Objectives: With the evolution of knowledge networks of smokers, we analyzed how adaptive behaviors affect the enhancement of the knowledge capability of their organization. Methods: Through the empirical analysis of 228 questionnaire data from smoker-dense zone, this paper conducts a regression analysis between the implementation of different behaviors and the capability improvement, in the context of knowledge flow evolution. Results: Conclusions show that different behavioral decisions of knowledge subjects have different influences on their knowledge capability, and the routine behaviors have a significant negative impact on their knowledge capability, while the imitative behavior and innovative behavior have a significant positive impact on the improvement of knowledge capability. These effects are also affected by the regulatory effects of the three stages of knowledge flow. Conclusion: In different stages of the functional evolution of the knowledge network of smokers, different behavioral decisions of knowledge subjects will promote or restrict their own knowledge capabilities. Based on the knowledge growth expectation, knowledge subjects can adopt different behavior strategies to achieve dynamic environment adaptation and gain competitive advantage.

Knowledge has replaced labor as the key factor for productivity growth in innovation discourse. The Knowledge Spillover Theory of Entrepreneurship (KSTE) provides the theoretical foundation to bridge the gap between knowledge and productivity growth. The way regional knowledge actually contributes to productivity growth requires a theoretical explanation because knowledge capability is an indirect and intangible input for regional productivity growth. Previous research has shown that entrepreneurship alone is insufficient to drive productivity improvements. We examine how knowledge capabilities lead to meaningful growth outcomes of new firms in a region. This study examines the determinants of productivity growth by analyzing the factors of entrepreneurship and knowledge capabilities at the regional level, especially considering the moderating effect of entrepreneurship between knowledge and regional growth; by comparing different dimensions of local knowledge capabilities; and by aggregating the contribution of knowledge capabilities and entrepreneurship to productivity growth at the regional level. The empirical analysis is performed on Italian NUTS-3 regions by utilizing an integrated data set combining patent data from the EPO PATSTAT database, and regional data from Eurostat regional statistics. This study makes two main contributions to the KSTE literature by linking knowledge, entrepreneurship, and regional growth and by providing empirical results on different aspects of regional knowledge capability. Our findings identify which types of local knowledge capabilities are more important and how related innovative activity interacts with entrepreneurial activity, elucidating the mechanisms by which knowledge affects labor productivity through entrepreneurship.

Knowledge-Based View as an intangible resource for the company will become the knowledge capability it possesses. Particularly in the context of SMEs in developing countries like Indonesia, SMEs have a big role in contributing to the country's economy. Therefore, knowledge capability is a resource that must be owned by SMEs that should be able to encourage adopting this type of innovation. In accordance with the basis of Knowledge-Based View, this knowledge will have an impact on company performance and its competitive advantage through the types of innovations that have been adopted. The quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires totaling 120 SMEs in Indonesia and the data were processed using PLS-SEM. This study has a hypothesis that the relationship between knowledge management capability has a positive and significant effect on firm performance, as well as the mediating role of the type of innovation. The results in this study indicate that knowledge management capability does not have a significant effect on firm performance. However, the relationship between knowledge management capability shows that it has a significant effect on marketing, product, process, and service innovation. Discussions related to these results are also explained by implication factors in this study.
