ObjectiveTo assess the medium-term indirect impact of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident on cardiovascular disease (CVD) risks and to identify whether risk factors for CVD changed after the accident.ParticipantsResidents aged 40 years and over participating in annual public health check-ups from 2009 to 2012, administered by Minamisoma city, located about 10 to 40 km from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.MethodsThe sex-specific Framingham CVD risk score was considered as the outcome measure and was compared before (2009–2010) and after the accident (2011–2012). A multivariate regression analysis was employed to evaluate risk factors for CVD.ResultsData from 563 individuals (60.2% women) aged 40 to 74 years who participated in the check-ups throughout the study period was analysed. After adjusting for covariates, no statistically significant change was identified in the CVD risk score postaccident in both sexes, which may suggest no obvious medium-term health impact of the Fukushima nuclear accident on CVD risk. The risk factors for CVD and their magnitude and direction (positive/negative) did not change after the accident.ConclusionsThere was no obvious increase in CVD risks in Minamisoma city, which may indicate successful management of health risks associated with CVD in the study sample.

China's socioeconomic accumulation in the last 30 years has been probably one of the most outstanding global developments and has resulted in massive new challenges for core and periphery countries. The article examines how China's rapid and massive integration to the world market has posed new challenges for countries such as Mexico - and most of Latin America - as a result of China's successful exportoriented industrialization. China's accumulation and global integration process does, however, not only question and challenges the export-possibilities in the periphery, but also the global inability to provide energy in the medium term.

In 2019, a textbook “Macroeconomics” was published in London, on the pages of which the authors presented a new monetary doctrine — Modern Monetary Theory, MMT, — an unorthodox concept based on the postulates of Post-Keynesianism, New Institutionalism, and the theory of Marxism. The attitude to this scientific concept in the scientific community is ambiguous. A smaller part of scientists actively support this doctrine, which is directly related to state monetary and fiscal stimulation of full employment, public debt servicing and economic growth. Others, the majority of economists, on the contrary, strongly criticize MMT, arguing that the new theory hides simple left-wing populism, designed for a temporary and short-term effect. This article considers the origins and the main provisions of MMT, its discussions with the mainstream, criticism of the basic tenets of MMT, and also assesses possible prospects for the development of MMT in the medium term.

This study aims to explore the factors of the implementation of Midterm-term Change Project proposed by alumni of Leadership Development Program (Diklatpim) Level held in 2017 in the Riau Province. Data was collected using interview technique and review of related documents. The informants included three parties namely the alumni as the owner of the change project, the alumni superior as the mentor and organizer of the Training. The results showed, from the perspective of implementation, there were internal factors (low willingness, seriousness and motivation, as well as alumni communication with limited work teams) and external (unavailability of IT staff, lack of support for infrastructure and budget facilities, inequality of perception between participants and stakeholders to supporting data, as well as the lack of direct attention of superiors as mentors) which is the cause of the suboptimal implementation of medium-term change projects. This research contributes to efforts to improve the implementation of medium- term change projects through an understanding of the factors that cause the low level of implementation of the project term change in 2017 Riau Province Diklatpim IV alumni. Keywords: leadership development, change project, training evaluation, Riau.
