The selenium content of the 1989 harvest of wheat used for bread making in Scotland ranged from 0.028 μg/g dry weight for home-grown wheat to 0.518 μg/g for Canadian wheat. The tonnage values indicate that 13.8% of the wheat used in bread making came from Canada. This reflects in a calculated dietary intake of 31 μg/d which is well below the recommended levels of 70 and 55 μg for adult males and females respectively (National Research Council, 1989). The average glutathione peroxidase (EC 1.11.1.9) level in 478 samples of human whole blood was 6.08 (se 0.065) units/ml. This increased to 6.65 (se 0.321) in sixty-two subjects consuming brown or wholemeal bread but was unaffected by oily fish consumption. Analysis of a small number of samples of whole milk, eggs and meat indicated slightly higher concentrations than previously published values but this trend was insufficient to compensate for the lower cereal provision of Se.

The article compares the features of the communicativeverbal behaviour of adults and children within the framework of the concept of “personal space” in the original work and in its translation. It highlights socially and culturally acceptable and unacceptable forms of speech behaviour in relation to the personal space of an adult friend and a small child, reveals the extralinguistic factors that predetermine the specifics of the boundaries of the concept of “personal space” at different ages. In the article, personal space is presented as a continuum of actions, events and assessments, based on a person’s ideas about the world, other people, about himself and his activities. Due to the underdevelopment and subjectivity of the image of the world, the child himself cannot highlight the importance of objects and relationships and needs monitoring, although he himself does not realize it and often does not admit it. In adulthood, personal space and personal integrity are akin to synonyms.

A research was carried out to detect Brucella antibodies of sheep and goats in Al-Sulaimanya governorate by using modified Rose Bengal test and indirect ELISA. A total of three hundred and eleven (311) whole blood samples (160 sheep and 151 goats) were collected randomly from eight different regions in Al-Sulaimanya governorate from unvaccinated flock with different ages. A total percentages of positive result by using modified Rose Bengal test was 14.46% (20% in sheep and 8.6% in goats), while by using indirect ELISA was 27.6% (35.2% in sheep and 19.2% in goats) with significant (P<0.05) differences. It revealed that rates to modified Rose Bengal test were 14.34% in female and 10.09% in males while to indirect ELISA 26.35% in female and 33.9% in males in sheep and goats, In conclusion of this study the high seroprevelence was at 1-3 years 19.2% and ˃3 years 33.96% according to modified Rose Bengal test and indirect ELISA, respectively.

What skills and knowledge does one require for ministerial formation? It is a question to which a variety of answers could be offered—from several different parts of the Anglican Communion, and from different ages. Attention to scripture and tradition could be assumed; but not, perhaps, the levels and types of critical engagement. The necessary arts and skills as well as the character and wisdom required for the exercise of ministry may vary from culture to culture. The curriculum will vary too, according to the ecclesial ethos of the seminary or college and the cultural context of the future ministers. Identifying the common curricular denominators in the training of Anglican clergy across the Communion will not be a straightforward matter: one cannot assume a reservoir of putatively transferable skills and knowledge that will work in all Provinces. This chapter considers the contexts and challenges Anglican theological education and ministerial training faces today.
