The aging is not only a personal but also a social challenge from several aspects, several dimensions; a challenge aiming to build system approaches and solutions with a long term importance. Aims: the main aim of this research is to investigate the conditions and challenges in the modern living of the old people, primarily in terms of the social care. However, this research is concentrated on a big group of the population and their challenges are the most intensive in the modern living. The investigation of the conditions and challenges in the aging are basis and encouragement in realizing the progressive approaches in order to improve the modern living of the old people. The practical aim of the research is a deep investigation and finding important data, analyzing the basic indicators of the conditions, needs and challenges in order to facilitate the old population to get ready for the new life. Methods and techniques: Taking into consideration the complexity of the research problem, the basic methodological approach is performed dominantly by descriptive-analytical method. The basic instrument for getting data in the research is the questionnaire with leading interview for the old people. Results: The research showed that the old people over 70-79 years old in a bigger percentage manifested difficulties primarily related to the functional dependency, respectively 39,33 % of the participants in this category showed concern about some specific functional dependency from the offered categories. The percentage of the stomach diseases with 38,33 % is important, as well as the kidney diseases with 32,83% related to the total population and the category of the old people over 80. Conclusion: The old people very often accept the life as it is, often finding things fulfilled with tolerance and satisfaction. However the health problems of the old people are characterized with a dominant representation. The chronic diseases and the diseases characteristic for the aging are challenge in organizing adequate protection which addresses to taking appropriate regulations, programs and activities.

This study investigates the synergistic relationships among intellectual capital, process capability, and medical service performance. An empirical study was conducted by using a second-order research framework. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey, and structural equation modeling techniques were used to analyze the data. An empirical analysis revealed that intellectual capital is a major factor influencing final medical service performance. This major factor should be carefully improved to increase process capability in hospitals in the long term. Hospitals account for a substantial proportion of the intellectual capital in the health-care industry, and, thus, should improve their process capability to achieve high medical service performance.

SummaryThe paper compares the prevalence of psychiatric morbidity amongst sentenced prisoners and in the general population. Major psychosis was no more common in the majority of studies of criminal populations. Although prisoners have a higher level of neurotic symptomatology, this was mainly found to be secondary to imprisonment itself. Long term imprisonment was not found to be a precipitant of severe psychiatric morbidity or intellectual deterioration, and prisoners adopt elaborate coping mechanisms which may themselves be protective. However, there is a higher prevalence of mentally handicapped and epileptic prisoners, and doctors in the Prison Medical Service have to cope with frequent, serious behavioural problems. Prisons appear to be a particularly important area for future psychiatric research.

Over the last decade, due to considerable expansion and energized activity of the Russian Navy in the areas of the World Ocean, the number of long sea trips of Northern Fleet ships has significantly increased. Long-term occupancy in the off-shore maritime zone, in different geographic areas — from the Northern Sea Route to Africa hold the Joint Strategic Command of the Northern Fleet and Medical Service to considerable organizational measures and decisions to ensure the preservation of health of the military personnel during the whole period of cruise, guaranteed qualified and specialized medical care in cases of acute diseases, medical emergencies and injuries. Organizational decisions were made in order to strengthen ship forces in an off-shore maritime zone by means of staff expansion with additional medical specialists and retrofitting with modern medical equipment, and specialized treatment extension what affects the morbidity rate and surgical treatment outcomes at sea.

The integration of cellular technology in healthcare (M-Health) has the potential in coping with the constraints of the medical service system and to become a breakthrough to support the patients’ medication adherence. This review was conducted to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of M-Healthin terms of the patients’ medication adherence. The literature review conducting  on PubMed, Cochrane Library, Ebsco Health and Taylor & Francis was confined to the articles published between 2010 and 2019. Fifteen articles relating to medication adherence were reviewed, eleven of which employed RCT methods including quasi-experiment that assessed the effectiveness of M-Health to measure the adherence, while four other researches employed qualitative studies to explore patients’ perceptions. The review showed that the intervention of m-Health is effective to drive the compliance of the treatment in accordance with healthcare promotion efforts as well as the prevention, screening and the management of the diseases. Two studies have shown inconsistent results regarding the prevention of obesity and the management of hypertension patients. The development of such model abd the integration of parallel m-Health and healthcare promotion will improve the long-term medication adherence. Index Terms— effectiveness, compliance, M-health, health care

BACKGROUND Online medical services have become an effective supplement to traditional services in hospitals and an essential organization in medical service. Prior studies have revealed that it’s useful to shorten the delayed admission time and enhance the treatment effect from the service continuity perspective. However, what specific measures the patients and physicians should take to improve service continuity remains unknown. OBJECTIVE Based on the information richness theory and continuity of care, this study investigates the dynamic impacts of information continuity and interpersonal continuity on physician’ service online. METHODS Data of 7200 patients with 360 physicians covering complete interaction records is collected from a professional online platform in China. Content analysis is used to recognize matching patient and physician and least square regression analysis is used to get all empirical results. RESULTS Empirical results show that in the short term, information continuity (including offline experience, medical records, and detailed information) influences physicians’ online service. And, their influences show heterogeneity. Moreover, by recognizing if a patient’s online physician is the same physician who he has visited offline, we find that interpersonal continuity is also important for service. In the long term, information and interpersonal continuity positively improve service continuity by facilitating repeat purchases. CONCLUSIONS Overall, our findings not only shed new light on patient behavior online and cross-channel behavior, but also provide practical insights into improving continuity of care in OHCs.
