<span lang="EN-US">Compression and encryption of speech signals are essential multimedia technologies. In the field of speech, these technologies are needed to meet the security and confidentiality of information requirements for transferring huge speech signals via a network, and for decreasing storage space for rapid retrieval. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that includes hybrid transformation in order to analyses the speech signal frequencies. The speech signal is then compressed, after removing low and less intense frequencies, to produce a well compressed speech signal and ensure the quality of the speech. The resulting compressed speech is then used as an input in a scrambling algorithm that was proposed on two levels. One of these is an external scramble that works on mixing up the segments of speech that were divided using Fuzzy C-Means and changing their locations. The internal scramble scatters the values of each block internally based on the pattern of a Sudoku puzzle and quadratic map so that the resulting speech is an input to a proposed encryption algorithm using the threefish algorithm. The proposed algorithm proved to be highly efficient in the compression and encryption of the speech signal based on approved statistical measures.</span>

This paper presents a method for speech steganography using two levels of security: The first one related to the scrambling process, the second one related to the hiding process. The scrambling block uses a technique based on the ability of adaptation of speech signals to super-Gaussian signals. The security of this block relies on the value of the seed for generating the super-Gaussian signal. Once the speech signal has been scrambled, this is hidden in a non-sensitive speech signal. The hiding process is adaptive and controlled by the value of bits to hold ( B H ). Several tests were performed in order to quantify the influence of B H in the quality of the stego signal and the recovered message. When B H is equal to six, symmetry was found between the modified bits and unchanged bits, and therefore hiding capacity is 50%. In that case, the quality of the stego signal is 99.2% and of the recovered signal is 97.4%. On the other hand, it is concluded that without knowledge of the seed an intruder cannot reverse the scrambling process because all values of the seed are likely. With the above results, it can be affirmed that the proposed algorithm symmetrically considers both the quality of the signal (stego and recovered) as well as the hiding capacity, with a very large value of the key space.

Background: In this paper, we propose a secure image watermarking technique which is applied to grayscale and color images. It consists in applying the SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) in the Lifting Wavelet Transform domain for embedding a speech image (the watermark) into the host image. Methods: It also uses signature in the embedding and extraction steps. Its performance is justified by the computation of PSNR (Pick Signal to Noise Ratio), SSIM (Structural Similarity), SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio), SegSNR (Segmental SNR) and PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation Speech Quality). Results: The PSNR and SSIM are used for evaluating the perceptual quality of the watermarked image compared to the original image. The SNR, SegSNR and PESQ are used for evaluating the perceptual quality of the reconstructed or extracted speech signal compared to the original speech signal. Conclusion: The Results obtained from computation of PSNR, SSIM, SNR, SegSNR and PESQ show the performance of the proposed technique.

The most challenging process in recent Speech Enhancement (SE) systems is to exclude the non-stationary noises and additive white Gaussian noise in real-time applications. Several SE techniques suggested were not successful in real-time scenarios to eliminate noises in the speech signals due to the high utilization of resources. So, a Sliding Window Empirical Mode Decomposition including a Variant of Variational Model Decomposition and Hurst (SWEMD-VVMDH) technique was developed for minimizing the difficulty in real-time applications. But this is the statistical framework that takes a long time for computations. Hence in this article, this SWEMD-VVMDH technique is extended using Deep Neural Network (DNN) that learns the decomposed speech signals via SWEMD-VVMDH efficiently to achieve SE. At first, the noisy speech signals are decomposed into Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs) by the SWEMD Hurst (SWEMDH) technique. Then, the Time-Delay Estimation (TDE)-based VVMD was performed on the IMFs to elect the most relevant IMFs according to the Hurst exponent and lessen the low- as well as high-frequency noise elements in the speech signal. For each signal frame, the target features are chosen and fed to the DNN that learns these features to estimate the Ideal Ratio Mask (IRM) in a supervised manner. The abilities of DNN are enhanced for the categories of background noise, and the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of the speech signals. Also, the noise category dimension and the SNR dimension are chosen for training and testing manifold DNNs since these are dimensions often taken into account for the SE systems. Further, the IRM in each frequency channel for all noisy signal samples is concatenated to reconstruct the noiseless speech signal. At last, the experimental outcomes exhibit considerable improvement in SE under different categories of noises.

The quality and performance of lecturers apart from the quality of their education, are also obtained from the surrounding academic environment, which is related to the workspace environment in conducting Tridarma activities. The lecturer workspace is Tridarma's activities take place, it is also a space for lecturers to actualize themselves through their fields of expertise, science and works. The layout of the lecturers' workplaces related to scientific fields at the Faculty of Creative Industries differs from one another, due to the results of work activities, research carried out, and the resulting paperwork varies from dimension / size in the field of expertise / science. The standard of work space for lecturers in general is the same for all fields of science. This research method is carried out with a qualitative approach, starting by observing empirical facts about the working space of the lecturers in the Faculty of Creative Industries, and then explaining the existing conditions and analyzing in accordance with applicable standards. The results & findings of this study conclude that the activity patterns and layout in the Tel-U lecturer workspace at the Faculty of Creative Industry are associated with the field of knowledge of each study program have the same cubical pattern and facilities, with a centralized orientation circulation in the middle of the room, there is no no special work storage space.

This paper presents an algorithm for enhancement of the noisy speech signal quality. This algorithm is based on the dissonant frequency filtering (DFF), F#, B and C# in relation to the frequency of the primary tone C (DFF-FBC algorithm). By means of the subjective Mean Opinion Score (MOS) test, the effect of the enhancement of the speech signal quality was analyzed. The analysis of the MOS test results, presented in the second part of this paper, points out to the enhancement of the noisy speech signal quality in the presence of superimposed noises. Especially good results have been found with Husky Voice signal. .

Higher education plays a crucial role in the economic and social development. In order to fulfill its role, mission, and vision, as well as enhance competitive advantages in the global integration context, universities have to put quality as the top priority. Recently, many universities nationwide have been developing quality assurance system, conducting self assessment, and pursuing accreditation in both program and institutional levels. This process aims at developing suitable action plan for quality improvement based on determined strengths and weaknesses. However, this process requires a huge effort to collect and analyze data. In order to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency, the key performance indicators (KPIs) are proposed to evaluate the quality of higher education programs in many aspects. Those KPIs can be considered as a set of statistical measures of how higher education programs are performing. This paper, therefore, provides some general definitions and proposes some KPIs in order to measure the quality of higher education programs in engineering and technology. However, findings of this study can be used as references for other programs.

A major criticism of traditional institutional utilization review activities has been the lack of objectivity in assessing the necessity and appropriateness of care. The review systems for Professional Standards Review Organizations (PSROs) and for utilization review require the use of objective measures in assessing care provided to Medicare, Medicaid, and Title V patients admitted to short stay general hospitals. The PSRO Manual defines these measures as follows: Norms—Numerical or statistical measures of usual observed performance, e.g., the average length of stay for a particular diagnostic category in a hospital is 4.6 days. Criteria—Predetermined elements against which aspects of the quality of a health service may be compared.

In New Zealand, for non-Chinese speaker learners aged 5-12, the Chinese courses provided by the Confucius Institute are usually based on the premise of increasing interest, with the main teaching goal of improving students' oral communication skills and increasing their understanding of Chinese and Asian culture. Therefore, it is an effective way to improve the quality of Chinese teaching by fully considering the students' cultural background and combining modern teaching techniques with traditional teaching content. Guided by N.S. Prabhu's task-based language teaching methods, this chapter uses a case study method to explore how to use the mobile applications and other multimedia technologies to improve the teaching effect of Chinese Pinyin in a New Zealand elementary school.
