We have studied the effect of applying an external magnetic field on the characteristics of iron oxide (IO) nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized by pulsed laser ablation in dimethylformamide (DMF). The NPs synthesized with and without applying of magnetic field were characterized by Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV–Vis absorption, scanning electron microscope (SEM), atomic force microscope (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). SEM results confirmed that the particle size was decreased after applying magnetic field.

The stibiotantalite (ABO4) family includes a number of ferroelectrics and antiferroelectrics with excellent potential for applications. We report the deposition of phase-pure, polycrystalline thin films of BiNbO4 on Si(100) substrates using pulsed laser ablation. The deposition conditions were optimized with respect to substrate temperature, laser parameters, and the ambient oxygen pressure. The films were characterized by x-ray diffraction, energy dispersive x-ray analysis, and Raman spectroscopy, while their microstructure was studied by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Dielectric hysteresis studies indicated that films with a thickness below ≈250 nm are ferroelectric, while thicker ones are antiferroelectric.

Orthorhombic HoMnO3 films were prepared epitaxially on Nb-doped SrTiO3 single crystal substrates by using pulsed laser deposition technique. The films showed perfectly a-axis crystallographic orientations. X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy were used to characterize the films. The complex dielectric properties were measured as functions of frequency (40 Hz~1 MHz) and temperature (80 K~300 K) with a signal amplitude of 50 mv. The respective dielectric relaxation peaks shifted to higher frequency as the measuring temperature increased, with the same development of real part of the complex permittivity. The cole-cole diagram was obtained according to the Debye model, and the effects of relaxation process were discussed.

Nanoparticles NPSof cadmium oxide CdO were generated by laser ablation of a solid target (cadmium) in polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) solution. CdO colloidal nanoparticles have been synthesized by laser ablation Nd:YAG (1064 nm, 100 pulses, pulse energy= 400 mJ) when the solid target CdO was immersed in PVP. Structure, topography and optical properties of the CdO nanoparticles NPShave been studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscope (AFM) and the UV-Vis absorption respectively.

Polyaniline membranes of aniline were produced using an electrochemical method in a cell consisting of two poles. The effect of the vaccination was observed on the color of membranes of polyaniline, where analysis as of blue to olive green paints. The sanction of PANI was done by FT-IR and Raman techniques. The crystallinity of the models was studied by X-ray diffraction technique. The different electronic transitions of the PANI were determined by UV-VIS spectroscopy. The electrical conductivity of the manufactured samples was measured by using the four-probe technique at room temperature. Morphological studies have been determined by Atomic force microscopy (AFM). The structural studies have been measured by (SEM).

Magnetic modified organobentonite (Fe3O4/CTAB–Bent) was synthesized by chemical co-precipitation method in which CTAB–Bent was firstly achieved via ion–exchange. The composite materials have been characterized by powder X–ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT–IR) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) . The results revealed that basal spacing of bentonite was increased through organic modification and the Fe3O4 particles synthesized which covering the surfaces of bentonite .Compared with natural bentonite, the adsorption capacity of Fe3O4/CTAB–Bent for Orange II was greatly enhanced and can be easily separated from the reaction medium by an external magnetic field after the treatment.

Complexes [(dpp-BIAN)0CoIII2]·MeCN (I) and [(Py)2CoI2] (II) were synthesized by the reaction between cobalt(II) iodide and 1,2-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenylimino)acenaphthene (dpp-BIAN) or pyridine (Py), respectively. The molecular structures of the complexes were determined by X-ray diffraction. The Co(II) ions in both compounds are in a distorted tetrahedral environment (CoN2I2). The electrochemical behavior of complex I was studied by cyclic voltammetry. Magnetochemical measurements revealed that when an external magnetic field is applied, both compounds exhibit the properties of field-induced single ion magnets.

Cobalt-nickel (Co-Ni) nanowires were formed by electroless deposition in ethylene glycol under external magnetic field. The effects of initial Co (II) and Ni (II) concentration on the surface and morphology of the synthesized nanowires were investigated by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) respectively. An increase in the Co (II) concentration resulted in increase in diameter of the nanowires. However, the length of nanowires was observed to decrease. Higher Co (II) concentration resulted in a mixture of hexagonal close-packed and face-centered cubic Co-Ni nanowires. X-ray diffraction revealed that crystal growth occurred when the nanowires are annealed at 653 K for 10h.

The polyaniline have been prepared in the absence and presence of magnetic field by the technique of cyclic voltammetry (CV) on 304-stainless steel electrode in H2SO4 aqueous solution of aniline (Ani). The influence of magnetic field on electropolymerization of PANI was investigated by electrochemical properties, FT-IR spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and microstructure. The results indicate that the effect of magnetic field on the polyaniline is positive.

Size-controlled gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were synthesised with solutions of three types of Polish honeys (lime, multiflower, honeydew) and used in microwave-induced hyperthermia cancer treatment. Optical and structural properties of nanostructures were optimized in reference to measurements made by using UV/Vis absorption spectrophotometry (UV/Vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) supported by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and attenuated total reflectance Fourier transformation infrared spectroscopy (ATR FT-IR). In addition, concentrations of reducing sugars and polyphenols of honeys applied were determined to reveal the role of these chemical compounds in green synthesis of AuNPs. It was found that the smallest AuNPs (20.6 ± 23.3 nm) were produced using a 20% (w/v) multiflower aqueous honey solution and 25 mg·L−1 of Au(III) ions. These AuNPs were then employed in microwave-induced hyperthermia in a system simulating metastatic tissues. This research illustrated that AuNPs, as produced with the aid of a multiflower honey solution, could be suitably used for microwave-induced heating of cancer. A fluid containing resultant Au nanostructures, as compared to water, revealed facilitated heating and the ability to maintain a temperature of 45 °C required for hyperthermia treatment.
