Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) provide a better alternative of silicon when it comes to nanoscales. Thanks to the high stability and high performance of carbon nanotube, CNT-based FET (CNTFET) devices are gaining popularity of late. They provide high packaging densities. Not much study had been done to analyze the characteristics of CNTFET SRAM in the presence of single event upset (SEU). The aim of this paper is to analyze the way in which SEU brings alterations in CNTFET SRAM characteristics and perform its comparison with respect to CMOS 6T SRAM. This paper analyzes the impact of SEU on voltage and current characteristics in CNTFET-based SRAM cell during three different conditions —read, write and hold modes. In the analysis, CNTFET SRAM showed that even small amount of radiations can cause flipping in cells and special circuitries are required to detect and correct the errors for SEU affected SRAM.

ABSTRACTThe understanding of the conformational interaction between conjugated polymers and carbon nanotubes in solution is essential to develop the applications of carbon nanotubes, particularly conjugated polymer-carbon nanotube hybrid materials. The visible absorption spectroscopic study shows that curved carbon nanotube surfaces can induce the planarization of individual conjugated polymers such as poly(p-phenyleneethynylene)s and poly(3-alkylthiophene)s in solution. The impact of nanotube surface quality on the interaction between carbon nanotubes and conjugated polymers is investigated.

The article considers the main types of CNTFET transistors made on carbon nanotubes. The classification, design features and the main stages of the CNTFET transistor manufacturing technology are presented. Carbon nanotube field effect transistors (CNTFET) are promising nanoscale devices for implementing high-performance circuits with very dense and low power.

The mutual result of the magnetic field and Marangoni convection against the thin liquid film of Casson fluid, blood-based carbon nanotube nanofluid has been fruitfully discussed in this article. The influence of various model constraints is focused on velocity, heat transfer, pressure distribution, skin friction and Nusselt number through graphical illustration. In addition, we witness that the thermal field of liquid raises with the growing value of [Formula: see text] and this upsurge is more in single-walled carbon nanotubes and is more dominant than multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The controlling approach of the homotopy analysis method has been used for velocity and temperature distribution. For authentication, the achieved results have been associated with the numerical (ND-Solve) method and displayed. This investigation shows that the velocity profile in the case of Casson fluid single-walled carbon nanotube–blood nanofluid is comparatively less affected and the temperature field of single-walled carbon nanotube–blood nanofluid dominates multi-walled carbon nanotube–blood nanofluid.

AbstractWe describe the realization of high quality self-assembled single wall carbon nanotube field effect transistors (CNTFET). A method using self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) is used to obtain high yield selective deposition placement of single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) on predefined regions of a substrate. This is achieved with individual or small bundles of SWNTs and with high densities suitable for fabrication of integrated devices. We show that such positioned SWNTs can be electrically contacted to realize high performance transistors, which very well compare with state-of-the-art CNTFETs. We therefore validate the self-assembly approach to reliably fabricate efficient carbon nanotube based devices.

Polynylon66, as a kind of important engineering plastics, is widely used in various fields. In this work, we studied the interfacial interactions between polynylon66 and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. The results showed that the polynylon66 could interact with the SWCNTs and the mechanism of interfacial interaction between polynylon66 and SWCNTs was also discussed. Furthermore, the morphology of polynylon66 adsorbed to the surface of SWCNTs was investigated by the radius of gyration. Influence factors such as the initial angle between polynylon66 chain and nanotube axis, SWCNT radius and length of polynylon66 on interfacial adhesion of single-walled carbon nanotube-polymer and the radius of gyration of the polymers were studied. These results will help to better understand the interfacial interaction between polymer and carbon nanotube (CNT) and also guide the fabrication of high performance polymer/carbon nanotube nanocomposites.

AbstractDue to their high carrier mobilities, electromigration resistance, and tailorable optical properties, carbon nanotubes are promising candidates for high-performance electronic and optoelectronic applications. However, traditional synthetic methods have lacked control over the structure and properties of carbon nanotubes. This polydispersity problem has confounded efforts to take carbon nanotubes from the research laboratory to the marketplace, especially for electronic and optoelectronic applications, where reliable and reproducible performance is paramount. In recent years, the research community has devoted significant effort to this issue, leading to substantial advances in the preparation of monodisperse carbon nanotube materials. This article highlights the most recent and promising developments from two perspectives: post-synthetic sorting and selective growth of carbon nanotubes of predetermined physical and electronic structure. These complementary approaches have yielded improved uniformity in carbon nanotube materials, resulting in impressive advances in carbon nanotube electronic and optoelectronic technology.
