The purpose of the present study was to examine the interplay between academic procrastination, self-esteem, state anxiety and self-efficacy of the 11th grade high school students who are getting prepared for the University Entry Exam. Particapants were 400 students (220 female, 180 male) that were chosen randomly in Konya province. Academic Procrastination Behavior Scale (APBS), Academic Self-Efficacy (ASES), Coopersmith Self-Esteem Scale (CSES), Spielberg State Anxiety Inventory (SSAI) was used. Pearson Moments Correlation, multiple regression analyze, F-test and t-test was used to analyze data. According to the result, while low self-esteem significantly explains academic procrastination, state anxiety and self-efficacy beliefs don't explain academic procrastination. High academic procrastinators and middle level procrastinators have more state anxiety than low academic procrastinators. Also male students are more inclined to academic procrastination than female students.

Implementing the new educational standards requires additional motivating features for successful study of adolescent. We tested a hypothesis that school student motivation to successful study is a result of interaction between external forms of motivating, such as forms of individual and social examination of study results by the teacher, and internal forms (a keen susceptibility of injustice or “suffering”, feelings of sorrow adolescent experienced from others or fault of their own). The study involved 41 students of 9th grade. The statistical analysis of intergroup differences and regression analysis confirmed the hypothesis. We found that depending on the sense of “suffering” adolescents admit more clearly how teacher evaluate his/her achievements on the main subjects (mathematics), has great self-esteem of his/her abilities and more “response” for the choice of future profession. According to the study results, authors pay special attention to the external factors that determine the adolescents’ attitude to themselves. That is, the achievement motive and anxiety of school student can be affected according to the preferred teachers value system based on an individual or a social student achievement evaluation norm.

This investigation employed Smith’s (1996) model of performance-related anxiety to examine links between perfectionism, achievement goals, and the temporal patterning of multidimensional state anxiety in 119 high school runners. Instruments assessed achievement goals (Roberts & Balague, 1989), perfectionism (Frost, Marten, Lahart, & Rosenblate, 1990), and multidimensional state anxiety (Martens, Burton, & Vealey, 1990) on 4 occasions prior to a cross-country meet. Hierarchical regression analysis indicated that overall perfectionism was a consistent, significant predictor of cognitive anxiety. Perceived ability was a consistent predictor of confidence, and ego and task goals contributed to the prediction of cognitive anxiety and confidence, respectively. Concern over mistakes, doubts about action, and personal standards were consistent predictors of cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety, and confidence, respectively. The findings help further develop Smith’s (1996) model and suggest that the appraisal process underlying multidimensional state anxiety is influenced by individual differences in a number of achievement-related constructs.

This study aims to determine the influence of self-esteem towards body dysmorphic disorder tendency in adolescence. The study was conducted with quantitative method towards 112 adolescents within 15- 17 range of age. Body dysmorphic disorder tendency was measured using an instrument of which adapted from Katherine Phillips theories. Self-esteem was measured using Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) Statistical analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis using one predictor regression analysis. The result shown F= 27,735; p = 0,000<0,005 Thus, there is influence between self-esteem towards body dysmorphic disorder tendency in adolescense. Effective contribution of self-esteem to the tendency of body dysmorphic disorder is 20.1%

Associated with functional impairment and impaired physical and mental health, depression is characterized as a multifactorial mood disorder. In the clinic there is sadness, pessimism, low self-esteem, lack of pleasure, mood swings and suicidal thoughts and acts. Therefore, this narrative review aims to understand depression in the medical-student environment and associated factors. It was researched: “depression”; “Depression in medical students”; “Depression among medical students” in Bireme, PubMed and Scielo. A total of 431 articles were found, from 2012 to 2019, and 14 responded to: “how did depression manifest itself among medical students?”. Studies show a high risk for physicians and medical students to develop mental exhaustion, depressive symptoms, alcohol abuse, and a tendency to commit suicide. As for students, medical schools require a strenuous routine, with little leisure. Added to this is the pressure from parents and teachers and the fear of failure. At least 25% of medical students have some kind of psychological distress originated in academic training. Mayer found depressive symptoms in 41% of students; 81.7% presented state anxiety and 85.6%, trait anxiety. Souza noted a predominance of depression in medical students than in the general population. Faced with this susceptibility, teachers must be able to recognize depressive signs and symptoms in students so that there is an early and effective intervention.

Four personality traits of core self-evaluation are used to describe human character and their behavior. Personality comes from within the person and remains consistent throughout his or her life. Therefore, many research papers and academic studies were carried out to understand personality and its connection to academic related behavior. This study is examined the relationship between personality dimensions and academic procrastination. This is a survey research primarily rely on data collected from undergraduate students. For this research, female undergraduates from Universities in Saudi Arabia were selected. To select the sample, three private universities are selected from the eastern province randomly and then 160 students randomly chosen for the test. The data collection is conducted by using online survey website that is only given to the selected students. The dependent variable in the analysis is the measure of academic procrastination of female Saudi students in private universities and independent variables are four personality traits defined under the core self-evaluation; self-esteem, locus of control, generalized self-efficacy and emotional stability. Collected data is analysed through; mean, standard deviation, correlation, and regression analysis. The results of the study obtained proved that there is a significance negative relationship between self-esteem, generalized self-efficacy and emotional stability and students’ academic procrastination behavior. Also, there was a slightly positive relationship between a locus of control and students’ procrastination behavior. However, according to the regression analysis all four personality traits are significant but show negative impact on students’ procrastination behavior.

Background/Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of exercise commitment facilitated by service quality of smartphone exercise Apps on continued exercise intention and provide primary data for developing and/or improving smartphone exercise Apps. Methods/Statistical analysis: A questionnaire survey was conducted amongst college students who have experiences in using exercise App(s) and regularly exercise. The questionnaire is composed of four parts asking about service quality, exercise commitment, continued exercise intention, which were measured with a 5-point Likert Scale, and demographics. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were carried out to analyze the obtained data with PASW 18.0.
