The Iqe coalfield is one of the most significant coal production bases in the Qaidam Basin. Over the last few decades, core explorations have targeted the Dameigou Formation for No. 7 coal seam (M7). Although many M7 coal samples have been analyzed for coal components in the laboratory, the systematic understanding of the components and changes of coal in the whole Iqe coalfield is still inadequate. In this study, we focus on building log interpretation models to accurately calculate the content of coal components of M7, including ash yield (Aad), volatile matter (Vdaf), fixed carbon (FCad), and moisture (Mad). Multiple regression analysis and statistical method, combined with the rock volume model, were used to establish log interpretation models of coal components. A total of 28 coal samples from ZK1, ZK2, ZK11-5, ZK23-4, and ZK36-9 wells in the Iqe coalfield were involved in the modeling, as well as well-logs parameters, such as radioactivity (GR), compensation density (DEN), acoustic (AC), and resistivity (RLLD). According to sensitivity analysis, the fitted Aad and Vdaf contents of M7 increase with the increasing of DEN and GR values, whereas the FCad content shows the opposite way. Furthermore, the positive relationship between Aad and Vdaf ( R2 = 0.59) and the negative relationship between Aad and FCad ( R2 = 0.92) as well as Vdaf and FCad ( R2 = 0.69) indicate that Aad is a key factor in coal and should be prior determined. Finally, based on the multiple regression analysis and rock volume model, we proposed log interpretation models for M7 coal components in the Iqe coalfield, these models have been examined successfully by the case studies from the same coalfield and will provide new insights into the application of geophysical log parameters for coal quality evaluation.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to identify the barriers to consumers’ intention to purchase energy efficient appliances. It uses multiple regression analysis to predict the factors that deter consumers’ purchase intention. Design/methodology/approach Five barriers to consumers’ intention to purchase energy efficient appliances were identified through an exhaustive literature survey. Data were gathered from 300 respondents from Pune city from the state of Maharashtra in India through a survey. The items were measured on a five-point Likert scale. Validity and reliability of the scale were established. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to predict consumers’ intention to purchase energy efficient appliances based on factors identified. Findings Findings revealed that some degree of uncertainty was associated with energy efficient appliance purchase. In addition to possessing lower degrees of awareness on energy efficient appliances, consumers tend to disbelieve claims made on labels of energy efficient appliances. Consumers also feel inconvenience in identifying these appliances, spending time to know about them and paying the price to purchase them. Hence, the factors – scepticism towards label claims and perceived personal inconvenience – were found to have negative impact on consumers’ purchase intention. Societal norm was found to have a positive impact on consumers’ purchase intention. Interestingly, price sensitivity and perceived product risk (which were expected to have a negative relationship with consumers’ purchase intention) displayed a positive relationship. Research limitations/implications The model proposed here is based on the researcher’s identification of the barriers. There might have been unidentified barriers that were not considered. The research does not account for manufacturing or policy-based issues that might also pose as barriers. The study encourages marketers to re-examine marketing and communication policies associated with the sale of energy efficient appliances. Originality/value The paper provides insights into the external barriers faced by consumers while purchasing an energy efficient appliance. This research enables managers to understand consumer’s preference for conventional products over energy efficient ones. It attempts to check the presence of barriers to energy efficient appliances, identified from literature in a tier 1 city of India. Tier 1 city is the city with population greater than 1,00,000 as per 2001 census of India.

This study aims to find out the relationship between coping mechanisms and interpersonal communication with aggressive behavior of students of Department of Automotive at SMK PAB 12 Saentis. This type of research is quantitative by involving 93 students as a sample taken with total sampling techniques with the first screening of aggressive behavior tendencies. This study used 3 (three) coping mechanism scales, interpersonal communication scales, and aggressive behavior scales to obtain data analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The results showed a negative relationship between coping mechanisms and interpersonal communication with students’ aggressive behavior simultaneously and partially. Coping mechanisms and interpersonal communication can predict the emergence of aggressive behavior of students by 52.8%.

The sustainability process of a human settlement depend on how the perception of its people. Jodipan condition, as a slum area in Malang City, influenced by several factors, one factor named ekistic factor as in Doxiadis theory. This research’s aim is to analyze key factor for the resident to stay, and tries to identify how this ekistic factor related and influenced with people perception in choosing settlement location. This research run by primary and secondary survey, and also helps by observation and   questionnaire distribution at two priority location. By using likert scale approach and multiple regression analysis, this research also using some of statistical test, such as T Test, F Test, and multicolonierity test. After analysis process, this research found that shell variable (such as building of the house) as the main reason for the resident to stay at Jodipan slum.

This research is conducted upon the emergence of many companies producing the same product of the same kind and function. It leads to the urgency of proper and well planned marketing strategy. This research aims to investigate how far the influence of branding, product quality, and price toward consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business. This research utilizes 5 likert scale questionnaire which is tested by using multiple regression analysis to reveal whether or not there is partial and simultaneous influence of branding, product quality, and price toward consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business. Sampling method is accidental sampling technique, in which sample of particular population is taken based on the accessibility and availability of the sample during the sampling process. Sample used is 100 samples among consumers or customers of Mang Endy Milkshake. The result shows that branding, product quality, and price influence consumer’s satisfaction in beverage franchise business.

Seaweed-Kappaphycus-Euchema Cottonii and Denticulum species was first cultivated at Sabah side of Sebatik in 2009. By November 2014, sixty one Sabahan seaweed farmers cultivated 122 ha or 3,050 long lines. Thirty Sabahan seaweed farmers in Kampung Pendekar (3.2 m.t dried) and 31 in Burst Point (12.5 m.t dried) produced 16 metric tonnes of dried seaweed contributed 31% to Tawau’s total production (51 m.t). The remaining 69% were from farmers in Cowie Bay that separates Sebatik from municipality of Tawau. Indonesian in Desa Setabu, Sebatik started in 2008. However, the number of Indonesian seaweed farmers, their cultivated areas and production (as well as quality) in Sebatik increased many times higher and faster than the Sabah side of Sebatik. In 2009 more than 1,401 households in Kabupaten Nunukan (including Sebatik) cultivated over 700 ha and have produced 55,098.95 and 116, 73 m.t dried seaweed in 2010 and 2011 respectively. There is a divergence in productions from farming the sea off the same island under similar weather conditions. Which of the eight explanatory factors were affecting production of seaweeds in Sebatik? Using Cobb Douglas production function, Multiple Regression analysis was conducted on 100 samples (50 Sabahan and 50 Indonesian). Results; Variable significant at α = 0.05% are Experience in farming whereas Farm size; Quantity of propagules and Location — Dummy are the variables significant at α 0.01%. Not significant are variables Fuel; Age; Number of family members involved in farming and Education level.

AbstractInternet addiction has become a worrying phenomenon for Indonesian teenagers. This research was conducted to determine whether the psychological factors will influence internet addiction in adolescents. This research uses quantitative with multiple regression analysis method. The winning sample is 200 adolescents. The instrument collects data using a scale internet addiction scale that compiled by Griffiths (2005) and developed by Lemmens (2009), Parenting Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) developed by Buri (1991), Social Skill Inventory (SSI) developed by Riggio (1986), and A Rasch-Type Loneliness Scale compiled by De Jong Gierveld (2006).  The results showed that there were significant differences in the parenting style, social skills, and loneliness on the tendency of internet addiction in adolescents.AbstrakAdiksi Internet menjadi salah satu fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan untuk remaja Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor psikologis apakah yang memberikan pengaruh terhadap kecenderungan adiksi internet pada remaja. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 200 remaja dengan menggunakan metode analisis kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat ukur sebagai berikut, alat ukur adiksi internet yang dikembangkan oleh Lemmens (2009), Parenting Authority Questionnaire (PAQ) yang dikembangkan oleh Buri (1991), Social Skill Inventory (SSI) yang dikembangkan oleh Riggio (1986), dan A Rasch-Type Loneliness Scale yang disusun oleh De Jong Gierveld (2006). Berdasarkan hasil pengujian ditemukan pengaruh signifikan gaya pengasuhan, keterampilan sosial, dan kesepian terhadap kecenderungan adiksi internet pada remaja.

The purpose of this research is to analyza the influence of work motivation and training on the performance of the employees at the Education and Culture Office Of Padang Pariaman Regency. In this study using descriptive analisys. This analysis is to strengthen the argumentation and logic in answering and implementing allegations that will be described in quantitative analysis, for testing this research hypothesis, including multiple regression analysis. The result of this study illustrate that all variables affect the performance of employees. The result of this research where the variable of work motivation (X1) is known equal to 1,670 then training variable (X2) is obtained equal to 1,670, for employee performance result (Y) equal to 33,196. It can be concluded that the motivation of work ad training is influential in improving the performance of employees within the Department of Education and Culture of Padang Pariaman Regency.

The research investigates how the factors affect Vietnamese consumers attitude on television advertisement of skin care, by intervewing 280 consumers. The method of Cronbach’s Alpha analysis, EFA analysis and multiple regression analysis were used with the SPSS program.The result shows that the affects of the factors on Vietnamese buyer’s behavior about TV commercial of skin care increasingly: Entertaiment, Informativeness, Celebrity, In-irritation, Credibility.
