The shared parking scheme improves the utilization rate of existing parking resources and contributes to the sustainable development of cities, but many private parking spaces that are not included in the shared parking scheme have a low utilization rate in China. In order to better promote the shared parking scheme, it is necessary to study the intention of the owners of private parking spaces to share their parking spaces. Therefore, this paper used the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and Benefit-Risk Analysis Model (BRA) as the combined theoretical framework (C-UTAUT-BRA). Hypothesis testing using the Multiple Indicators and Multiple Causes (MIMIC) model was performed using an empirical assessment of the shared parking scheme in China. The results show that (1) the sharing behavioral intention (BI) is directly affected by perceived benefit (PB), perceived risk (PR), social influence (SI), and facilitating condition (FC) and indirectly affected by effort expectancy (EE), of which the total effect of PB is the largest; (2) exogenous variables have an indirect effect on BI through other psychological latent variables; among them, different sociodemographic and economic characteristics have a significant influence on different latent variables, while the built environment has no significant effect on latent variables. This research contributes to theory building in shared parking participation intention and informs business and government leaders on how to promote the shared parking scheme through the action mechanism of influencing factors on BI.

FinTech platforms are one of the most important elements in the rapidly digitized world’s economy. This study investigates the factors that affected individuals’ acceptance of FinTech services, especially on internet wealth management platforms. The current research extends the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) published by MIS Quarterly with integrated financial consumption attributes (i.e., perceived value and perceived risk) alongside the core construct of UTAUT. Data were collected from an established survey company. The empirical results indicate that perceived value, perceived risk, and social influence are strongly related to individuals’ FinTech adoption intention, whereas performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and perceived risk affect individuals’ perceived value, which in turn influences adoption intention. The proposed FinTech adoption model could contribute to information technology (IT) adoption research by extending the UTAUT in which individuals’ performance expectancy and effort expectancy affect their adoption intention indirectly through perceived value. Finally, the implications of the proposed new model for future research and FinTech practice are discussed.

Purpose This study aims to identify factors affecting tourists’ intention of using travel apps installed in their smartphones. Design/methodology/approach A questionnaire was developed largely based on the available scales in the published literature. A total of 389 participants responded to the survey, out of which 343 valid responses were obtained for statistical analysis. Findings Significant predictors of smartphone app usage intention included performance expectancy, social influence, price saving, perceived risk, perceived trust and prior usage habits. Usage behavior was largely mediated by usage intention, except in the case of habits. Contrary to the expectation, factors such as hedonistic motivation, facilitating conditions or effort expectancy did not impact usage intention or behavior. Practical implications The study gives app developers vital cues on tourist expectations from the apps. Oftentimes, developers tend to focus entirely on the material utility of their apps, neglecting every other factor influencing use. One particular implication is that despite tourism being a hedonistic activity, travel app usage behavior is not a hedonistic activity. Originality/value This is one of the few studies to examine adoption of smartphone travel apps in an emerging economy context by using extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology framework with additional constructs.

This paper is aimed at analysing determinants of the behavioural intention of smart card adoption in the university campuses. The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model is applied, with primary data are collected from in-depth interviews and survey questionnaires with students and lecturers at the National Economics University in Vietnam. The key findings are: in an open-minded and developing environment such as National Economics University, the smart card implementation in campus is most influenced by Effortless Conditions- a new determinant combining from Effort Expectancy and Facilitation Conditions. The other factors are respectively Performance Expectancy, Perceived Risk, and Trust. By determining these factors, the Boards of the university will have an overall look on the demand and preferences of the university students, teachers, and staffs towards smart card, hence, start the smart card project and develop as one of the smart campuses in Vietnam.

Recently, Financial Inclusion has received greater attention, as it is a key to economic growth and equality, growth of the business, and stability of financial and banking systems. In the process of understanding how technology is useful for financial inclusion, the study tries to understand the elements that prompt the perceived acceptability of mobile banking among the low income and low literate stratum. To explore these elements, the current piece of work utilized the Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology and with the addition of component of perceived risk. The research utilized convenience sampling to collect data from the respondents having Jan Dhan account. The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and perceived risk have a significant influence on intention to use mobile banking among financial inclusion stratum. Surprisingly, the facilitating conditions were found insignificant. The outcomes of the research can guide banks and technology houses to develop a more user-acceptable mobile banking system. Also, the outcome will help policymakers to enhance mobile banking system adoption for financial inclusion by considering influencing elements.

ABSTRACT The Indian government is currently developing scalable and sustainable smart city infrastructures to address the urbanization problem in India. However, the smart city project will only be successful if the people accept and use smart services. Therefore, this study investigates peoples’ acceptance of smart services using a modified unified theory of acceptance and use of technology model (UTAUT). The results demonstrate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and attitude are significant factors in peoples’ usage intention toward smart services. Furthermore, the study tested the moderating effect of task-technology fit and perceived risk on the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and attitude and usage intention. The study’s findings will help decision-makers and professional accountants to understand and implement robust accounting processes responsible for selecting the right digital tools for the right reasons to enhance peoples’ usage intention in a smart city environment.

We explored the precise impacts of trust and perceived risk on the core constructs of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). We applied the UTAUT model to the novel context of the Certified e-Document Authority (CeDA) service used in the Republic of Korea. Our results from structural equation modeling largely supported our hypotheses. Trust and perceived risk were shown to be direct antecedents of intention to use, and trust functioned as an indirect antecedent. Performance expectancy and social influence were shown to positively affect behavioral intention. Effort expectancy was also shown to influence performance expectancy. The combination of trust, perceived risk, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence accounted for 55.3% of the variance observed in users' intention to use CeDA services.

Electronic tax (e-Tax) filing is one of the most interesting and dynamic examples of the integration of information technology and service provision between the government and citizens. However, citizens are often concerned about the use of technology due to their personal innovativeness, and lack of privacy and trust for online transactions. This chapter thus aims to investigate adoption drivers of e-Tax filing systems in Bangladesh by employing the UTAUT model. Results reveal facilitating conditions, trust, effort expectancy, performance expectancy and individual innovativeness as significant drivers in e-Tax adoption. Besides, this chapter suggests a new research agenda wherein perceived risks that can cause services like e-Tax filings to fail are addressed. Several factors that are known to exacerbate perceived risk were identified from the literature and thereafter shown as part of a proposed framework. Besides, implications for practice and research are also discussed for better planning and implementation of e-Tax services.

: The Internet of Things technology (IoT) in food traceability provides new ideas to solve the problem of smart production and offers new ideas for the formation of safe and high-quality markets for meat products. However, scholars have studied the combination of blockchain and IoT technology. There is a lack of research on the combination of IoT and food traceability technology. Moreover, previous studies focused on the application of IoT traceability technology, taking farmers’ adoption willingness as an exogenous variable while ignoring its endogeneity. Therefore, it is essential to study farmers’ willingness to adopt IoT traceability technology and find the factors that influence farmers’ adoption intention. Based on survey data from 264 pig farmers in Shaanxi Province, this paper discussed the factors which influence pig farmers’ adoption of the technology by using the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). The results showed that farmers’ adoption intention was influenced by a combination of farmers’ performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, personal innovation, and perceived risk. Personal innovation played a mediating role in effort expectancy and adoption willingness and perceived risk played a moderating role in personal innovation and adoption willingness.

We developed and examined a theoretical model to explain the key factors influencing Chinese customers' purchasing intention of online life insurance. The proposed theoretical model incorporated the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) with 2 external factors: online trust and perceived risk. SmartPLS 2.0 was used to analyze the data collected from field survey questionnaires (N = 315). The results showed that customers' online life insurance purchasing intention was significantly impacted by performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence. In addition, online trust acted as both a direct antecedent of purchasing intention and an indirect antecedent through perceived risk. These findings offer Chinese insurers some guidelines for designing and marketing through this channel to increase their sales.
