Abstract From the stationary solution of Schrödinger's equation in an interferometer we derive the wave functions of the longitudinal and the transverse motion. The former function is a plane wave. The wave function of the transverse motion is a one dimensional wave packet representing a super position of components with various values of the particles transverse momentum. The particles transverse momentum distribution in an interferometer is time independent and is determined by the aperture wave function. Consequently, it is independent of the distance from the slits. As such, it is a very important characteristic of the quantum state. Experimental determination of the mo mentum distribution would support the particle and wave interpretation of quantum interference in a new manner.

Quantum electrodynamics (QED) with self-conjugated equations with spinor wave functions for fermion fields is considered. In the low order of the perturbation theory, matrix elements of some of QED physical processes are calculated. The final results coincide with cross-sections calculated in the standard QED. The self-energy of an electron and amplitudes of processes associated with determination of the anomalous magnetic moment of an electron and Lamb shift are calculated. These results agree with the results in the standard QED. Distinctive feature of the developed theory is the fact that only states with positive energies are present in the intermediate virtual states in the calculations of the electron self-energy, anomalous magnetic moment of an electron and Lamb shift. Besides, in equations, masses of particles and antiparticles have the opposite signs.

Abstract WTe2, as a type-II Weyl semimetal, has 2D Fermi arcs on the (001) surface in the bulk and 1D helical edge states in its monolayer. These features have recently attracted wide attention in condensed matter physics. However, in the intermediate regime between the bulk and monolayer, the edge states have not been resolved owing to its closed band gap which makes the bulk states dominant. Here, we report the signatures of the edge superconductivity by superconducting quantum interference measurements in multilayer WTe2 Josephson junctions and we directly map the localized supercurrent. In thick WTe2 ($\sim 60{\rm{\ nm}})$, the supercurrent is uniformly distributed by bulk states with symmetric Josephson effect ($| {I_c^ + ( B )} | {=} | {I_c^ - ( B )} |\ $). In thin WTe2 (10 nm), however, the supercurrent becomes confined to the edge and its width reaches up to $1.4{\rm{\ \mu m\ }}$and exhibits non-symmetric behavior $| {I_c^ + ( B )} | \ne | {I_c^ - ( B )} |$. The ability to tune the edge domination by changing thickness and the edge superconductivity establishes WTe2 as a promising topological system with exotic quantum phases and a rich physics.

Performing a fit procedure on the hyperon masses, we first determine the free parameters in the Cornell-like hypercentral potential between the constituent quarks of hyperons in their ground state. To this end, using the variational principle, we apply the hyperspherical Hamiltonian including the Cornell-like hypercentral potential and the perturbation potentials due to the spin–spin, spin–isospin and isospin–isospin interactions between constituent quarks. In the following, we compute the hyperon magnetic moments as well as radiative decay widths of spin-3/2 hyperons using the spin-flavor wave function of hyperons. Our analysis shows acceptable consistencies between theoretical results and available experimental data. This leads to reliable wave functions for hyperons at their ground state.
