Abstract Brakes are one of the most important components of vehicles. This is due to their function of decelerating, regulating vehicle speed and keeping vehicles stationary. The correct function and reliability of this system is essential for safe operation and vehicles driving. In our case, we deal with the brakes of rail vehicles. As trainsets achieve higher weights and speeds, great emphasis is also placed on improving the friction components of brake systems, which must meet the strict parameters set by the International Union of Railways (UIC) and must be tested on specialized approved test benches, before being put into service. As the demands on the development of friction components increase, so do the demands on their testing. From this point of view, there is necessary constant improvement in the measuring lane of the brake bench. It is necessary to improve the measuring and control technology as well as the mechanical components. This paper deals with the study of mechanical components in terms of operational dynamics. The main idea of the work is to create a virtual model of the brake bench in order to simulate the operating states and determine the critical modes with a possible adverse impact on the course of measurement and control. During the measurement, the monitored parameter is an important simulated mass, which must meet a precisely determined tolerance for the success of the measurement.

Currently, the measurement of electrical and non-electrical quantities is performed using analog-to-digital conversion channels, which consist of analog signal conditioning circuits and analog-to-digital converters (ADC) of electrical quantities into a digital code. The paper considers the case when the defining errors of the measurement and control channel are systematic errors of the ADC. The reliability of measurements is assessed by their errors, and the reliability of control - by the likelihood of correct operation of the control device. In our opinion, evaluating the reliability of such similar processes as measurement and control using different criteria seems illogical. The aim of the work is to study the effect of systematic errors of an analog-to-digital converter on the errors of parameter control depending on the type of conformity functions and the width of the control window, as well as the choice of the resolution of the ADC for various control tasks. The paper analyzes the transfer functions of measurement and control. It is shown that they are formed using step functions. It is proposed to use not a step function as a control transfer function, but other functions of conformity to the norm, for example, a linear function or functions of higher orders. In this case, the control result is assessed not according to the criterion of the probability of correct operation, but using the control error. Analyzed from the point of view of reconfiguring the errors of the line, parabolic and state parabolic functions of the norms for the development of changes windows in control. A recommendation has been given for the selection of functions for the conformity of standards and for the distribution of analog-to-digital conversions for industrial control enterprises.

In 1939, Community Chests and Councils, Inc., published a pamphlet in its series on community planning, “giving tested procedures for determining the extent of social breakdown in the community, and outlining a detailed plan for better co-ordinated service to social breakdown families.” Because of the significance of the procedure and plan to social case work and requests from our readers for some discussion of it, the Editorial Advisory Committee of The Family planned a symposium from the point of view of case work, community organization, research, sociology, and psychiatry. Bradley Buell, of Community Chests and Councils, was invited to discuss the background of the plan. We shall be glad to receive other brief discussions for the Readers' Forum.

In this paper, one solution of graphic LCD control board for lightweight electric vehicles is shown. The main idea was to build adoptable hardware solution that can be fast and easy applied in different electrical vehicles and easy for modifications. It was designed, built and tested graphic LCD for monitoring and seting up of main parameters and control signals for lightweight electric vehicle. Some of parameters that could be displayed on graphic LCD are charge status, actual speed, total mileage, daily mileage and indicators of direction. Also we discussed about other possibilities for some sensors that can be used to monitor vehicle speed and ways of visualizing the parameters of interest. The main principles that were used during the selection of hardware solutions implementation also are shown.

The purpose of this work is to analyse the technological aspects of the realization of components by 3D printing for the production of plan parts for experimental devices or stands. The author of this work envisages the realization of flat elements to which it can be determined how the organic resin material behaves when printing 3D with additive DLP technology. The work is structured in 5 chapters. In the first chapter, an analysis of how to make the plan elements by the additive DLP technology specific to the experimental programme adopted in this paper. The analysis will be carried out both constructively and functionally taking into account possibilities for designing components and making them. Chapter two is allocated to ordering technological parameters for 3D printing generation of parts defining the main technical parameters for generating them with ecological resin. The next chapter is allocated to analysing how to carry out the printer command program and check the structure of the element. In the four chapter, the dimensional measurement and control programme with dimensional and optical is presented. The last chapter is allocated to conclusions and comparisons from a technological point of view compared to other specific technologies for generating the analysed elements.

In order to compare the strengths of various materials it is necessary to carry out a standard form of test to establish their relative properties. The tensile test, compression test, bending, shearing and torsion tests are used for examining mechanical properties of biological materials. Except for non-destructive methods (optical, electromagnetic, sonic, thermal, infrared), destructive testing is another very important tool for the assessment of biomechanical properties and behavior of biomedical materials. The tensile strength test is one of the most common testing methods, which uses specific testing machines. Many tensile testing machines are equipped to plot a curve which shows the load or stress and the strain or movement that occurs during the test operation. In the testing operation, the load is increased gradually and the specimen will stretch or elongate in proportion to the tensile load. The load cells and extensometers measure the key parameters of force and deformation. The presented paper is a report which describes a specific and unique technical solution and upgrade of FM 1000 machine from the control and output processing point of view.
