Insight on Effectiveness of Frequently Exercised PQ Classification Techniques

<p>The growing demands of global consumer market in green energy system have opened the doors for many technologies as well as various sophisticated electrical devices for both commercial and domestic usage. However, with the increasing demands of energy and better quality of services, there is a significant increase in non-linearity in load distribution causing potential effect on the Power Quality (PQ). The harmful effects on PQ are various events e.g. sag, swell, harmonics etc that causes significant amount of system degradation. Therefore, this paper discusses various significant research techniques pertaining to the PQ disturbance classification system introduced by the authors in the past and analyzes its effectiveness scale in terms of research gap. The paper discusses some of the frequently exercised PQ classification techniques from the most relevant literatures in order to have more insights of the techniques.</p>

Together with globalization, factories, companies and even countries can survive by competing with their rivals. Nowadays, technological superiority is one of the most important factors determining competitive power. This situation causes the result of rapid change and development of technology. Due to improvement in technology, humanity dependence on electricity is increasing day by day. Many new devices get in our lives, and both the continuity and quality of electricity comes across as an important issue. Different researches are carried out to make the energy more qualified and efficient. In terms of the stability of the used electrical devices, it is important to keep the harmonic amount in electrical energy under a certain value. Besides this, these unwanted harmonics cause additional energy losses in the energy system and negatively affect energy efficiency, which is an economically important problem. In this exercise, the problems in electrical systems, the damages in electrical devices caused by harmonics have been researched and various solution suggestions have been developed for this problem.

Hydraulic energy is one of the most important sources of renewable energy today. It is also a complementary source to other renewable energy sources, being the only one that offers an important nonpolluting storage capacity (through pump storage facilities). Another essential quality of hydraulic energy is its ability to regulate the energy system to allow the integration of other sources, in which the process of generating energy depends on factors that cannot be controlled (sun, wind, etc.). However, hydropower plants can damage ecosystems, especially by affecting fish within their turbines. Usually, fish cannot pass unharmed through most of the turbines. The main exceptions generally include some low head (below 8 m) turbines, such as the Very Low Head (VLH) turbine and the screw turbine, but lately strategies have also been developed for high head hydropower plants such as: fish passage facilities and fish friendly turbines such as Alden turbine, Minimal Gap Runner turbine (MGR). However, this article only deals with screw-type turbines, low-head fish-friendly turbines and how to implement them in order to obtain sustainable green energy.

The article analyzes the development and implementation of technical regulations on the territory of the Eurasian economic Union. The suggestions concerning the necessity of periodic assessment of the scientific and technical level of the current technical regulations are proposed. It is shown that mandatory for application within the territory of the Eurasian economic Union technical regulations are treated as documents that have an effective impact on improving the quality of the population life, the comfort of its accommodation, is aimed at protecting life and health of citizens, environment, they serve as a tool to eliminate technical barriers to trade, the exclusion of presence in the consumer market of the Eurasian economic Union substandard, counterfeit, adulterated, energy inefficient and hazardous products, including imported.

The article presents issues related to the determination of the continuity quality of power supply (CQoPS) for hospital electrical devices. The model describing CQoPS takes into account power redundancy. The uncertainty modeling method based on the certainty factor (CF) of the hypothesis was used to establish the single-valued CQoPS factor. CQoPS modeling takes into account multidimensional quality models and physical stages of power. The quality models take into account seven dimensions that make up CQoPS (availability, appropriate amount, power supply reliability, power quality, assurance, responsiveness, security). The model of power stages includes five of these stages (power generation, delivery to recipient, distribution by recipient, delivery to device, power-consuming device). To date, when designing hospital power systems, the applied reliability indicators revealed limitations because they do not consider all the possible factors influencing the power continuity. Estimating the supply continuity quality with the use of the uncertainty modeling proposed in this article allows for taking into account all possible factors (not just reliability factors) that may affect supply continuity. The presented modeling offers an additional advantage, namely, it allows an expanded evaluation of the hospital supply system and a description using only one indicator. This fact renders the evaluation of the supply system possible for unqualified staff. At the end of the article, some examples of calculations and simulations are presented, thus showing that the applied methods give the expected results.

Agency theory explanations for corporate political activity assume that managers distort resource allocation to invest in political connections to pursue personal benefits. While distorted resource allocations yield poor earning quality, we expect that companies with efficient governance may curb this opportunistic behavior. We used matching procedures to identify the effects of financing political campaigns on the earning quality of the firm. We assembled an original panel of listed firms in Brazil from 1998 to 2013. We found that firms that donated to electoral campaigns had a lower earning quality than nondonor firms. Firms with superior corporate governance instruments were able to reduce the harmful effects on earning quality. These results support the tenets of agency theory in explaining why firms engage in politics.

Millions of Stereoscopic 3D capable TVs were sold into the consumer market from 2007 through to 2016. A wide range of display technologies were supported including rear-projection DLP, Plasma, LCD and OLED. Some displays supported the Active 3D method using liquid-crystal shutter glasses, and some displays supported the Passive 3D method using circularly polarised 3D glasses. Displays supporting Full-HD and Ultra-HD (4K) resolution were available in sizes ranging from 32" to 86" diagonal. Unfortunately display manufacturers eventually changed their focus to promoting other display technologies and 2016 was the last year that new 3D TVs were made for the consumer market. Fortunately, there are still millions of 3D displays available through the secondhand- market, however it can be difficult to know which displays have 3D display support. This paper will provide a listing of specifically Passive 3D TVs manufactured by LG, however it has been our experience that the 3D quality varied considerably from one display to another hence it is necessary to qualify the quality of the 3D available on these displays using a testing technique that will be described in the paper.

Along with recent developments in high-throughput sequencing (HTS) technologies and thus fast accumulation of HTS data, there has been a growing need and interest for developing tools for HTS data processing and communication. In particular, a number of bioinformatics tools have been designed for analysing metabarcoding data, each with specific features, assumptions and outputs. To evaluate the potential effect of the application of different bioinformatics workflow on the results, we compared the performance of different analysis platforms on two contrasting high-throughput sequencing data sets. Our analysis revealed that the computation time, quality of error filtering and hence output of specific bioinformatics process largely depends on the platform used. Our results show that none of the bioinformatics workflows appears to perfectly filter out the accumulated errors and generate Operational Taxonomic Units, although PipeCraft, LotuS and PIPITS perform better than QIIME2 and Galaxy for the tested fungal amplicon dataset. We conclude that the output of each platform requires manual validation of the OTUs by examining the taxonomy assignment values.

SUMMARY Female aging is a process that involves hypoestrogenism time, the individual impact on each woman, and what we can do as experts to reduce morbidity and provide quality of life. This natural process in the female life cycle has been of concern to women after menopause. Changes in different biophysical and psychosocial aspects, and their individual experiences, have repercussions on the lives of patients seeking specialized and multidisciplinary support to reduce the harmful effects of prolonged hypoestrogenism. Overweight and obesity, inadequate living habits and the presence of multi-morbidities cause damage to the quality of life and impact the functional capacity. Behavioral prescription and hormone therapy are among the treatments given to ease symptoms and reduce morbidity. A better understanding of these factors can help identify groups that require more care after menopause.
