Drucker’s knowledge-worker productivity theory and knowledge-based view of the firm theory are widely employed in many disciplines but there is little application of these theories in knowledge-based innovation among academic researchers. Therefore, this study intends to evaluate the effects of the knowledge management process on knowledge-based innovation alongside with mediating role of Malaysian academic researchers’ productivity during the Pandemic of COVID-19. Using a random sampling technique, data was collected from 382 academic researchers. Questionnaires were self-administered and data was analyzed via Smart PLS-SEM. Knowledge management process and knowledge workers’ productivity have a positive and significant relationship with the knowledge-based innovation among academic researchers during the Pandemic of COVID-19. In addition, knowledge workers’ productivity mediates the relationship between the knowledge management process (knowledge creation, knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization) and knowledge-based innovation during the Pandemic of COVID-19. Results have also directed knowledge sharing as the key factor in knowledge-based innovation and a stimulating task for management discipline around the world during the Pandemic of COVID-19. This study provides interesting insights on Malaysian academic researchers’ productivity by evaluating the effects of knowledge creation, acquisition, sharing, and application on the knowledge-based innovation among academic researchers during the Pandemic of COVID-19. These useful insights would enable policymakers to develop more influential educational strategies. By assimilating the literature of defined variables, the main contribution of this study is the evaluation of knowledge creation, acquisition, sharing, and utilization into knowledge-based innovation alongside the mediating role of knowledge workers productivity in the higher education sector of Malaysia during the Pandemic of COVID-19.

This article is dealt with investigate the impact knowledge management process, knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, knowledge application and knowledge storage, an innovation. Accordingly, a questionnaire-based survey was designed to test the aforementioned model based on dataset of 122 employees’ from the agency traveling in Jordan. Following the analytical descriptive methodanalyzed the relationship between the independent variable (knowledge management process) аnd the dependent variable (innovation), aims to know the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable. In order, to achieve the objective of the study, a 24-question questionnaire was developed to collect primary information from the study community, and then analyzed using SPSS V 22, multiple regression were conducted to test the article`s hypotheses. The results indicated that knowledge process (knowledge creation, knowledge sharing, and knowledge storage) positively and significantly affect innovation. However, knowledge application insignificantly effect in innovation, and these results are in agree with the results of the previous literature. The results have enormous implication for the agency traveling in Jordan. The study provided a group of recommendations to speed up adopting the knowledge management in agency traveling in Jordan, the results of this study suggest that firms can be better off, in terms of innovation performance, if they are based on the incentive / compensation system for knowledge activities. When traditional economic figures are replaced by indicators such as knowledge creation, participation and utilization, staff will most likely work with these activities and thereby improve the performance of the company's full innovation.

The purpose of this article is to examine the role of technology leadership in knowledge-sharing behaviour through the intervening role of internet self-efficacy and information technology support for knowledge management. The sample for the study was taken from randomly selected hotels operating in different regions of Uttarakhand, India. The findings suggest that the positive relationship between group-level technology leadership and individual level knowledge sharing behaviour. Further, the results indicated that IT support for knowledge management moderates the mediating role of internet self-efficacy such that when IT support for knowledge management is high, the effect of internet self-efficacy on knowledge sharing behaviour improves. The study adds value to knowledge management and leadership literature and provides a way to encourage knowledge sharing behaviour in the service-oriented industry.

Organizations operating in the intensive knowledge-based sector seek efficient management approaches and sustainable development practices to perform efficiently in the dynamic business environment. Knowledge management practice and organizational learning are significant factors in order to achieve sustainable organizational performance in a rapidly changing business environment. Based on the scientific literature analysis, there is still a lack of evidence related to the mediating role of the whole knowledge management cycle, including the five knowledge management processes (knowledge acquisition, creation, storage, sharing, and application) in the relationship between organizational learning and sustainable organizational performance for organizations operating in intensive knowledge-based sectors. This study aimed to examine the impact of the whole knowledge management cycle on the relationship between organizational learning and sustainable organizational performance in intensive knowledge-based sectors, specifically the audit and consulting companies in the Middle East region. Systematic scientific literature analysis, expert evaluation (structured questionnaire), and structural equation modeling (SEM) technique were used to develop and verify the research model. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire distributed among auditing experts working in a knowledge-based sector—audit and consulting companies in the Middle East region. The research results supported the hypotheses stating that organizational learning positively affects knowledge acquisition, storage, sharing, application processes, and sustainable organizational performance. However, the results verified that organizational learning has an insignificant impact on the Middle Eastern audit and consulting companies’ knowledge creation process.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of knowledge sharing (KS) and two specific types of innovation on competitive advantage in Vietnamese firms. Based on using structural equation modeling (SEM) and survey data collected from 225 participants, the findings reveal that KS directly and indirectly affects firm’s competitive advantage through the mediating role of innovation speed and innovation quality. The findings stress the important role of building a positive climate to stimulate employees for sharing knowledge aimed at improving firm’s innovation capability, and sustaining competitive advantage. Future research needs to explore the relationship between three components of knowledge management namely knowledge acquisition, KS, and knowledge application, innovation, and specific aspects of competitive advantage (such as low cost advantage, differentiation advantage, and time advantage) to provide deeper the mechanism of how specifics aspects of knowledge management connected with firm’s certain types of competitive advantage through innovation.

<p>The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational performance on the basis of 247 valid and reliable questionnaires distributed to managers at different management levels working in Jordanian manufacturing firms. The study also aimed to explore the mediating role of knowledge management as well as the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Ten HRM practices and 10 indicators of organizational performance were adopted for the purpose of this study. Knowledge management was measured by examining three processes; knowledge creation, sharing and utilization. Organizational culture was measured according to passive/defensive, aggressive/defensive and constructive cultures. The results of the study supported the presumed hypotheses. Hence, HRM practices significantly predicted organizational performance. Knowledge management mediated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Finally, it was found that organizational culture moderated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance as well as the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management. Constructive cultures play a positive role in the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance (OP), while defensive cultures negatively affect the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management (KM). The main contribution of this study to the literature on HRM, KM and OP derives from the lack of prior studies addressing the same purposes as this study. The study informs researchers and managers that both knowledge management and organizational culture mediate and moderate the impact of HRM practices on organizational performance to a considerable extent.</p>

Knowledge-Based View as an intangible resource for the company will become the knowledge capability it possesses. Particularly in the context of SMEs in developing countries like Indonesia, SMEs have a big role in contributing to the country's economy. Therefore, knowledge capability is a resource that must be owned by SMEs that should be able to encourage adopting this type of innovation. In accordance with the basis of Knowledge-Based View, this knowledge will have an impact on company performance and its competitive advantage through the types of innovations that have been adopted. The quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires totaling 120 SMEs in Indonesia and the data were processed using PLS-SEM. This study has a hypothesis that the relationship between knowledge management capability has a positive and significant effect on firm performance, as well as the mediating role of the type of innovation. The results in this study indicate that knowledge management capability does not have a significant effect on firm performance. However, the relationship between knowledge management capability shows that it has a significant effect on marketing, product, process, and service innovation. Discussions related to these results are also explained by implication factors in this study.

Despite heavy investments in knowledge management systems, people are often reluctant to share their knowledge, with knowledge hoarding being one of the largest obstacles to effective knowledge management in organizations. This paper proposes a model that examines the role of intrinsic motivation in knowledge sharing. Bringing together insights from motivational research, Self-Determination Theory and the Theory of Reasoned Action, the study investigates the links between intrinsic motivators and knowledge sharing. Survey data collected from knowledge workers are analyzed using partial least squares. The results show self-efficacy, meaningfulness and impact are important motivators of attitude towards knowledge sharing, which in turn impacts intention to share knowledge. The findings provide insights into employee motivations to share knowledge, and strategies for enhancing knowledge sharing in organizations.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the knowledge sharing behavior of faculty members of research universities in emerging economies after considering the predicting role of knowledge management enablers and mediating role of trust. Design/methodology/approach The study was conducted through self-administered survey of faculty members of research universities in Pakistan. Correlation, causal steps approach and the normal test theory approach were used to find out the role of trust among knowledge management enablers and knowledge sharing. Findings The results showed that trust of faculty members at research universities was developed through knowledge management enablers which promote knowledge sharing. Therefore, the association between knowledge management enablers, trust and knowledge sharing is positive. Research limitations/implications The current study investigates the relationships of knowledge management enablers on knowledge sharing; future studies should be conducted as an extension of this work to find out the outcomes of this relationship such as performance of faculty members as well as effectiveness and competitive advantages of knowledge sharing. Practical implications Mediating role of trust on knowledge enablers and knowledge sharing provided that university administration and policy makers should create culture which support trust worthy relationships among faculty members where knowledge sharing could flourish. Originality/value The study confirmed the mediating effect of trust between the relationships of knowledge self-efficacy, reciprocal benefit, face to face interactive communication and knowledge sharing, while there is a partial mediating role of trust between knowledge management system infrastructure and knowledge sharing.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the influence of shared goals and hope on knowledge sharing and knowledge creation in organizations. Furthermore, it examines the mediating role of hope in the relationship between shared goals and knowledge sharing and between shared goals and knowledge creation. Design/methodology/approach This study has used quantitative research methodology wherein the data have been collected from 221 employees of information technology (IT) companies in India using survey questionnaire. Structural equation modelling has been applied to test the hypotheses of the study. Findings The findings of the study reveal that shared goals and hope positively influence knowledge sharing and knowledge creation. Shared goals also affects hope positively. Further, hope acts as a mediator between shared goals and knowledge sharing and between shared goals and knowledge creation. Research limitations/implications This study is a cross-sectional study conducted in IT companies in India. It can be supplemented by future studies through qualitative approaches and longitudinal data collection. Practical implications The study makes a significant contribution to literature by considering shared goals and hope as antecedents of knowledge sharing and knowledge creation. It provides directions to managers to focus on various interventions to strengthen shared goals and hope amongst employees to motivate them to share and create knowledge that can help the organization to get sustainable competitive advantage. Originality/value To the best of authors’ knowledge, this study is an early study conducted to examine the influence of shared goals and hope on knowledge sharing and knowledge creation. Further, hardly any study has examined the mediating role of hope in the relationship between shared goals and knowledge sharing and between shared goals and knowledge creation.
