Abstract An owner's leadership style determines how the company carries out the activities in achieving its performance. The entrepreneurial orientation behavior present in an owner also determines how higher business performance can improve success. This study aims to understand how the role of a manager's leadership style and entrepreneurial orientation in improving his business performance. This research used a qualitative Delphi method by collecting in-depth data from 20 company owner. The results indicate the owner's transformational leadership style, a group of medium-sized enterprises that have developed and are beginning to be established, directly determines the applied entrepreneurial orientation. Finally, the application can affect the performance of the business. Behavior entrepreneurial orientation; not only promotes business growth medium, but it can also affect large enterprises' profitability due to the indirect impact achieved by large companies through cooperation in the supply of raw materials for products. The impact of increasing innovation power, proactive power, and risk-taking power on business performance arise from the support of a transformational leadership style. When transformational leadership styles and entrepreneurial orientations combine, medium-sized enterprises will achieve higher performance.

The research objective is to analyze how the role of women in management in SMEs in the textile and clothing sector (TCS), in the southern region of the state of Guanajuato, manifests itself in the five dimensions of Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO). Methodologically this work is quantitative and explanatory, based on a model of structural equations estimated by using the information of a validated questionnaires applied to 103 women managers of the above-mentioned region, contributing to theoretically and empirically increament of the literature on the OE and promote it for a greater boost of business with female leaders who may contribute the socioeconomic development of the region. In conclusion, the women managers of the STC develop the five dimensions of the OE: innovation, by generating new models of garments and being at the forefront. Watering, by investing in raw materials or machinery. Proactivity because they are always looking for new ways to do the activities, they perform for the benefit of the business they lead and retain autonomy by making decisions that improve the performance of their business. Aggressive competitiveness by implementing new ways to conquer customers to excel compared to their competitors.

There has been a significant increase in the number of women entrepreneurs in various sectors of the economy throughout the world. Some women entrepreneurs registered some success stories, while others dismally failed and ended up poorer than they were before they started their businesses. The main purpose of this study was to establish the successes, failures and survival strategies of women entrepreneurs in Masvingo city, Zimbabwe. A qualitative research methodology was employed to carry out the study. Face-to-face semi-structured interviews were conducted on 40 (forty) participants who were selected by using the snowball sampling technique. Thematic data analysis approach was utilized to analyse the collected data. It was found that despite some registered failures and challenges like failing to retain staff, failing to raise adequate capital, and failing to access advanced technology, a significant number of women entrepreneurs were generally successful in launching, maintaining and growing their businesses. The strategies which women entrepreneurs employed to survive, included among others, buying raw materials or goods for resale in bulk to enjoy the economies of scale; pegging prices and selling their products in United States Dollars (USD); pegging prices in USD and selling products at the prevailing Zimbabwean Dollar exchange rate; or hiring competent staff to ensure that workers were appropriately motivated. It was recommended that women entrepreneurs should continuously scan the macro- and micro-environments to identify new opportunities as well as emerging business threats.

Abstract Tomasello frequently refers to joint commitment, but does not fully characterize it. In earlier publications, I have offered a detailed account of joint commitment, tying it to a sense that the parties form a “we,” and arguing that it grounds directed obligations and rights. Here I outline my understanding of joint commitment and its normative impact.

Dicalcium silicate (Ca2SiO4) is a major component of Portland cement. It has also been investigated as a potential transformation toughener alternative to zirconia. It has five polymorphs: α, α'H, α'L, β and γ. Of interest is the β-to-γ transformation on cooling at about 490°C. This transformation, accompanied by a 12% volume increase and a 4.6° unit cell shape change, is analogous to the tetragonal-to-monoclinic transformation in zirconia. Due to the processing methods used, previous studies into the particle size effect were limited by a wide range of particle size distribution. In an attempt to obtain a more uniform size, a fast quench rate involving a laser-melting/roller-quenching technique was investigated. The laser-melting/roller-quenching experiment used precompacted bars of stoichiometric γ-Ca2SiO4 powder, which were synthesized from AR grade CaCO3 and SiO2xH2O. The raw materials were mixed by conventional ceramic processing techniques, and sintered at 1450°C. The dusted γ-Ca2SiO4 powder was uniaxially pressed into 0.4 cm x 0.4 cm x 4 cm bars under 34 MPa and cold isostatically pressed under 172 MPa. The γ-Ca2SiO4 bars were melted by a 10 KW-CO2 laser.

Barium hexaferrite (BaFe12O19) is a promising candidate for high density magnetic recording media due to its superior magnetic properties. For particulate recording media, nano-sized single crystalline powders with a narrow size distribution are a primary application requirement. The glass-crystallization method is preferred because of the controllability of crystallization kinetics, hence, particle size and size distribution. A disadvantage of this method is the need to melt raw materials at high temperatures with non-reactive crucibles, e.g. platinum. However, in this work, we have shown that crystal growth of barium hexaferrite occurred during low temperature heat treatment of raw batches.
