Orlando Jones, an American film and television writer, producer, and actor who currently plays Captain Frank Irving in Fox’s Sleepy Hollow, provides an intriguing example of how producers and fans can engage in a receptive and dynamic relationship through social media, most specifically through Twitter and Tumblr. We interviewed Jones to ascertain how a regular in a popular television show perceives and maintains this form of communication with fans; how his enthusiasm for fan studies has unfolded; and how he has negotiated and managed fan controversy.

Alcohol intake is associated with the risk of breast cancer. Different patterns of alcohol-drinking may have different effects on breast cancer even when keeping constant the total amount of alcohol consumed. We aimed to assess the association between binge drinking and breast cancer risk. The SUN Project is a Spanish dynamic prospective cohort of university graduates initiated in 1999. In the 556-item lifestyle baseline questionnaire a validated food-frequency questionnaire was embedded. Participants completed biennial follow-up questionnaires. Cox regression models were used to estimate the hazard ratio (HR) for breast cancer associated with the exposure to binge drinking. A stratified analysis was performed according to menopausal status. We included 9577 women (mean age = 34 years, SD = 10 years), with a median follow-up of 11.8 years. Among 104,932 women-years of follow-up, we confirmed 88 incident cases of breast cancer. Women in the binge drinking group showed a higher risk of breast cancer (HR = 1.76; 95% CI: 1.03–2.99) compared to women in the non-binge drinking category. In the stratified analysis, a 2-fold higher risk for premenopausal breast cancer was associated with binge drinking habit (HR = 2.06; 95% CI: 1.11–3.82). This study adds new evidence on the association of binge drinking with breast cancer risk.

The rock carvings at Knarrbyn in Dalsland, Sweden, lie high on a rocky ridge and consist almost entirely of multiple circles in various groups. In both location and imagery the panels at Knarrbyn provide a contrast with the varied figurative images on a majority of large rock carving sites of the Bronze Age in southern Scandinavia, which are mostly set low and near the contemporary seas. The paper aims to explore both shape and place of the Knarrbyn discs, with new recordings and landscape assessment. In contrast to the general opinion that Bronze Age carvings of circles had some close relationship to concepts of the sun, the Knarrbyn discs, by their unusual internal shaping and their position here on the high rocks, offer an alternative concept, that these particular carvings had close physical and ideological relationships with Bronze Age burial cairns in this isolated part of Dalsland. These and other late prehistoric monuments are mapped in the paper and include several previously unrecorded sites on the Knarrbyn ridge. The precise landscape location of the carving sites suggests they were part of a sacred passage in the Bronze Age, leading southwards to the major cemetery and rock carving sites at Tisselskog; such a passage may have foreshadowed and influenced the emergence and orientation of thePilgrimsledenthat traversed the same landscape some 2000 years later.

Abstract Objectives Dietary patterns may have a greater influence on human health than individual foods or nutrients and they are also being widely studied in the field of breast cancer prevention. Beyond the adequate balance of macronutrients, evidence shows that the quality of fat sources may play an important role in health outcomes. Our aim was to assess the relationship between healthful and less healthful low-fat dietary patterns in relation to breast cancer in a Mediterranean cohort (the SUN project). Methods The SUN Project is a Mediterranean dynamic prospective follow-up cohort study assessing participants every 2 years. We evaluated 10,930 middle-aged women initially free of breast cancer during a median of follow-up of 12.1 years. Dietary variables were evaluated through a previously validated 136-item FFQ. We calculated an overall, an unhealthful, and a healthful low-fat-diet score (rang: 0–30 points) based on the percentage of energy from total and subtypes of carbohydrate, fat, and protein. Participants were then categorized into tertiles.  Incident breast cancer was de primary outcome. We fitted Cox regression models adjusted for potential confounders to investigate the relationship between baseline categories of low-fat-diet scores and the incidence of breast cancer- overall and stratified by menopausal status-. Results During 123,297 person-years of follow-up, 119 cases of incident breast cancer were confirmed. Among postmenopausal women, a significant direct association with postmenopausal breast cancer (comparing tertile 2 vs. tertile 1, HR = 2.60; 95% CI 1.24–5.45, P value = 0.012) was found.  None of the other associations was statistically significant. Conclusions In this Mediterranean prospective cohort study, a moderate adherence to an unhealthy low-fat-diet-score might increase the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer. These results must be further confirmed in future studies. Funding Sources The SUN project received funding from the Spanish Government-Instituto de Salud Carlos III, and the European Regional Development Fund, the Navarra Regional Government and the University of Navarra.

The paper compares the Bronze Age ship settings of Gotland with the vessels portrayed in rock carvings on the Scandinavian mainland. It also makes comparisons with the drawings of vessels on decorated metalwork of the same period. It considers their interpretation in relation to two approaches taken to the depictions of ships in other media. One concerns the use of boats to transport the sun, while the other emphasises the close relationship between seagoing vessels and the dead. A third possibility concerns the distinctive organisation of prehistoric communities on Gotland. It seems possible that the largest of the ship settings were equivalent to the Bronze Age cult houses found on the mainland and that they may even have represented the island itself.

Dr. Lebis has written that there is a very close relationship between incense and digestion. If the sun rays do not fall on man or any other creature every day, then its digestion and equation power is impaired. Spuran and human life have a close relationship between them. Life is related to light power and its splendor, not protein, white matter, hydrogen, carbon or heat.Like the sky and air element, the light element is also very subtle. The colors of the colors we see in the lush green area of nature, all of this is the illusion of the sun's colorful rays. Color illuminated in light is not only beautiful to the eyes, but is also a life color. The rays of the sun have a lasting effect on the living world. This is the basis of Sun ray therapy. By keeping water in colored bottles, the effect of light also changes and different qualities are produced in it.

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that seriously affects females’ physical health, which is the leading cause of cancer death among Chinese female. Estimating early diagnostic and  prognostic markers are helpful to conduct treatment for patients with breast cancer. Accumulating investigations focused on the role of Jab1 and S100A8 proteins in the development and metastasis. In our study, we performed the immunohistochemical stain for Jab1 and S100A8 in breast carcinoma and para-carcinoma samples. We have found that the positive rate of Jab1 and S100A8 in breast cancer was higher than that in para-carcinoma tissues. The expression level of Jab1 and S100A8 in breast cancer might have a close relationship with the histologic grade and lymphatic metastasis. The two proteins might be promising supplementary targets for the treatment and prognosis of breast cancers in clinical pathology.
