Purpose This study aims to explore whether the usability of user experience for mobile library application plays a mediating role in the relation between the success factors of information systems and net benefit. Design/methodology/approach The theoretical model of “information system success factor–user experience usability–net benefit” was constructed. A questionnaire was conducted at the Nankai University. The mediating effects of the usability of the mobile library application on information system success factors and net benefit were examined using hierarchical linear regression and structural equations. Findings First, the usability of user experiences is positively correlated to information quality, system quality and service quality. Second, user experience usability has a significant mediating effect on the relation between information system success factors and net benefit. Originality/value This study improves upon the DeLone and McLean model, connects the usability of user experience with the model and constructs the success factor mechanism of the mobile library application. It provides a theoretical basis for interpreting the relation between the mobile library application and users.

This chapter examines the Information Systems success model in the Egyptian context. Much of the existing literature on information system success focuses primarily on the private sector. There are fewer studies that examine success in the context of the development of e-government. This study focuses specifically on local e-government development of projects in Egypt. A survey is administered in three local governments on actual users of Information Systems. The results of this study confirm much of the existing research on information system success, but highlight the importance of net benefit as a success factor that examines the organizational and managerial context of e-government development. The importance of this research indicates that managerial functions matter for the success of e-government projects.

Purpose Drawing from DeLone and McLean’s Theory of Information System Success, this study aims to develop a theoretical model of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) for the homestay lodging. Design/methodology/approach The study examines the relationship between information quality, system quality and electronic service quality towards user’s satisfaction and eWOM intentions. Data were collected from homestay lodgers in Malaysia. Findings Results indicate that the effects of information quality and e-service quality on satisfaction are of significance, in turn affects eWOM intention. System quality, however, is not a driver of satisfaction. Research limitations/implications This study contains three limitations that provide direction for future studies. The details are provided. Practical implications The results provide a direction to the service providers at improving their services for customers’ satisfaction and loyalty. Originality/value The study offers fresh new insights on eWOM intentions from a homestay lodging perspective in Malaysia.

Nowadays, the role of social media in marketing strategies is undeniable. Facebook brand page is one of the platforms used by the marketers to promote their products. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the Openness to Experience personality moderates the relationship between Information System Success (ISS) factors and customer satisfaction using a sample of 354 customers from three different Facebook brand pages. The result found that the Openness to Experience personality effect the relationship between ISS factors and customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, the Information Quality is the most important factor that influences the customer satisfaction towards social media applications.  Keywords: Social Commerce, Information System Success Factors, Personality Traits, Customer Satisfaction, Openness to Experience, Facebook Brand Page

PurposeThis study aims to examine the factors influencing undergraduates' intention to use university digital libraries by integrating the information system success model and affinity theory.Design/methodology/approachBased on the 265 valid responses gathered through a survey, the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique was employed to test the research model and hypotheses.FindingsThe results indicated that system quality and digital libraries (DLs)' affinity significantly affect undergraduates' user satisfaction. However, information quality and service quality does not. User satisfaction has significant impact on undergraduates' intention to use university digital libraries.Practical implicationsLibrarians and service providers should focus on enhancing the system quality of digital library and DLs' affinity, to improve the undergraduates' user satisfaction, further motivating undergraduates to use university digital libraries.Originality/valueThe information system success model is enriched by affinity as an additional construct.
