Kata kunci: faktor proteksi, harga diri, ide bunuh diri, dan pola asuh orangtua   SELF-SELF-PRICE AND PARENT'S PATTERN AS SELF-KILLING IDEAS PROTECTIVE FACTORS   ABSTRACT Teenagers who do not cope well under pressure will lead them to emotional instability and tend to perform a variety of malicious behavior or commit to suicide. This study aims to determine the relationship of self-esteem and parenting Stylewith Suicidial Ideation in high school adolescents. This study used descriptive correlative and cross-sectional approach. This study has a number of 322 respondents, that are high school adolescents selected by proportional random sampling technique. There is strong relationshipwith negative directionbetween self-esteem with suicidal ideationand the correlation coefficient is -0,876, which means that the if adolescent’s self-esteem is lower so suicidal ideation will be higher. There is moderate relationshipwith negative direction between parenting style with suicidal ideation and the correlation coefficient is -0,365, which means that if parenting style is authoritative so suicidal ideation will be lower, and if parenting style is authoritarian so suicidal ideation will be higher. This study can be used to improve nursing intervention in identify suicidal ideation, and also to improve teenager’s and teacher’s knowledge about protective factors of suicidal ideation.   Keywords: parenting style, protective factor,self-esteem and suicidal ideation

The purpose of this study was to examine the predictive validity of the HEW National Strategy for Youth Developments behavioral model Impact Scales in predicting delinquency. Human relationship variables rather than perceived educational and occupational access variables were the most potent predictors of Self-Reported Delinquency (SRD) and accounted for 48% of SRD variance. A multiple regression analysis of 11 variables measuring social alienation, perceived negative labeling, perceived lack of access to educational and occupational roles, self-esteem, and peer group pressure towards delinquency, on SRD, showed Normative Peer Group Pressure, Parental Rejection, Negative Labeling by Teachers, Normlessness, and Self-Esteem (negative), in that order, to be the most predictive variables. The notable lack of SRD prediction via perceived educational and occupational access variables suggests that pouring money into educational and occupational programs may not be expected to significantly diminish delinquency levels. Other results do suggest, however, that such programs may be expected to bolster the self-esteem of youth and that self-esteem is only somewhat related to SRD. Nevertheless, in combating juvenile delinquency, bread and books may not be enough.

Juvenile delinquency is one of the prevalent issues of modern society. The purpose of this study was to compare the family environment and self esteem of delinquent and normal boys. Sample comprised of 30 delinquent and 30 normal boys. Their age ranging from 11-15 years. The data was gathered by using Home environment inventory (Dr. Misra S K) and Rosenberg self-esteem scale (Rosenberg, 1965).Home environment inventory was used to measure the psycho-social climate of home as perceived by children. By using t-test, it was found that there is significant difference between home environment of delinquents and normal boys in the following dimensions-control, protectiveness, punishment, conformity, social isolation, reward, deprivation of privileges, nurturance and rejection. It was also found that there is significance difference between self-esteem of delinquents and normal boys.

Theories of the irrational thinking in suicidal individual are reviewed, and a battery of inventories was given to a nonclinical sample of students to explore whether there is a general tendency to think irrationally on all measures. Scores on tests of hopelessness, helplessness, defeat, entrapment, self-esteem, burdensomeness, perseverative thinking, rumination and thinking that one is an impostor were all strongly intercorreated and associated with depression scores and past suicidal ideation, indicating that irrational thinking in suicidal individuals is a general deficit.
