Currently, the state of California has dedicated much focus to reducing absenteeism in schools through the In School + On Track initiative, which revitalizes efforts made to keep accurate and informative attendance data. Additionally, absenteeism has been integrated into California’s Local Control and Accountability Plan to monitor district performance and improvement. Given the heightened policy concern surrounding absenteeism and truancy, this study seeks to improve researchers’ understanding of the impacts of missing school for high school students. This study will be the first known study to use preregistered secondary data from a school district, let alone the first preregistered study that seeks to address student attendance in schools.

Design of this study wass cross-sectional covering 400 secondary and high school students (SMP and SMK) in Bekasi. The secondary data were analized from the baseline program of the Health Office of Bekasi. The prevalence of anemia among school girls was 38.3 percents. The significant risk factors of anemia among school girls were the age and nutritional status (IMT). The anemia risk was higher among school girls at age 13-15 years (OR = 2.73) and the thin girls (OR = 8.32).

Aim. The aim of the study was to examine the selected nutritional behaviours of junior- high school students with different body mass from the Bialski school district. Basic procedures. Based on international standards for the subjects’ BMI, they were divided into three groups: underweight, norm, and overweight or obese. We used our own personally designed questionnaire to evaluate nutrition behaviours. Results. Body Mass Index (BMI) for most of the subjects, both girls (69.84%) and boys (79.9%) was within the norms. The most commonly noted source of knowledge about health was the media, and the least popular – teachers. Overweight and obese youth declared abiding the principles of maintaining a healthy lifestyle less frequently than the rest. More than 65% of the subjects consumed 3 to 5 meals a day. The most common mistakes in eating habits are: irregular eating, snacking in-between meals, frequently eating fast-food meals. Conclusions. The studied youth declared that they adhere to the principles of a healthy lifestyle, however, abnormal nutritional behaviours were observed related to, among others: lack of regularity in eating meals, snacking in-between meals and frequent consumption of fast-food meals. The results of the study indicate the need for education about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and its impact on health.

Background: A laboratory is a learning tool for conducting experiments or observations. Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and laboratory tools and materials can simplify and streamline the learning process. This study aims to analyze the knowledge of high school students on laboratory work safety material. Methods: This study is a quantitative study, namely research that describes students' knowledge of laboratory work safety. The research subjects were students of class X MIA 1 and MIA 2 SMAN 7 Jambi City, class X students of SMAS Insan Madani Jambi. Primary data on students' abilities about work safety in the laboratory were measured by a multiple-choice test consisting of 4 alternative choices, namely A, B, C, and D. Secondary data were taken by using an interview sheet for class X biology. Data were analyzed according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, display data, and conclusions. Results: High school students' knowledge of work safety materials in the laboratory is still low, namely 61.86%. Students' knowledge of how to use the tools and their functions showed the lowest percentage, namely 55.36% (poor category), while the safety aspect of laboratory work showed the highest percentage, namely 73.71% (sufficient category). Conclusion: High school students have low knowledge in understanding work safety material in the laboratory. It is necessary to deepen the material so that students' knowledge of laboratory work safety increases.

Metode analisis yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif serta Cross Tab (Tabulasi Silang).Kata kunci: bus sekolah, kemacetan, pelajar ABSTRACTThe high urban population growth and the consumptive society towards the use of motorized vehicles is a factor in the emergence of urban transportation problems, one of which is congestion. In the city of Bandung specifically one of the causes of congestion at some point is the high operating hours of vehicles in the morning, especially in private vehicles. Elementary, junior and senior high school students who leave in the morning and evening go to school many use private vehicles caused by many things, including inadequate public transport facilities at present. As one of the efforts to overcome congestion caused by private vehicles used by the students, the Bandung City Government launched a free school bus for students. In this study the data collection techniques used were through primary survey techniques by distributing questionnaires to students at the elementary, middle and high school level in the city of Bandung with sample determination based on Slovin method. The data used in this study are primary data which is the result of questionnaires and secondary data obtained from literature studies or similar studies that have been conducted before. This study is intended to provide an analysis of the competency map of senior high school students in the Final National Exam (FNE) for mathematics subject in Free Trade Zone (FTZ) of Riau Islands province. Sample was determined by examining secondary data in the form of 2014 Final National Examination (FNE) results published by the Education Assessment Center of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in the FTZ of Riau Islands Province, namely Batam, Bintan, and Karimun regencies. Criteria of sample determination were schools with lower Graduate Competency Standards (GCS) than the regency/city GCS, distribution of public or private schools, and distribution of school locations, with a total sample of 37 schools. The research was conducted by using descriptive statistical method to gain a description of the senior high school students’ competency in mathematics subject based on their FNE scores. The findings of this research can be made input and consideration for schools and government to improve the quality of education through analysis of the FNE results. The research results show that low GCS achievements were found in geometry and trigonometry topics, especially in the skills of determining position, distance, and magnitude of angles involving points, lines, and fields in solid geometry. The mean percentage of GCS mastery in the FTZ was 22.86%, with Batam 26.02%, Bintan 18.66%, and Karimun 18.72%. The result of the interview shows that the low GCS is caused by the lack of teaching media in the visual forms or simulators to build students’ understanding and limited time allocated in teaching. The solution recommended to solve this problem is by applying ICT-based learning to improve students’ understanding of geometry and trigonometry materials and also the use of video conferencing during mathematics teacher working group meetings.
