Duties of beneficence are said to allow for leeway to discharge them. By distinguishing between two different types of leeway, Mejia (2020) identified three structurally different duties of beneficence. In this Commentary I deploy those distinctions to clarify the nature of a fourth type of duty of beneficence, one prompted by a global pandemic, a duty with a peculiar, and seldom recognized, conceptual logic. I provide some guidelines that should orient managers when they take themselves to be fulfilling such a duty on behalf of shareholders.

This article discusses how different forms of autoethnographic production prompted by diverse forms of academic self-expression can lead to different types of knowing. Utilizing five examples from the Massive_Microscopic project, where participants responded to 21 different prompts inviting autoethnographic reflections about COVID-19 global pandemic, the article explores the responses from the perspective of alternative ways of knowing, reflecting on questions of motherhood, self-care, and performance in academia. Whether visual, rhythmic, or text produced from the perspective of things, the different modalities of the prompts allowed unexpected knowledge to emerge and supported deeper and more colorful reflections. Exploring the personal experience with the pandemic is expanded by the qualitative inquiry supported by different (self-)expression formats.

Abstract The morphology of erythrocytes, trombocytes, monocytes, basophils and lymphocytes on Moorish geckos (Tarentola mauritanica) is quite similar to that of other reptiles, even though some peculiarities were detected for heterophils and eosinophils. Moreover, we found a fourth type of granulocyte whose morphology highly differs from both heterophils and eosinophils. Sexually-based differences in the relative abundance of different types of leukocytes was detected: lymphocytes were the most frequent in females, while heterophils and eosinophils prevailed in males. Interestingly, in most individuals we found intra-erythrocytic vacuoles whose structure is similar to that previously described as Chelonoplasma in tortoises and Serpentoplasma in snakes.

AbstractThe hair-like sense organs found on the tarsomeres in Chironomidae can be classified as sensilla chaetica (SCh). They are of three different types and there are indications on the presence of a fourth type. SCh are present in many groups of insects but the particular shape of their tips in one of the types developed within the Chironomidae seems to be unique. They are present in males of all subfamilies except Aphroteniinae and Telmatogetoninae. Within the different evolutionary lines two trends are found in the distribution of the studied type of SCh: (1) In the plesiomorph taxa SCh are found on P2 while in the more apomorphic ones they are found on P2 and P3 or only on P3. (2) The position of the SCh tends to move from a basal position in the plesiomorphic taxa towards a more apical position in the more apomorphic taxa. These two trends are found in several evolutionary lines. This tendency for a parallel development restricts the phylogenetic use of these trends to taxa already delimited by synapomorphies.

Abstract BACKGROUND:The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by SARS-Cov-2. COVID-19 Vaccines are developed to provide immunity against covid-19 and first mass vaccination started in early December 2020.METHOD:This survey aims to provide knowledge of different types of vaccines, benefits, mechanisms, efficacy and concerns about people regarding vaccination.230 people participated from different countries like INDIA, USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, KENYA and LONDON. It was conducted from 28 march 2021 to 8 April 2021. The randomized study was done and people from above countries who agreed to participate were included. There were 128 female and 102 male.CONCLUSION:From above survey, we conclude that:55.7% of people are vaccinated and 44.3% of people are still not vaccinated.Out of the above 44.3% of people who are not vaccinated, 32.6% of people want to be vaccinated as soon as possible. Most of the people think that vaccines should be made compulsory and more awareness related to vaccines is required.

The article deals with the problem of evidence and proof in civil proceedings in India. A number of foreign researchers focus on the issue of admissibility and inadmissibility of evidence in legal proceedings. In this regard, special attention is paid to the interpretation of different types of evidence and the legality of their inclusion or recusal in terms of judicial civil proceedings in India. Moreover, the situation is complicated by the global pandemic problem that makes the assessment of the validity of evidence more challenging for the judicial system of India and other countries in modern conditions.

This chapter presents a context-based approach for personalizing Web services so that user preferences are accommodated during the performance of Web services. Preferences are of different types varying from when the execution of a Web service should start to where the outcome of this execution should be delivered. Besides user preferences, this chapter argues that the computing resources on which the Web services operate have an impact on their personalization. Indeed, resources schedule the execution requests that originate from multiple Web services. To track this personalization, three types of contexts are devised, namely user context, Web service context, and resource context. A fourth type of context denoted by security enables protecting the content of each of these three contexts. The objective of the security context is to report on the strategies, which permit protecting, overseeing, and assessing the content of the contexts subject to management operations.

The 2019-2020 global pandemic has been caused by a disease called coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This disease has been caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2). By April 30 2020, the World Health Organization reported 3,096,626 cases and 217,896 deaths, which implies an exponential growth for infection and deaths worldwide. Currently, there are various computer-based approaches that present COVID-19 data through different types of charts, which is very useful to recognise its behavior and trends. Nevertheless, such approaches do not allow for observation of any projection regarding confirmed cases and deaths, which would be useful to understand the trends of COVID-19. In this work, we have designed and developed an online dashboard that presents actual information about COVID-19. Furthermore, based on this information, we have designed a mathematical model in order to make projections about the evolution of cases and deaths worldwide and by country.

Objectives To investigate the alleged relationship between leaders gender and COVID-19 related cases and deaths in different countries across the globe. Study design The relationship between leaders gender and percent of women in parliament to COVID-19 cases and death per million was investigated in three time points (10 months) across 180 countries, controlling for possible covariates. Methods Three different types of analyses were run: (1) Six basic t-tests; (2) Two repeated-measure ANOVA tests analyzing change over time; (3) Six stepwise regression analyses for both leaders gender and the percentage of women in parliament. Results Our findings suggest that, contrary to some research and popular media headlines, and in-line with recent academic research, leadership gender is not a significant factor in explaining the variation between countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusions We suggest that this alleged relationship may stem from an illusory correlation. We argue that the uncertainty, stress, and anxiety that prevail in these times of global pandemic may be the breeding ground for judgmental biases of this sort.

<p>In this paper, we consider sums of finite products of the second and third type Chebyshev polynomials, those of the second and fourth type Chebyshev polynomials and those of the third and fourth type Chebyshev polynomials, and represent each of them as linear combinations of Chebyshev polynomials of all types. Here the coefficients involve some terminating hypergeometric functions $ {}_{2}F_{1} $. This problem can be viewed as a generalization of the classical linearization problems and is done by explicit computations.</p>
