Current reverse engineering approach is an effective way for technology progress of developing countries. Based on analysis of existing reverse engineering technology, a new concept of Product Reverse Engineering (PRE) is proposed and its theoretical framework is discussed first in this paper in order to extend its application from components to the overall product structure and design process. Then a brief introduction is made to the technical system architecture and key techniques for PRE, which include the rapid solid modeling, integrating with existing CAD systems through STEP file, assembly modeling for conceptual structure, and reverse design process reconstruction. Finally, a prototype system PRE-DARFAD is developed with initial verification by a fixture design example.

The problems confronting multi-UAV systems when carrying out tasks are described from the perspective of architecture. According to the traits of multi-UAV systems and the needs when performing combat tasks, the functional requirements are analyzed. And a scheme of the system architecture for multi-UAV systems based on autonomous cooperation is put forward according to the thoughts of autonomous cooperative control. Meanwhile, the architecture reconstruction method of f multi-UAV system architecture under conditions of uncertainty is further studied. The design process showed that: the proposed architecture can meet the functional requirements and has good application prospects in future engineering practice.

ABSTRACT Objective:  To assess the range of social smile reproducibility using 3-D stereophotogrammetry and reverse engineering technology. Materials and Methods:  Social smile images of white adolescents (N  =  15, mean age  =  15.4 ±1.5 years; range  =  14–17 years) were obtained using 3dMDFlex (3dMD, Atlanta, Ga). Each participant was asked to produce 16 social smiles at 3-minute intervals. All images were obtained in natural head position. Alignment of images, segmentation of smile area, and 3-D deviation analysis were carried out using Geomagic Control software (3D Systems Inc, Cary, NC). A single image was taken as a reference, and the remaining 15 images were compared with the reference image to evaluate positive and negative deviations. The differences between the mean deviation limits of participants with the highest and the lowest deviations and the total mean deviations were evaluated using Bland-Altman Plots. Results:  Minimum and maximum deviations of a single image from the reference image were 0.34 and 2.69 mm, respectively. Lowest deviation between two images was within 0.5 mm and 1.54 mm among all participants (mean, 0.96 ± 0.21 mm), and the highest deviation was between 0.41 mm and 2.69 mm (mean, 1.53 ± 0.46 mm). For a single patient, when all alignments were considered together, the mean deviation was between 0.32 ± 0.10 mm and 0.59 ± 0.24 mm. Mean deviation for one image was between 0.14 and 1.21 mm. Conclusions:  The range of reproducibility of the social smile presented individual variability, but this variation was not clinically significant or detectable under routine clinical observation.

The purpose of this study is to develop a database for checking fixtures for automotive parts. The parts used in the fixture checking process were automotive parts such as clamper, stand and toggle. The goal of this project is to implement a database of checking fixtures parts. The project started with identifying the current problems that were faced by the designer at a design department, in a support service for automotive industries. Idle time has been the major problem that designer have to faced. All the data and information related to this project has been sought and explored in the literature review. Catia software is used as the CAD software to construct three-dimensional models for the design of all the parts in the parts library. All the parts are organized in three different sizes which are determined by the size of car body panel. Referring to the result, new libraries were developed and created using the Catia software to aid designers in the checking fixture design process. The validation of the new libraries had been conducted with the company’s design engineer to test the effectiveness, usability and relevancy. In summary, this database and method can potentially accelerate the checking fixtures design process to be faster and more efficient.

The firewall is one of the most important network security facility and is widely used as a base infrastructure in a large enterprise network. When policy changes, the administrator must find all the potential conflicts between existing policies to ensure network security. That's a waste of time and energy. Proceeding from the demands, this paper analyzes key points and difficulties in the design process for the tools, applies mature algorithm of policy conflict detection, and finally proposes a flexible and scalable design. The prototype system proves that the tool does effectively detect all conflicts in policy set, and in the form of reports for the administrator.

Satellite quantum key distribution is a promising technique that overcomes the limited transmission distance in optical-fiber-based systems. The polarization tracking technique is one of the key techniques in the satellite quantum key distribution. With free-space quantum key distribution between an optical ground station and a satellite, the photon polarization state will be changed according to the satellite movement. To enable polarization based quantum key distribution between mobile terminals, we developed a polarization-basis tracking scheme allowing a common frame of reference to be shared. It is possible to orient two platforms along a common axis by detecting the reference optical signal only on the receiver side with no prior information about the transmitter's orientation. We developed a prototype system for free-space quantum key distribution with the polarization-basis tracking scheme. Polarization tracking performance was 0.092° by conducting quantum key distribution experiments over a 1 km free space between two buildings in a Tokyo suburb.
