Methodology for Teaching Third Graders to Distinguish and Compose Monologue Texts of Different Types

Using the example of conducting a Russian language lesson in the third grade, the article reveals the methodology of forming the ability of younger students to independently construct monologue texts. The author has demonstrated the effectiveness of using a set of methodological techniques that contribute to the development of students’ ability to analyze and distinguish between texts of different types: narration, description, reasoning. This allows third graders to create their own texts, taking into account the characteristics of the type to which they belong. Taking into account the tendency of primary school children to play, research activities and dialogue with peers, the teacher offers them didactic play, educational dialogue and discussion during the lesson.

The paper provides evidence, that it is necessary to use different types of dictionaries, such as spelling dictionaries, pronouncing dictionaries and defining dictionaries, when teaching the Russian language to the primary school children. Specific features of each type of dictionaries are described. Further, the main methodical approaches to using dictionaries are outlined. Also provided are various kinds of assignments and exercises, which take into consideration age and psychological peculiarities of primary school children. The author places special emphasis on the role of pronouncing and defining dictionaries.

This study examines how different types of preschool experience may be related to subse- quent sociometric status in the primary school. A sociometric questionnaire was given to 187 primary school children. Those who had previously attended nursery schools or play-groups scored significantly higher than those who had attended nurseries or remained at home. The results are cautiously interpreted as evidence supporting the importance of pre-school experience for childhood social development but emphasizing that the type of experience may be crucial.

Historically, the Russian language has become a common means of communication in the Russian Federation. The Republic of Crimea is a place where the population is represented by a multinational community. At that, some areas are densely populated with a single nation, where children speak the Tatar language, that is, are essentially everyday bilinguals. The most characteristic type of bilingualism in Russia is the national Russian language, which is learned both through training and direct communication with the Russian-speaking population. Early everyday bilingualism is common when the assimilation of the native and Russian languages develops almost in parallel. The authors have received new information on the peculiarities of the acquisition of Russian and native Tatar languages in primary school children raised in a multilingual environment. It is proved that speech therapy examination of speech disorders in bilingual children should be conducted in two languages. The article presents developed recommendations for teaching bilingual children in a Russian-language school, depending on the degree of proficiency in Russian and the presence of speech disorders.


Paedophile is an issue that can cause nightmare to children who have become victims as they are likely to suffer physically and emotionally for the rest of their lives. Paedophile awareness is still generally low among Malaysians, especially children, that a creative and attractive method is required to deliver the crucial message. This research focused on the integration of animated comic and interactive multimedia using storytelling elements to create awareness about paedophile. Scenes embedded with the message are put into comic form to attract children’s attention and increase their understanding. Therefore, this study aims to develop an interactive application, called ‘i-ComPedo’ (Interactive Animated Comic of Paedophile Awareness among Children. The study adapts 3-phases research activities for the research methodology, which are analysis and design, development and testing. In order to evaluate the usability of ‘i-ComPedo’, this study conducted usability that involved primary school children. The usability test revealed that 91.3% of the children perceived ‘i-ComPedo’ as an interesting, understandable, user-friendly courseware. As a conclusion, an interactive animated comic has been developed to offer a new and innovative approach in instilling awareness among children about paedophile.

The Russian language, as the state language, is given an honorable and important role, uniting all nationalities together. For its mission to serve the unity, solidarity, and mutual understanding of all the peoples of Russia, a mandatory national educational program has been approved, operating throughout the territory of the Russian Federation. The present article is dealing with the problem of mastering the Russian language. The goal of the research is to study the etiology and specifics of writing disorders in primary school children studying at general education school and to develop differentiated strategies for teaching pupils with various manifestations of dysgraphia. Methods used during the preparation of the article included theoretical research, such as learning, generalization, analysis, synthesis, axiomatics, as well as empirical techniques, namely, observation and comparison. Results and novelty of the research consist of clarifying information about the state of the problem of writing disorders in contemporary schoolchildren, updating scientific ideas about the contingent of primary school children in need of correctional assistance from specialists; applying an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the etiology, mechanisms, causes, and specifics of various manifestations of dysgraphia in primary general school children; supplementing the scientific data on the impact of didactogenia on the quality of learning writing and the formation of dysgraphia in pupils with difficulties in the assimilation of the program learning material on the Russian language; as well developing high-performance speech technologies for the early detection and elimination of violations of written language and difficulties in learning academic courses of the Russian language.

Transmission of values and religious concepts to children is one of the most important issues in the third millennium and it has drawn varied and different views among experts and scholars in the world. Research specialized in religious literature for children and adolescents create new capacities in the presentation of religious concepts to the group. Plans have been considered to transfer values and religious concepts in the curricula of primary school children in the group in Iran. It is one of the topics that the authors note to the introduction of the minutiae of religion in the first three elementary grades. In this study, the collection and analysis methods providing content related to the minutiae of religion in reading books the first till third sections of the years 2013-2015. In addition, the plan includes aspects of other branches of religion in these books on information collected from text books that collected and classified. The result is that "definitely good and forbidding the evil" and "prayer" have the highest frequency of applications in the selected books. Further branches made of branches of religion in these books, represents the values of religious, moral and social as well.

The article reveals the results of research on the design of the educational process, which provides productive search and research activities of younger students. The problems arising for students in the course of solving educational problems in the lessons of mathematics and the surrounding world are analyzed. The value of search, research for the intellectual development of primary school children is revealed. Special attention is paid to the formation of logical thinking, speech-reasoning, methods of forming the student’s ability to control and self-control.

The article justifies the structure of the Russian language Lesson-Study for primary school and describes the potential of this technology for the formation of primary school children’s logical universal learning activities. The analysis of scientific literature and summarizing the results of pedagogical research allowed the author to make a conclusion about the structure of Lesson-Study which can include the following stages: motivation to the lesson activities; preparing for research activities and their implementation; presentation of the research findings; reflection of research activity; application of its results in practical work, and identification of prospects for further research. The article identifies high potential of the Russian language Lesson-Study in formation of all types of primary school children’s logical universal learning activities listed in a Model Programme for Primary General Education. The structure of Lesson-Study substantiated by the author can be used for planning the lessons of such type in teaching Russian for primary school children, as well as for the organization of children’s activities at the lesson. The Lesson-Study potential in formation of logical universal learning activities of schoolchildren may be of interest for primary school teachers from the point of view of lesson design aimed at achieving meta-subject educational results.
