Abstract:Digital technologies and their access possibilities are increasingly present in the subject's life, from the first days of life, interfering in the development of human beings from childhood. AbstractStandard definitions posit the sign as a discrete entity in relation with other signs and standing for an object (either physical or psychological). Thus the sign has two roles, as prompt and as substitutive representation. The latter raises difficult questions about the relationship of the semiotic to the non-semiotic or pre-semiotic, which can be resolved logically (as in Peirce) or rejected as unanswerable (as in Saussure), but which can never be satisfactorily resolved empirically as the phenomenal cannot be divorced from the semiotic. This impasse can be resolved if we drop the assumption that the sign is essentially substitutive. The assumption of discrete entities, at either the phenomenal or the noumenal levels, is a function of discredited substance metaphysics. On a process metaphysical account, the reality of the sign is not attached to the discreteness of any pre-existing entity. The sign remains as prompt and as relational but not (other than sometimes with respect to other signs) substitutive. Rather than defined as standing for an object, the sign can now be regarded much more simply as a feature of an event. This conception of the sign is explored in terms of its implications for teaching and learning.

THE BRAND OF THE CELEBRITY AUTHOR IN FINLAND | In the 21st century, the celebrity author has begun to interest researchers not only as a marketing phenomenon, but also as the literary institution’s own phenomenon. In my article, I explore the relationship of the celebrity author to the so-called acclaimed authors of modern times. In Anglo-American research, the celebrity author and the bestselling author are distinguished as separate author types, but in the case of Finnish Jari Tervo, these types combine. For almost 20 years, Jari Tervo has been amongboth the most sold and the most visible celebrity authors in his home country. I examine how the publicity and brand of the Finnish celebrity author are formed. I consider how the brand affects the author’s works on the one hand, and the reception of the works on the other. I point out the limiting effects of the brand, but I also examine how, in combining the high and the low, it affords mobility in the literary fields while it also offers an opportunity to influence society.

‘Archive’ is a totality of records, layers and memories that are collected. A city is the archive that consists of the conscious selection of these layers and traces of the past and the present, looking towards the future. Metaxourgio is an area in the wider historic urban area of Keramikos in Athens that includes traces of various eras, beginning in the Antiquity and continuing all the way into the 21st century. Its archaeological space ‘Demosion Sema’ is mostly concealed under the ground level, waiting to be revealed. In this proposal, Metaxourgio is redesigned in light of archiving. Significant traces of the Antiquity, other ruins and buildings are studied, selected and incorporated in the new interventions. The area becomes the ‘open archive’ that leads towards its lost identity. The proposal aims not only to intensify the relationship of architecture with archaeology, but also to imbue the area’s identity with meanings that refer to the past, present and future.

The purpose of this research study was to help inform the researcher’s future practice as a teacher on the influence of technology on young learners. The question of inquiry pertained to define how technology has initiated and increased student engagement within their learning, and through this, how technology has specifically influenced the creation of the 21st century learner. By beginning the inquiry through a literature review on the theme of technology and student engagement, the researcher was able to gain an understanding that technology is the motivator for children in developed, and even in undeveloped countries. In order to assess the relationship of technology and student engagement in learning, along with how digital devices influence the creation of 21st century learners, the researcher surveyed a variety of teacher candidates and university students to draw conclusions. From the research findings of the study, the researcher concluded that students were attracted to technology as it is a tool that is convenient in organizing information, and is efficient in making data easier to allocate. Therefore, the skills that technology imparted upon 21st century learners from the findings were allowing students to become self-directed learners, access and, evaluate information through critical thinking and solving data to become more engaged thinkers, and influencing leadership and collaboration skills.

Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach (CTL) is one form of approach that can be said to be capable and very suitable to be a model of appropriate learning when applying the form of material in the classroom. Learning the form of CTL is closely related to the context, atmosphere or circumstances that can be interpreted also as learning related to a particular atmosphere. Talking about the atmosphere has to do with the use of the time form also known as tense. A little interesting about the Simple Future Tense that is raised to the core of learning because of this Tense became one of the important parts in the use of Grammar on learning English where we can express or declare actions in the future. This form uses the word 'will' and 'shall' (short form:’ll) plus infinitive. Besides using the form of 'going to' to be able to declare the time to come and the intention of the speaker to do something, for example I'm going to stop smoking '. CTL's role can make learning more effective and even create a fun and non-boring atmosphere, providing experiences that are closely related to the real world of learners and using a variety of learning resources; and therefore the method on CTL can provide understanding, development of science, the develop of knowledge and contextual understanding of learners about the relationship of subjects with what found learners in everyday life. Keywords : CTL, BE GOING TO vs WILL

The history of creating technical/technological tools continues, from the days when man designed the first tools to the days when artificial intelligence was designed. In this adventure, which ranges from the production of the first tools to the development of the method of burning fire, from communication tools to the idea of society as a technical abstraction, from war tools to clocks, machines, automatons, and artificial intelligence, will be analyzed the functions of intelligence philosophically and historically. Today's cybernetic societies, where artificial intelligence is developed, are a natural consequence of the technical/technological evolution of human intelligence. In this transition period, where the creation of artificial intelligence and the anthropological future of the human species are discussed together, the perspectives of philosophical culture that are stuck between artificial and natural dilemmas will be explored. Through analysis of Steven Spielberg's Artificial Intelligence film, the meaning of cyber future perception in culture will be revealed.
