To improve the service life of a semirigid base asphalt pavement and prolong its service cycle, it is imperative to conduct long-term performance research before and after pavement disease repair. This study proposes a fatigue damage model for pavement and polymer materials and uses the finite element method to establish a three-dimensional numerical model of a semirigid base asphalt pavement structure. Moreover, it compares and analyzes the mechanical response and fatigue damage of this pavement before and after polymer repair. The evolution law is verified by indoor fatigue tests. The results show that, under a standard load of 0.7 MPa, the vertical displacement and the Mises stress of the vacant position after the polymer repair are reduced by 61% and 69%, respectively. Under a cyclic load of 1.2 MPa, the number of load actions increases from 500,000 to more than 5 million, and the fatigue damage factor of the polymer is reduced by 29%. With the increase in the number of fatigue test loads, the cumulative evolution trend of the fatigue damage is basically consistent with the results of the numerical simulation, which verifies the rationality of the numerical model. This research is relevant for providing a reference for extending the service life of expressways and improving the technical level of expressway maintenance.

With the constant increasing of traffic flow and axle load, the early failure of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement is increasingly serious in China. The bad durability and short service life of pavement have become main obstacles in road construction development. Based on the experience of successful application, the early failure of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement is solved, and the service life of pavement is increased by using of the composite asphalt pavement. To solve the design problem of the composite asphalt pavement , its mechanical properties influence results of are obtained by the factors, such as shear strain, shear stress, compression strain on top of subgrade, etc, by a lot of calculation using Shell pavement design software. These provide theoretical basis for durable asphalt pavement design based on rut-resistance property.

With the rapid development of traffic cause in our country, the operating requirement of driving load factors to pavement structure become higher and higher. The Semi-rigid base asphalt pavement structure exposed some defects and shortcomings, so the study of flexible base asphalt pavement structure is put on the agenda under the circumstances.Based on the research achievements at home and abroad of the existing asphalt pavement structure , choosing different elastic modulus and thickness to calculate and analyze the flexible base by ANSYS, gaining the law and trend of mechanics response (the vertical displacement and tensile stress) about pavement structure for the flexible base pavement of each layer foundation to provide the design reference.

This paper examines theoretically the possible mechanical response changes on both bituminous pavement structure using linear elastic method, the change regulation of deflection, stress on the bottom of base and subbase and compress strain on the top of subgrades between semi-rigid base and flexible pavement pavement. In the load application procedure, a dual wheel with the a series of pressure was chosen. The results have shown that the deflection tensile stress and subgrade compressive strain on the surface increase with the increase of axle load and they would result in serious effect of overloading on the earlier damage of asphalt pavement.

The mechanical response characteristics of sandstone specimens under different stress amplitudes and loading frequencies were tested by a TAW-2000 rock triaxial testing machine. The characteristics of the stress-strain curve and the evolution process of strain damage under cyclic loading are analyzed. Based on creep theory and the disturbance state concept, a theoretical model between the axial compressive strain, axial compressive stress, and cycle number is established. The results show that there exists an upper threshold value of stress in cyclic loading above which the specimen will be damaged. As peak stress increases, the energy loss and irreversible deformation caused by damage gradually increase. When loading to an unstable peak stress under cyclic loading, the fatigue damage of sandstone under cyclic loading undergoes three characteristic stages: the initial stage; the stable stage; and the accelerated failure stage. The parameters of the strain damage model based on the disturbance state concept of sandstone are identified by test data, and the rationality of the model is validated by comparing theoretical values with experimental measurements.

Viewing so many overload vehicles, this paper analyzes the stress distribution of asphalt pavement structure under heavy traffic theoretically, according to the main asphalt pavement structure form in our country. By using elastic layer theory and BISAR3.0 program, analyzed the mechanical response variation of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement under different axle loads. The results showed that the mechanical response and the stress indexes of pavement structure under heavy traffic changed significantly. Therefore, in asphalt pavement design, the impact of heavy traffic should be fully considered and we must take measures to control the overload situation.

Directional solidification and single crystal technology reduces material defects, improves material mechanical property and improves resistances to the high temperature fatigue, creep and corrosion. Accumulation of fatigue damage is a method of life prediction analysis and many fatigue damage models are proposed. Based on foregone research achievements, this paper presents a fatigue damage model, which could reflect material anisotropy and thermomechanical coupling effect. Based on equivalent strain, a fatigue damage evaluation method of directionally solidified and single crystal superalloy is presented and by this method, the linear fit of published fatigue experiment data is proceeded. Directionally solidified and single crystal superalloy is of strong anisotropy and crystal orientation has strong effect on component mechanical response. Comparative life of different location on component could be analyzed.

The internal mechanical response of asphalt pavement structure is difficult to be obtained because of the limitations of theoretical calculation and present testing methods. In order to get practical information of instructure layers, this paper analyzed the cumulative and instantaneous strains of layers’ bottom of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement based on Accelerated Pavement Testing and Fiber Bragg Grating sensors, as well as got the spatial distribution and time-variation law of longitudinal, lateral and vertical strain responses under controlled loading condition. The research result shows that under the moving vehicle loads, there is an obvious alternative property of tension-compression as the strain response of the pavement structure, and different variation shapes of instantaneous stain are in different layers from top to down. Also the measured instantaneous three-direction strain of the bottom of each surface are higher than the calculated values with BISAR, while they anatomizes well in base. This paper can be regarded as useful and tentative research and application on future correlative study.

Semi rigid asphalt pavement, flexible base asphalt and composite base asphalt pavement are the main structure forms of asphalt pavement. The mechanical distributions are different in those structures. Based on elastic layer system, this paper took the Shell designing software BISAR3.0 as calculation tool to get the tensile strain of three kinds of models, the distribution of main mechanical response were compared with each other using the ORIGIN8.0. Then a comprehensive analysis was made based on the mechanical response distributions of the three structures. The results show that: flexible tensile strain and vertical strain in the bottom of asphalt layers of semi rigid base structure is the smallest, as it shows better performance. It proves that the design specification adopting now is not suitable for semi rigid base pavement

After the appearing of voids beneath cement concrete slabs, the pavement loses a continuous and uniform lower support structure, and the stress state of the road panel is extremely unfavorable. The polymer grouting repair is timesaving, efficient and pollution-free. In order to verify the performance improvement and fatigue damage evolution of cement concrete pavement before and after grouting repair, a material damage constitutive model was established. The UMAT subprogram was introduced into the finite element software ABAQUS to analyze the structure under the action of moving cyclic loading, stress response and fatigue damage evolution process before and after regional grouting repair. The results show that the Mises stress and vertical displacement of the grouting repairing slab are very close to the normal state, which indicates that the grouting repair has a prominent influence on the bottom void of the slab. With the rise of loading time, the fatigue damage of the pavement structure is increasing, but the trend is gradually reduced, and the number of load times and the degree of fatigue damage are nonlinear. From the long-term cyclic loading and comprehensive analysis of the construction period, the polymer grouting repair is better than cementitious grout.
