This paper presents a secure and reliable home automation system in order to make everyone’s life simpler and fulfil the needs of the disabled or the elderly. The paper proposes a system based on efficient smart watch that uses arduino microcontroller which is embedded with a WIFI module and enables us to control a number of home appliances such as lights, fans and others using on/off relay. In our work, the appliances need not to be smart beforehand as arduino would be externally connected to them such that the system designed would be controlled by gestures i.e. users can control the working of the appliances by moving their hand in upward or downward direction over the screen. This system is comparatively efficient and cost effective than other proposed systems in terms of scalability and reliability. Also, the proposed system has been thoroughly tested and verified in various environmental conditions.

The world is moving towards the process of automation. From the use of manual vehicles to the use of self-driving cars as people seek comfort, convenience and accessibility. Home automation basically does that, making the devices easily accessible from anywhere in the home. To overcome the challenges associated with standing up to switch on and off home appliances, especially during this pandemic era. Hence, “Automated control of fixed loads and remote Sockets: Design and evaluation” presented. This research describes the evaluation via survey and design of a circuit incorporated with a Bluetooth module and design application for smartphones so that any device connected to the circuit such as fans, lightings, sockets etc can make use of the application to control it. The application once it has been successfully installed in any smartphone and successfully connected to the circuit helps in switching on and off the lights, the fan, sockets, etc It will also help in the regulation of the speed of the devices. This is more effective, reliable, automated, time saving and cost effective.

This paper reviews basically about Bluetooth based home automation system. It is controlled by PIC microcontroller. Home automation can be defined as the ability to perform tasks automatically and monitor or change status remotely. These include tasks such as turning off lights in the room, locking doors via smartphone, automate air condition systems and appliances which help in the kitchen. Now a days several wireless devices are available such as Bluetooth, Zigbee and GSM. Since Bluetooth is low in cost than the other two and hence is used more. In this paper we have described the methods of automating different home appliances using Bluetooth and pic microcontroller. Different sensors are involved in this system to advance and make it smarter. Sensors such as temperature sensor, liquid sensors, humidity sensor etc. can be used.

The usage of BLDC motors in the low-power range is increasing rapidly in home appliances such as ceiling fans. This has necessitated the development of reliable, compact and efficient AC-DC power supplies for motor drive circuitry. This paper presents a power supply design consisting of an AC-DC isolated PFC Cuk converter with integrated magnetics that supplies a single-shunt voltage source inverter for the sensorless drive of the BLDC fan motor. The proposed power supply design is comprised of an integrated magnetics structure in which the two inductors and the transformer windings share the same core. The zero input and output ripple current conditions have been derived from the reluctance model of the magnetic assembly. Smooth operation of the motor by minimizing the motor torque ripples is evident from the results. The Cuk converter operates in continuous conduction mode (CCM), employing the current multiplier method. The CCM-based current multiplier control loop ensures a near-unity power factor as well as low total harmonic distortion in the supply current. The current loop also provides over-current protection, enhancing reliability of the system. Moreover, the speed of the BLDC motor is controlled by the field oriented control (FOC) algorithm, which enables direct operation with alternate energy sources such as batteries and solar photovoltaic panels. The performance of the proposed supply is validated: motor torque ripple is reduced to only 2.14% while maintaining 0.999 power factor and only 4.72% THD at full load. Failure modes analysis has also been performed through software simulations, using the PLECS simulation environment. Due to the reliable power supply design with low ripples, it is well suited for low-power BLDC motors in home appliances and small power tools, in addition to ceiling fans.

Abstract Wireless Autonomous Nano-sensor Device (WAND) system is a disruptive cost-effective micro-system for well monitoring. It allows to realize pressure, temperature, inertial, and magnetic field measurements in harsh conditions; it also offers Bluetooth low-power communication and Wireless charging capabilities. Analysis’ results of an industrial offshore pilot realized in Congo (a world first in O&G industry in such complex environment), and major improvements implemented after this pilot are reported in this paper. Accomplished advancements comprise hardware and software developments extending operation lifetime, and simplifying on-site utilization. To date, there is not a commercial solution of this type in the market, the realization of this project is a real innovation allowing practical and low-cost monitoring during well intervention while minimizing the risks associated with standard Rigless intervention. Other applications regarding dry-tree wells on tension-leg platforms (TLP), drilling and completion operations, and pipeline monitoring are being investigated, too.

Typical application of bidirectional DC/DC power converter exists in hybrid cars. Recently, a similar approach has been applied in hybrid propelled ships as well. In this paper, a novel low power bidirectional DC/DC power converter of standard Buck/Boost topology has ben designed in order to explore possibilities of the high power design in maritime applications. In order to discover critical points of a design, thermal imaging has been investigated. The results clearly indicate that the proposed solution is more cost effective than a typical standard bidirectional DC/DC power converter. Likewise, the improvement in maneuvering of the propelled vessel system with two and more electric drives has been investigated and compared to a classical diesel, single engine propulsion system.

This Home Automation System is based on the ESP8266 wifi module. With the help of this project the electrical loads can be controlled using your android cell phone. For this project we have to connect ESP8266 Wi-fi module and cell phone with the same WIFI network. This project can be used at homes, offices, colleges, universities, and so on. For the Worldwide control system, we can use the Nodemcu ESP8266 Wifi Module. This system is very convenient and economical to use. Major components used in it are: esp8266 wifi modulerelays. With this internet of things we can control four home appliances from the Blynk app, we can also use manual switches to control the appliances with or without internet and we can also monitor real-time feedback. So this is very useful to make our devices smart .In this project we have used four channel relay. In this project we have controlled AC appliances like Lights etc. In this project we used IFTTT with the help of ifttt we can connect all of our apps and devices.

Recent Technological advancements have helped the mankind in essential and significant ways. Disabled persons are valued human resource for the nation and a platform to be provided for their effective participation. A prototype is developed for manage the Home appliances with the movement of Eyeball for cursor control. Camera captures the image of movement of eye and it detects the pupil centre position of the eye. The various changes on pupil position gets diverse instruction for the virtual keyboard. Obtained signals permit the motor driver to collaborate with the virtual keyboard. The prototype moves in various directions depending on the selected signal.
