Abstract Background HIV/AIDS is a critical public health concern worldwide. This article aimed to demonstrate th trends of HIV/AIDS burden from 1990 to 2019.Methods Data was extracted from the Global Burden of Disease study (GBDs) 2019. Estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) and age-standardized rate (ASR) were estimated to quantify the trends at global, regional and national levels. Results During the period 1990-2004, the trend in incidence of HIV/AIDS was stable globally. Whereas the trends in prevalence, death and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) had pronounced increasing trends, with the respective EAPCs were 7.47 (95%confidence interval [CI]: 5.84 to 9.12), 10.85(95%CI: 8.90 to 12.84), and 10.40(95%CI: 8.47 to 12.36). Meanwhile, the pronounced increasing trends were seen in low-resource settings, particularly that of death in Oceania and South Asia, in which the respective EAPCs were 44.76 (95%CI: 40.81 to 48.82) and 40.82 (95%CI: 34.31 to 47.64). However, the global trends in incidence, death and DALYs of HIV/AIDS pronouncedly decreased from 2005 to 2019, with the respective EAPCs were −2.68(95%CI: −2.82 to −2.53), −6.73(95%CI: −6.98 to −6.47) and −6.75(95%CI: −6.95 to −6.54). Whereas prevalence showed increasing trend (EAPC: 0.71, 95%CI: 0.54 to 0.87). Decreasing trends of HIV/AIDS were observed in most regions and countries, particularly that of death and DALYs in Burundi respectively were −15.28 (95%CI: −16.08 to −14.47) and −15.07 (95%CI: −15.79 to −14.33). Conclusions Decreasing trends of HIV/AIDS were observed worldwide over the past 15 years. However, HIV/AIDS remains one of the most critical causes of health loss worldwide, which emphasized the effective prevention and control strategies.

This research investigated the performance of the electronic surveillance system of COVID 19 and assessed its key attributes. The research results for the overall system performance were good (82.81%). The highest attribute score was 100% for representativeness and data completeness and the lowest score was 75.30% for acceptability. The COVID-19 surveillance system is generally simple and accepted by users, although the instability of electricity and the Internet, the benefit from the training on the system, and the lack of willingness to participate in the system at the health facility level had the greatest impact on simplicity and acceptability scores. The quality and completeness of the data enabled stakeholders to carry out the most effective prevention and control activities. System developers indicated that the system has achieved the desired benefit, due to the flexibility and stability of the system and comprehensiveness of geographical coverage.

Abstract Background: The strategy for prevention and control of Aedes-borne diseases relies on timely elimination of key breeding containers. There is thus a crucial need to identify key breeding containers to enhance vector control activities. The visual larval survey of wet containers has then been conducted as a routine mission of the Department of Disease Control (DDC). To facilitate this, DDC has deployed a mobile application, namely TanRabad SURVEY, since May 2016. As per an inspected place, TanRabad SURVEY supports the real-time collection of its larval survey data and processing of its larval indices and key breeding containers. Methods: Larval survey data from 2017 to 2019 were spatially and temporally collected by public health officials via TanRabad SURVEY. Several measurements were computed to identify the overall and regional key breeding containers and places; and the regional transmission potentiality of Aedes-borne diseases. The measurements for identifying essential containers were breeding potentiality, productivity, contribution and preference ratio. As for places, the larval productivity of places based on larval indices was employed. Such place productivity was also implemented for discovering the regional transmission potentiality of Aedes-borne diseases. Results: The overall essential breeding containers were water tank, unused containers, other used containers, old tyres, anti-ant bowls, drip tray of water dispensers, pet bowls and plant leaves. As for regional aspects, different regions had different essential breeding containers wherein their most common containers were unused containers, other used containers, old tyres and drip tray of water dispensers. All regions had similar experiences that villages and temples were the top two riskiest places, followed by schools, factories, hotels and hospitals. Additionally, all regions had high transmission potentiality of Aedes-borne disease as above 30 of all their places were moderate and high risk places. Conclusions: This study identified the overall and regional key breeding containers and places along with the regional transmission potentiality of Aedes-borne diseases. Beside this, the empirical evidence had shown that the breeding productivity of most containers and places in each type was gradually decreased from time to time. This was mainly because TanRabad SURVEY supported real-time risk communication to community participants and effective prevention and control program development.

Cyanobacteria are large single-cell prokaryotes that can undergo oxygen-producing photosynthesis. However, if the cyanobacteria are contaminated by nitrogen, phosphorus and other elements, cyanobacteria will cause the phenomenon of “water bloom” in the lake, which will seriously endanger the safety of humans, animals, fish and shrimps. To help lake management units to prevent and control the outbreak of cyanobacteria, this paper designed and developed a comprehensive management system for the prevention and control of cyanobacteria blooms and salvage treatment. The system consists of four subsystems: the operational reporting subsystem, the monitoring data management system, the algae environmental protection disposal process management system, and the real-time cyanobacteria monitoring system. The three-dimensional interaction between the WEB end and the mobile patrol handheld terminal makes the system more efficient and convenient. The neighborhood image is denoised by the neighborhood averaging method, and the K-means algorithm is used for clustering training, which makes the classification of the algae pictures taken. The realization of the system effectively prevented the large-scale outbreak of cyanobacteria, providing a new idea for monitoring and processing cyanobacteria blooms.

Through analyzing Dabaoliang geological characteristics, this paper discussed the factors of the mechanism of landslide in Dabaoliang area and simulated its evolutionary process. The paper could get some conclusions, and the factors of landslide are as follow: the stability of the slope which mainly composed by clastic rock not only depended on the performance of the mudstone layer but also the skid resistance of the sliding surface and the shape of slope. Under the influence of regional structure, the joint fissures which developed along the boundary of the landslide will connect the crack and benefit the permeation of the surface water. The heavy rain is one of the main factors caused the slope unstable and sliding. Provide effective prevention and control for prevention and control of projects.

Background. In 2005, Nigeria changed its policy on prevention of malaria in pregnancy to intermittent preventive treatment with sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine (IPTp-SP). Indicators of impact of effective prevention and control of malaria on pregnancy (MIP) are low birth weight (LBW) and maternal anaemia by parity. This study determined the prevalence of LBW for different gravidity groups during periods of pre- and postpolicy change to IPTp-SP. Methods. Eleven-year data were abstracted from the delivery registers of two hospitals. Study outcomes calculated for both pre- (2000–2004) and post-IPTp-SP-policy (2005–2010) years were prevalence of LBW for different gravidity groups and risk of LBW in primigravidae compared to multigravidae. Results. Out of the 11,496 singleton deliveries recorded within the 11-year period, the prevalence of LBW was significantly higher in primigravidae than in multigravidae for both prepolicy (6.3% versus 4%) and postpolicy (8.6% versus 5.1%) years. The risk of LBW in primigravidae compared to multigravidae increased from 1.62 (1.17–2.23) in the prepolicy years to 1.74 (1.436–2.13) during the postpolicy years. Conclusion. The study demonstrated that both the prevalence and risk of LBW remained significantly higher in primigravidae even after the change in policy to IPTp-SP.
