Background: The nurses’ moral sensitivity is the first step to make right decisions in difficult moral situations. Therefore, its education and promotion is highly important. Research objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the impact of poetry-based ethics education on the nurses’ moral sensitivity. Research design and methods: This was a semi-experimental study. The sample consisted of 108 nurses who were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly assigned to three groups: intervention with poetry (G1), who read a booklet about values and principles of professional ethics as well as poems related to these subjects for 1 month; intervention without poetry (G2), who only read the booklet without any poetry; and control group (G3), who did not receive any intervention. Data were collected by Moral Sensitivity Questionnaire that was completed by the participants prior to the intervention (T1), 1-month post-intervention (T2), and 2-month post-intervention (T3). Data were analyzed by SPSS 16 software. Ethical considerations: This study was conducted in accord with the principles of research ethics and regulations relating to informed consent. Findings: Changes in the mean score of total moral sensitivity were significantly higher in G1 than in G2, which was in turn significantly higher than in G3. This increase was significant from T1 to T2 and T2 to T3 (P < 0.001). In all subscales, there was a significant difference between the mean changes in the three groups, so that in these subscales, the mean changes in G1 were significantly higher than those in other groups. Discussion: In line with previous studies, our results showed the effectiveness of poetry-based education on the transfer of educational concepts and increase moral sensitivity scores with greater lasting effect. Conclusion: The use of interdisciplinary subjects such as poetry, due to its entertaining, fun, and lasting effect on minds; level of awareness; and actions of nurses, can help raise nursing moral sensitivity.

The success of an institution is mainly dependent on its effective human capital and in execution of strategic sustainable HR functions. Currently, human resources are under colossal pressure to ascertain its value, facing severe demands to create an innovative, resultoriented workforce. Ecological - connect practices save money through awareness and communication while reducing environmental predicaments. Personal or professional engagement of individuals will have a long-lasting effect on the environment. Innovation coupled with business processes can change the mindsets of people and businesses and reduce incremental costs. The hallmark of ecological - connect is that it brings about enduring stress - induced thinking competence. One of the prime doctrines of ecological - connect is maximization of positive benefits of an institution for all stakeholders and specifically it should commence with its domestic human resources

The immediate effect is an important index of the outcomes of emotion regulation. However, in daily life, whether the effect of emotion regulation lasts and the lasting mechanism have been examined less. The present research focused on the relationships between the immediate and lasting effect of the emotion regulation of adolescents. Electroencephalogram (EEG) was recorded from 51 adolescents (31 boys and 20 girls, Mage = 12.82) during online emotion regulation using the Reactivity and Regulation-Image Task (phase 1) and re-presentation of emotional stimuli after a period of time (phase 2). Event-related potentials (ERPs) related to emotion regulation, such as N2, P3, and the late positive potential (LPP), were examined in the two phases. The results showed that: (1) In both of the two phases, in negative emotion conditions, the amplitudes of P3 and LPP 300–600 of no-regulation conditions were significantly higher than those in reappraisal conditions. However, there was no significant difference under neutral conditions; (2) The amplitudes of P3, N2, and LPP 300–600 during emotion regulation in phase 1 positively predicted the amplitudes of P3, N2, and LPP300–600 in phase 2 in different experimental conditions. Results from the regression analysis implied that the immediate effect of online emotion regulation may predict the lasting effect when adolescents face the same emotions again. In addition, our findings provide neurological evidence that the use of cognitive reappraisal could effectively help adolescents to reduce the recruitment of cognitive resources when they regulate negative emotions and when they face those negative emotions again.

Abstract Background: Previous study has shown that a short-term use of zoledronic acid (ZA) after cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) significantly increases bone mineral density (BMD) over the proximal femur and inhibits bone turnover markers (BTMs) after two years. However, could the discontinuation of ZA have a lasting effect is of interest.Method: This is an extension study of a two-year prospective randomized controlled trial on 54 cementless THA treated with either two doses of ZA or placebo. We compared BTMs [alkaline phosphatase (ALP); osteocalcin (OC); procollagen 1 intact N-terminal propeptide (P1NP)], serum calcium, renal function, radiological findings, and functional outcomes (Harris hip score and UCLA activity score) from baseline to 5 years post-THA in 49 patients, and periprosthetic BMD of the seven Gruen zones in 19 patients.Result: All patients had well-functioning hip prostheses, normal renal function, and normal serum calcium levels at 5-year follow-up. At the fifth year, the BMD levels were not statistically different between the two groups, but the change in BMD from baseline (BMD change ratios) in ZA group were significantly increased in zone 2, 4, and 6 as compared with control group. Parallel to that, in ZA group, levels of ALP were significantly lower at the fifth year; OC were significantly lower at the second and the fifth year; P1NP were significantly lower from 6 weeks to 2 years as compared with those in control group. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the lasting effect of a two-dose ZA given within one year after THA on bone metabolism and periprosthetic BMD at five years. The short-term dosing of ZA followed by a 4-year drug holiday had no adverse events and resulted in significant inhibition of periprosthetic bone loss and BTMs.Trial Registration:This extension study on a randomized, open label, single-center clinical trial was conducted under Institutional Review Board of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Protocol Records 98-1150A3; 105-1296C1; 105-7004D, and was registered July 19th, 2016 on public registry ClinicalTrials.gov trial registration number NCT02838121.

It is possible to increase the effectiveness of preventive dental measures by a differentiated approach to the use of toothpastes [3]. The most intensive incorporation of calcium and fluorides into the composition of the hard tissues of teeth occurs during their formation and mineralization [4, 5]. At the end of the growth and mineralization of the teeth, the enamel and dentin of the teeth become less permeable to fluoride, but the need for them does not disappear. Also, a number of authors note that the need for ions with different caries activity may differ. The purpose of our study was to study the effectiveness of the use of toothpastes in 6–7, 12, 15-year-old schoolchildren with various caries activity. We examined 532 children, attending organized children's groups in Yekaterinburg. By a randomization procedure based on the method of random numbers, children were divided into groups according to the type of paste used: calcium-containing, fluorine-containing, combined use of calcium and fluorine-containing pastes, paste based on organosilicon glycerohydrogel. The toothpastes effectiveness was assessed by the change in enamel resistance by functional methods: electrometry and Enamel Resistance Test. The annual increase in caries was taken into account. It was found that calcium-containing toothpastes are most effective in the first month of use, then the effect of their use weakens. Fluoride toothpastes lead to a persistent but slow increase in enamel resistance. The combined use of calcium and fluoride toothpastes gives a quick and lasting effect. A paste based on organosilicon glycerohydrogel gives a persistent decrease in enamel electrometry, with the best results in the group of schoolchildren with high caries activity.

Trauma has a lasting effect on both physical as well as mental well-being of an individual. Traumatic dental injury can be distressing for anyone right from a pre-schooler to a teenager to an adult. Hence it’s imperative to restore the affected teeth to reinstate not only the lost confidence but also the lost aesthetics and functionality. This report showcases an intricate case of a 12-year-old male, where uncomplicated crown fracture was associated with extrusive luxation injury in a tooth with open apex which became devitalized and was managed by splinting followed by apexification. Management of even such cases with guarded prognosis can be done conservatively to ensure functional as well as aesthetic rehabilitation. Restoring the tooth to function will help the patient regain his lost confidence. Hence, there cannot be a cookbook approach to manage dental traumatic injuries as many times fractures and luxation injuries occur concurrently.

The revolutionary movement in United Provinces had its beginnings initially under the influence of the anti-Partition movement in Bengal from 1905 onward. It, first, appeared in radical papers established in 1909 in Urdu and Hindi. Initially, it supported Tilak’s National Party with a tinge of Hindu revivalism, but radical socialist views also began to develop under the influence of the Ghadr movement of 1914–15. Despite repression, the 1920s saw a great increase in propaganda and revolutionary activity, especially under the influence of the Soviet Revolution. Bismil, the revolutionary martyr, played a special role in both propaganda and armed activity. The article argues that though the Kakori case ended in the execution of Bismil and his comrades, the propaganda they had carried on had lasting effect on the ideology of the revolutionary movement and the radicalisation of popular feeling in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
