Despite being in nascent stage m-commerce is gaining momentum in India. The explosive growth of smart-phone users has made India much loved business destination for whole world. Indian internet user is becoming the second largest in the world next to China surpassing US, which throws open plenty of e-commerce opportunities, not only for Indian players, offshore players as well. Mobile commerce is likely to overtake e-commerce in the next few years, spurred by the continued uptrend in online shopping and increasing use of mobile apps. The optimism comes from the fact that people accessing the Internet through their mobiles had jumped 33 per cent in 2014 to 173 million and is expected to grow 21 per cent year-on-year till 2019 to touch 457 million. e-Commerce brands are eyeing on the mobile app segment by developing user-friendly and secure mobile apps offering a risk-free and easy shopping experience to its users. Budget 4G smart phones coupled with affordable plans, can very well drive 4G growth in India.

For the traditional inspection methods, the visual inspection data is firstly recorded on the inspection forms and then input manually into computer, which is inefficient and creates errors frequently. This research aims at establishing a smartphone-based bridge inspection and management system that can avoid such inputting errors and facilitate the bridge inspection process. The system enables the inspector to complete the inspection information collection in a portable smart phone. The site photos that related to the investigated structures can be easily added and edited during the inspection work with the help of the smart phone. After the investigation, the inspection report and the technical condition rating of the inspected bridge can be automatically generated. The collected data and the GPS information can be uploaded to the terminal server directly via the mobile network. The interface of the mobile software is user-friendly and easy operation, which provides an opportunity for the public to take part in the bridge inspection work, especially for the bridges in rural and mountainous areas. Then, this paper puts forward the relevant ideas on public participation in bridges’ emergency assessment and disposal after the disaster, which can provide data support for the decision-making and disaster relief work.

This paper presents the design and implementation of control strategy for both the speed and direction of a direct current (DC) motor using Android-based application in smart phone. The Raspberry Pi 3 with a motor driver controller has been used to implement the control action via Python-based user-defined programming. The Android application has been developed using Android Developer Tools (ADT) in Java platform. The Android apps work like a client and communicates with Raspberry Pi through wi-fi connectivity. Finally, a small graphical user interface (GUI) has been created in Python in order to interface and control the motor with buttons in GUI. The advantages of GUI are that it is attractive, user friendly, and even a layman can work with the application developed in GUI.

Abstract Repolarization alternans (RA) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. We developed a 12-lead, blue-tooth/Smart-Phone (Android) based electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition and monitoring system (cvrPhone), and an application to estimate RA, in real-time. In in-vivo swine studies (N = 17), 12-lead ECG signals were recorded at baseline and following coronary artery occlusion. RA was estimated using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method using a custom developed algorithm in JAVA. Underlying ischemia was detected using a custom developed ischemic index. RA from each lead showed a significant (p < 0.05) increase within 1 min of occlusion compared to baseline (n = 29). Following myocardial infarction, spontaneous ventricular tachycardia episodes (n = 4) were preceded by significant (p < 0.05) increase of RA prior to the onset of the tachy-arrhythmias. Similarly, the ischemic index exhibited a significant increase following myocardial infarction (p < 0.05) and preceding a tachy-arrhythmic event. In conclusion, RA can be effectively estimated using surface lead electrocardiograms by analyzing beat-to-beat variability in ECG morphology using a smartphone based platform. cvrPhone can be used to detect myocardial ischemia and arrhythmia susceptibility using a user-friendly, clinically acceptable, mobile platform.

Now a day’s usage of android applications has become a part of our life. By using these applications our work becomes simple and easier in our day to day activities. This paper suggests an android application which is generally useful for the students and parents. It contains various features like notifying the student about the renewal date of library books, alerting students and their parents about the percentage of attendance and reminds them about number of classes they should present to maintain the specified attendance threshold. This application also alerts the students and parents about various events like examinations, workshops to be held, student activities to be conducted etc. This application is user friendly and can be installed in any android smart phone

Mobile Learning also known as mLearning, is a new generation of learning where content which users wants to learn is accessible and available on mobile devices like smart phone and tablets. With the evolution of “world in the pocket” learning becomes much easier and one can start learning on the go. This paper illustrates how mLearning could be a better new way to learn and to interact with the learning content provided and how mLearning is proving to be a better alternative to traditional learning. Learning through traditional methods is not helping students to learn and gain new knowledge wherever and whenever they want and also it’s not that effective. It is also researched that not all mLearning applications are helpful for the students or learners to learn whatever they want, only apps with interactive and user-friendly user interface were found helpful. That’s why mobile learning applications are made with user-friendly user interface. Some practical strategies and methods of implementation of mLearning approach despite of its limitations and challenges were recommended in this paper as well.

In this article, a passive haptic learning method for Taiwanese Braille writing was developed for visually impaired individuals through the employment of an effective user-friendly learning strategy. This system was designed with portability and low cost by applying the learning concept of passive haptic learning. This system designed a pair of gloves for visually impaired people to study Braille writing. Furthermore, we also designed a Braille writing teaching system for visually impaired people to learn and practice the Braille writing. Depending on the learning content, the corresponding vibration motors on the glove fingertips vibrate to produce the Taiwan Braille input gestures. The visually impaired people then feel tactile vibration feedback from the glove fingertips. In addition, the corresponding auditory feedback is provided from the Braille writing teaching system. After receiving a series of tactile vibration feedback, user’s finger muscles could memorize the corresponding Braille input gestures by the passive haptic learning. In the practice mode, the teaching system randomly selects practice content and announces the selected content in an auditory manner. Visually impaired users must then input the corresponding Braille codes by using the Braille writing input module. This mode can further reinforce users’ memorization of correct Braille codes for Mandarin characters.

Android is one of the most user friendly mobile platforms that have grasped the attention of smart phone users around the globe. According to stats available there are 1.4 billion people who have used Android mobile platform. And this has led to the development of android application exponentially; there are around 2.8 million android applications available in play store. Many of the available application do not fit into low specification smart phones due to some reasons. Share and Use is an android application that lets you use another smart phones application by your phone without actually installing it on your phone.  Share and Use lets user to use application installed on other phones and access applications on their smart phones. Share and Use helps phones with lower specification android phones to use applications that are not be able to install in them.
