The skin is the largest organ of the body, and it is affected by both intrinsic and extrinsic ageing factors. Platelet-rich plasma is an effective treatment for skin ageing, whether as a standalone treatment or in combination with other treatment modalities. The results depend on the skin quality of the patient, compliance and aftercare. Other factors to consider include the platelet-rich plasma kits and centrifuge used by the practitioner, as well as whether it is activated or not. In this article, Claudia McGloin will discuss skin ageing and the use of platelet-rich plasma for skin rejuvenation.

Currently, immunotherapy is considered to be one of the effective treatment modalities for cancer. All the developments and discoveries in this field up to the recent Nobel Prize add to the interest for research into this vast area of study. Targeting tumor environment as well as the immune system is a suitable strategy to be applied for cancer treatment. Usage of nanoparticle systems for delivery of immunotherapeutic agents to the body being widely studied and found to be a promising area of research to be considered and investigated further. Nanoparticles for immunotherapy would be one of the effective treatment options for cancer therapy in the future due to their high specificity, efficacy, ability to diagnose, imaging, and therapeutic effect. Among the many nanoparticle systems, polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles, liposomes, micelles, gold nanoparticles, iron oxide, dendrimers, and artificial exosomes are widely used for immunotherapy of cancer. Moreover, the combination therapy found to be the more effective way of treating the tumor. Here, we review the current trends in nanoparticle therapy and efficiency of these nanosystems in delivering antigens, adjuvants, therapeutic drugs, and other immunotherapeutic agents. This review summarizes the currently available bioactive nanoparticle systems for cancer immunotherapy.

Aging is a natural process that causes several changes in the body, especially the skin with the loss of tonicity and brightness, which makes frequent the search for longevity in society, and over time, dissatisfaction with the external image of the body worsens, so health care and skin have become a primary factor for self-esteem, social relations and quality of life. LED is a phototherapy feature that has been used for the treatment of skin hyperpigmentation. This research aims within this spectrum to analyze the results of the effect of LED light on hyperpigmentation in the epidermis. Systematic literature review through bibliographic research in the electronic databases of the Virtual Health Library - VHL: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS); Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Pubmed-NCBI and Google Scholar, using the descriptors: hyperpigmentation, LED light, bleaching, epidermis, rejuvenation, and aesthetics. We analyzed 5 original articles that present similar objectives among themselves, seeking to understand the use of LED in the bleaching of hyperpigmentation of the epidermis and its other beneficial effects on the skin. Because of the studies, it can be concluded that LED light is an effective option not only in the bleaching of epidermis hyperpigmentation but also in other aspects such as hydration, rejuvenation, viço, and skin quality.

Abstract. Lymphoedema is a common and progressive disease which causes deterioration of the quality of life of patients. It is divided into two groups: primary and secondary lymphoedema. Nowadays, the majority of patients with lymphoedema are associated with a malignancy or its treatment modalities, such as cancer surgery and radiation therapy. Accurate diagnosis and effective treatment are crucial for alleviating the symptoms, preventing progression and reducing the potential risks of lymphoedema. This report provides an overview of the management of lymphoedema.

Osteoarthritis is a major cause of disability and decreased quality of life in millions of patients and costs billions of dollars annually to treat. The current treatment options for osteoarthritis include weight loss, activity modification, anti-inflammatory medications, steroid intra-articular injections, lubricating hyaluronic acid injections and arthroplasty for end-stage cases. There has been interest in recent decades in identifying biological treatment modalities to slow the progression of the disease and preserve native joints. Biologics including platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow aspirate concentrate and adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells are among the most commonly investigated treatments. Existing literature demonstrates anti-inflammatory properties of orthobiologics, butno treatment has clearly demonstrated significant joint preservation properties, including the ability to reverse progression of osteoarthritis. What is more clear is that these injection treatments have been shown in the majority of studies to be safe. Research is ongoing to identify optimal indications, preparations, compositions, safety profiles and clinical outcomes of biological therapies. This article will review the current evidence of biologics for treatment of osteoarthritis and recent statements made by orthopaedic subspecialty groups on this important topic.

AbstractSaliva is known as the mirror of the body. It is not only essential for retention of removable prosthesis but also protects the oral mucosa from injury by its lubricating effect. Xerostomia or hyposalivation is a commonly encountered condition especially among the elderly that needs to be treated to improve quality of life in denture wearers. This article reviews the various etiologic factors and treatment modalities in patients with xerostomia.

Psoriasis is a visible skin condition of chronic origin substantially affecting the physical as well as psychological life of the person thus affecting the quality of life. To combat the same, modern medicine comes with varieties of treatment options but none of them fully cure neither give very promising results to improve quality of life. In Ayurveda, Psoriasis shares the correlation with Ekakushtha. The aim of this study is to evaluate the role of Ayurveda treatment modalities in Ekakushtha. A male patient aged 27 years presented with the signs and symptoms as well-defined, slightly raised silvery scales all over the body, mainly presented on flexors surfaces of bilateral legs, hands and over the trunk region along with severe dryness of whole body, powdery discharge with severe itching, diagnosed as Ekakushtha (chronic psoriasis) and was treated with both external and internal medications, which included Vaman Therapy (purificatory emesis) and Shamana (palliative treatment). Shodhana was given as Samyak Snehan (proper oleation) followed by Vamana Karma (therapeutic emesis), in which vitiated Doshas are expelled out through Urdhvamarga (through mouth) and Shamana was given by classical Ayurvedic medications. At the end of Vamana, Pittantik Vamana was achieved. Patient felt notable reduction from erythema, Kandu (itching) and scaling during treatment. This case study showed Vaman karma followed by palliative treatment to be a better treatment option which gives significant improvement in Psoriasis.

Introduction. Occupational chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the leading nosological forms of occupational respiratory disease. Numerous studies have shown high effectiveness of the combination of indacaterol/glycopyrronium (Ultibro®breezhaler®) on the impact on clinical and functional indicators in the treatment of COPD in General practice.The aim of the investigation the case of occupational COPD with the analysis of the dynamics of functional indicators, tolerance to physical load and evaluation of the quality of life of workers engaged in aluminum production by using combination of indacaterol/glycopyrronium.Materials and methods. The random sampling method included 20 men, workers of aluminum production, with the established diagnosis of professional COPD at the age of 40 to 60 years. The survey was conducted (Borg scale, medical Research Council scale (mMRC) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT). Functional methods of studies were conducted: spirometry, body plethysmography, electrocardiography (ECG) and the six-minute stepper test (6-MST).Results. Against the background of 8 weeks of therapy, the volume of forced exhalation for 1 minute (FEV1) increased by 14.7% and amounted to 67.90% of the due values, the forced vital capacity of the lungs (FVC) increased by 11.3% and amounted to 76.95% of the due. According to the body plethysmography (BPG) is set to decrease in residual lung volume on average by 13.4% and static hyperinflation, confirmed by the decrease in functional residual volume (FRV) of 18.8%. During the study period increased physical activity of patients. The average difference between the distance traveled in the six-minute step test before and after treatment was 58.8 m. The analysis of personal data showed that the quality of life of patients improved, the total score in the questionnaire CAT at the beginning of the study was 16.9 points, and after 8 weeks decreased by 63% and amounted to 10.7 points.Conclusions: The Results indicate a positive effect of combination therapy with indacaterol/glycopyrronium on the course and progression of occupational COPD.

The main focus of this research is on the self-concept and pedagogical competence of the teacher and its influence on the quality of the learning process both partially and double. The research method used is a survey method in which the authors go directly to the empirical level by distributing questionnaires to 47 teachers. The processing and analysis techniques used are linear and multiple regression. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a positive and significant influence of the teacher's self-concept on the quality of the learning process (2) There is a positive and significant influence on the teacher's pedagogical competence on the quality of the learning process. (3) There is a positive and significant effect of self-concept and pedagogical competence of teachers together on the quality of the learning process. Therefore, the authors suggest: (1) So that the teacher improves health and appearance because the results of the study show that the weakness of the teacher's self-concept is in the appearance and significance of the body. So that the teacher needs to be given enlightenment related to how to maintain health and fitness through the implementation of joint gymnastics or conducting group discussions related to the dirt to maintain a prime body. (2) To face future competition and improve the quality of education it is deemed necessary to further increase the pedagogical competence of teachers, especially those related to planning and evaluation of learning.
