Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii is a bacterial pathogen with serious implications for human health and is recognized as an urgent threat by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Total DNA from two A. baumannii clinical isolates collected over 3 days from a fatal case of necrotizing fasciitis has been sequenced to >30× coverage.

Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii is an urgent threat worldwide. This bacterium is associated with high morbidity and mortality, with limited available treatment options. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of five carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolates from human samples.

Vibrio vulnificus is a Gram-negative bacterium and an opportunistic pathogen that can cause septicemia or necrotizing fasciitis. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of 42 environmental V. vulnificus strains collected from the northern Gulf of Mexico. These data will allow for more robust comparisons between clinical and environmental strains.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of two multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains, H31499 and H31506, which were isolated at the Lausanne University Hospital in 2015 from an Albanian and a Togolese patient, respectively.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of two clinically isolated Acinetobacter baumannii strains. These samples were obtained from patients at the University of Colorado Hospital in 2007 and 2013 and encode an estimated 20 and 13 resistance genes, respectively.

Isolation of metallo-β-lactamase-producing, carbapenem-resistant, Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains is increasingly being documented worldwide; their presence constitutes a public health threat. Here, we report draft genome sequences of two New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1-producing, multidrug-resistant, P. aeruginosa strains of sequence type 235 that were isolated from the surgical wound of two patients hospitalized in the same ward.

Acinetobacter baumannii is an important human pathogen usually associated with severe hospital-acquired infections. Here, we announce the draft genome sequences of two livestock-associated isolates recovered from sewage water from a poultry slaughterhouse in Germany. Short-read whole-genome sequencing was conducted to determine the genetic basis of their antimicrobial resistance phenotype.

Infections in immunocompromised patients that are caused by extensively drug-resistant (XDR) Acinetobacter baumannii strains have been increasingly reported worldwide. In particular, carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii strains are a prominent cause of health care-associated infections. Here, we report draft genome assemblies for two clinical XDR A. baumannii isolates obtained from hospitalized patients in Pakistan.

ABSTRACT Acinetobacter baumannii is an important opportunistic pathogen in global health care settings. Its dissemination and multidrug resistance pose an issue with treatment and outbreak control. Here, we present draft genome assemblies of six multidrug-resistant clinical strains of A. baumannii isolated from patients admitted to one of two major hospitals in Kuwait.

A ceftazidime-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii strain was isolated from hospital wastewater and used as the donor in a filter mating experiment with an Escherichia coli strain as the recipient. Recipient, donor, and transconjugant were sequenced, and both donor and transconjugant were found to harbor highly similar plasmid sequences, suggesting that plasmid transfer had occurred.
