ABSTRACTExiguobacterium antarcticumis a psychotropic bacterium isolated for the first time from microbial mats of Lake Fryxell in Antarctica. Many organisms of the genusExiguobacteriumare extremophiles and have properties of biotechnological interest, e.g., the capacity to adapt to cold, which make this genus a target for discovering new enzymes, such as lipases and proteases, in addition to improving our understanding of the mechanisms of adaptation and survival at low temperatures. This study presents the genome ofE. antarcticumB7, isolated from a biofilm sample of Ginger Lake on King George Island, Antarctic peninsula.

ABSTRACTPantoeasp. strain A4 is a Gram-negative bacterium isolated from theRafflesiaflower. We present here, for the first time, the genome sequence ofRafflesia-associatedPantoeasp. strain A4, which exhibited quorum-sensing activity.

Using a metagenomics approach, we were able to determine for the first time the full-genome sequence of a psittacine adenovirus 1 isolate that was recovered from the liver of a dead Senegal parrot (Poicephalus senegalus) in Italy. The results of the phylogenetic investigations revealed the existence of high genetic diversity among adenoviruses circulating in psittacine birds.

ABSTRACT We present here the complete genome sequence of Trueperella pyogenes UFV1. The 2.3-Mbp genome contains an extremely interesting AI-2 transporter and processing system related to the quorum-sensing signal response. This specific feature is described in this species for the first time and might be responsible for a new pathogenic behavior.

This work describes, for the first time, the genome sequence of a Saccharomycodes ludwigii strain. Although usually seen as a wine spoilage yeast, S. ludwigii has been of interest for the production of fermented beverages because it harbors several interesting properties, including the production of beneficial aroma compounds.

Extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Mycobacterium tuberculosis has become a challenge to the treatment of tuberculosis (TB) in several countries, including Nepal. Here, we report for the first time the draft genome sequence of an isolate of XDR-TB collected in Nepal and describe single-nucleotide variations associated with its extensively drug-resistant phenotype.

ABSTRACT Deinococcus marmoris strain PAMC 26562 was isolated from Usnea sp., a lichen collected from King George Island, Antarctica. We report here the draft genome sequence of strain PAMC 26562, which has xanthorhodopsin and carbon monoxide dehydrogenase genes in addition to major metabolic pathways presented in deinococcal genomes.

Ralstonia solanacearum is the causal agent of bacterial wilt in numerous species of plants. Here, we report the whole-genome sequence of three phylogenetically diverse R. solanacearum strains, P816, P822, and P824, reported for the first time as causal agents of an emerging blueberry disease in Florida.
