJP consisted of four dimensions as follows: task performance (TP), contextual performance (CP), counterproductive work behaviors (CWBs) and adaptive performance (AP). The results of FAHP showed that TP (0.358) had the highest weighting in measuring IJP. The weight of CWBs, CP and AP was 0.302, 0.244 and 0.096, respectively. The results showed that 102 indicators were identified to measure the dimensions. Using the FDT, 45 indicators were accepted and 57 were rejected. Of the accepted indicators, 12 indicators belonged to TP. In addition, 11, 12 and 10 belonged to CP, CWBs and AP, respectively.Research limitations/implicationsThe results of the article can be useful in research and practice and bridge the gap between theory and practice. In the research area, the researchers can use this model to develop questionnaires for evaluating IJP in all occupations. The researchers can choose the most effective dimensions or indicators in accordance with the corresponding occupation. Moreover, the results can be used in practice (economic and commercial impact), teaching, influencing public policy and helping to establish a more complete knowledge system.Originality/valueIn order to select dimensions and their measuring indicators, the work in the study took the unique approach to employ powerful decision-making methods combined with fuzzy methods to remove any ambiguity in opinions.

In this paper, we present a statistical criterion for accepting/rejecting the pairwise reciprocal comparison matrices in the analytic hierarchy process. We have studied the consistency in random matrices of different sizes. We do not agree with the traditional criterion of accepting matrices due to their inflexibility and because it is too restrictive when the size of the matrix increases. Our system is capable of adapting the acceptance requirements to different scopes and consistency necessities. The advantages of our consistency system are the introduction of adaptability in the acceptance criterion and the simplicity of the index we have used, the eigenvalue (λmax) and the simplicity of the criterion.

It is known that in the Analytic Hierarchy Process (A.H.P.) a scale of relative importance for alternatives is derived from a pairwise comparisons matrix A = (aij). Priority vectors are basically provided by the following methods: the right eigenvector method, the geometric mean method and the arithmetic mean method. Antipriority vectors can also be considered; they are built by both the left eigenvector method and mean procedures applied to the columns of A. When the matrix A is inconsistent, priority and antipriority vectors do not indicate necessarily the same ranking. We deal with the problem of the reliability of quantitative rankings and we use quasi-linear means for providing a more general approach to get priority and antipriority vectors.

The paper presents the Triads Geometric Consistency Index ( T - G C I ), a measure for evaluating the inconsistency of the pairwise comparison matrices employed in the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Based on the Saaty’s definition of consistency for AHP, the new measure works directly with triads of the initial judgements, without having to previously calculate the priority vector, and therefore is valid for any prioritisation procedure used in AHP. The T - G C I is an intuitive indicator defined as the average of the log quadratic deviations from the unit of the intensities of all the cycles of length three. Its value coincides with that of the Geometric Consistency Index ( G C I ) and this allows the utilisation of the inconsistency thresholds as well as the properties of the G C I when using the T - G C I . In addition, the decision tools developed for the G C I can be used when working with triads ( T - G C I ), especially the procedure for improving the inconsistency and the consistency stability intervals of the judgements used in group decision making. The paper further includes a study of the computational complexity of both measures ( T - G C I and G C I ) which allows selecting the most appropriate expression, depending on the size of the matrix. Finally, it is proved that the generalisation of the proposed measure to cycles of any length coincides with the T - G C I . It is not therefore necessary to consider cycles of length greater than three, as they are more complex to obtain and the calculation of their associated measure is more difficult.

In this paper we use AHP mathematical theory, combining with VB6.0 software, and establish preschool children's psychological development model, and design preschool children's psychological development analysis system. In the first part of this paper we introduce the AHP structure, and discuss the principle and process of hierarchical analysis; in the second part, combining with the matrix theory we establish the mathematical model of objective function layer approximation. In order to verify the effectiveness and reliability of model, we use the VB software to do numerical simulation on preschool children's psychological development, and obtain the level nephogram and children's psychological maturity index curve of children's psychological development. It provides technical reference and the theory basis for the effect of preschool physical education on the psychological development of children.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to evaluate and rank the influence of internet public opinion of China’s Government work in 2015 by weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS. Design/methodology/approach – This disaggregation method includes four main steps, determine the vector of weights for the factors by analytic hierarchy process, calculate the matrix of consistent effect measure, determine the weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS, rank and evaluate the events. Findings – We get the ranking of internet public opinion of China’s Government work in 2015 by weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS. The result can be used for evaluating and ranking the influence of internet public opinion in China. The positive weighted absolute degree of grey incidence, the negative weighted absolute degree of grey incidence and the weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS have the same ranking results. The same ranking results show that the method of weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS has good consistency. Practical implications – The weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS can be easily used for other evaluation. Originality/value – The weighted absolute degree of grey incidence with TOPSIS is proposed and first used for evaluating and ranking the influence of internet public opinion of China’s Government work.

With the rapid development of smart cities all over the world, the evaluation of the smart city has become a new research hotspot in the academic circles. Nevertheless, there still exist a series of common problems in current smart city evaluation, including the cognitive deprivation, lack of experience in planning, low coordination level, etc. Therefore, it is critical to establish a new hierarchy for smart city evaluation indicators, especially in the 5G era. Based on literature review, expert consensus, and the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, this study developed an innovative smart city evaluation framework. In the framework, an index comprising three dimensions, i.e., smart economy, smart society, and smart environmental protection, as well as several attributes for these dimensions for smart city evaluation were established. Then, taking Jiangsu Province, the fastest-growing province in China, as the research area, the development level of smart city for the cities in Jiangsu was calculated. The results have verified the effectiveness of the framework, which can provide suggestions for sustainable urbanization, and help urban decision-makers to promote the efficient development of smart cities.
