This study aims to investigate the effects of the sources of self-efficacy in mathematics on gifted students' mathematics anxiety. The participants of this study are 260 seventh grade gifted students, who attend science and art centers located in Adana, Bursa, Çorum, Elazığ, İzmir, İzmit, Kayseri, Konya, Manisa and Salihli. Of all the participants, 51.50 % were female (n=134) and 48.50 % were male (n=126). The Sources of Self-Efficacy in Mathematics Scale was used to determine students' sources of self-efficacy in mathematics and the Mathematics Anxiety Scale was used to determine their levels of mathematics anxiety. The data were analyzed through multiple linear regressions. The results showed that of all the sources of self-efficacy in mathematics, namely personal experiences, vicarious experiences, social persuasions and physiological states, only personal experiences had a significant effect on gifted students' levels of mathematics anxiety. The sources of self-efficacy in mathematics were found to account for about 48% of variance in gifted students' levels of mathematics anxiety. The findings were discussed in the light of theoretical framework.

This research based on the developments of technology on payment system which replaced the use of cash as a medium of exchange into the non-cash system. The use of e-money as a non-cash system was made to actualize less cash society by the increase of the use of instrument and non-cash channel. However, the government had made a rule by required various costs to use e-money. As the used of e-money seemed forced by a rule, therefore, costumers might have a bad perception toward it. Hence, this research made to know the factors that affected costumers’ perception toward e-money in Indonesia. The method used in this research was quantitative method with type of descriptive and causal research. The variables used in this research are benefits (X1), trust (X2), self-efficacy (X3), ease of use (X4), security (X5), and consumers’ perception (Y). The samples are 400 respondents and using the technique of non-probability sampling which covered purposive sampling and snowball sampling. The data analysis was using multiple linear regressions. The research showed that the factor of self-efficacy and security in partial didn’t significantly affect the consumers’ perception toward e-money in Indonesia, while the factors that significantly affected partially are factors of benefits, ease of use, and trust. However, simultaneously, all factors of Benefits (X1), Trust (X2), Self-efficacy (X3), Ease of Use (X4), and Security (X5) significantly affected consumers’ perception (Y) toward e-money in Indonesia.

The objectives of the study were to determine: 1. The influence of burnout on the Postgraduate lecturers’ performance of UIN Alauddin Makassar, 2. The influence of self-efficacy on the Postgraduate lecturers’ performance of UIN Alauddin Makassar, 3. The influence of burnout and self-efficacy on the Postgraduate lecturers’ performance of UIN Alauddin Makassar. The study was the quantitative research with ex-post facto method, conducted at the Postgraduate of UIN Alauddin Makassar. The total number of population of lecturers at the Postgraduate of UIN Alauddin Makassar was 72 lecturers. Accidental sampling technique was employed in taking the samples of 30 lecturers. The instrument used to collect the data was a questionnaire, which then analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques (simple and multiple linear regressions). The results of the study through simple and multiple regression analysis revealed that there was a positive and significant influence of burnout on the lecturers’ performance with the t count> t table (2.315> 2.056) and a significance of 0.028 <0.05, so H1 was accepted. The coefficient of determination was observed at the value of R Square = 0.161 meaning that 16% of performance was explained by burnout and 84% of performance was influenced by other factors. There was no positive and significant influence of self-efficacy on performance with the value of t count <t table (1.574 <2.056) and the significance of 0.127> 0.05, so H1was rejected. The coefficient of determination was identified at the value of R Square = 0.081 meaning that 8% of the variability of the performance variable was explained by self-efficacy and 92% of the performance was influenced by other factors. For the third variable, there was a positive and significant influence of burnout and self- efficacy collaboratively on the lecturers’ performance with the value of F count > F table (3.758> 3.35) and a significance of 0.036 <0.05, so H1was accepted. The coefficient of determination was seen at the value of R Square = 0.218 meaning that 21.8% of the variability of the performance variable was explained by burnout and self-efficacy while 78.2% of the performance was influenced by other variables not included in this study. The implications of the study indicated that the existence of successful adaptation to stressful demands will prevent the appearance of burnout in working. The success of this adaptation exemplified the existence of self-efficacy that was the belief possessed to be able to achieve the objectives as expected.

This paper aims to examine the opinions of gifted children, their parents, and science teachers working at the Science and Art Centre (BILSEM) regarding science education for the gifted. The present study participants, which was conducted by utilizing the phenomenology design using one of the qualitative research methods, were ten talented students, seven parents, and two science teachers working at BILSEM. The study's data were collected using semi-structured interviews held with the participants. The collected data were analyzed by adopting the data analysis process proposed by Moustakas (1994) for phenomenological studies. The study revealed that gifted students possess a mental perception of sciences in the form of life, experience, and scientific knowledge. Talented learners want to learn science by employing experiments, projects, excursions, and observations. Based on these findings, it is recommended that gifted students should be provided with an enjoyable science learning environment to make them active, have fun while learning, perform experiments, and develop projects.

Access to improved sanitation is fundamental for the prevention of diarrhoea and other diseases. However, for a sanitation facility to be safe, its cleanliness must be assured. The aim of the present study was, first, to assess how cleaning behaviour, household characteristics and infrastructural factors influenced latrine cleanliness and, second, to assess which psychological factors influenced cleaning behaviour. In a study in rural Burundi, 762 standardised household interviews with the primary household caregiver were carried out to assess habitual cleaning behaviour and psychological factors according to behaviour change models. In addition, the characteristics and cleanliness of the latrine were observed, and two multiple linear regressions were performed to analyse predictors of latrine cleanliness and of cleaning behaviour. Latrine cleanliness was determined by cleaning behaviour, the possibility of locking the door, the height of the superstructure, the material of the superstructure and the availability of an even slab. The number of households or people sharing the latrine was not influential. Commitment to cleaning, satisfaction with the cleanliness of the latrine and self-efficacy determined habitual cleaning behaviour. Interventions focussing on commitment, self-efficacy and satisfaction with a clean latrine like public commitment or guided practice interventions are recommended to promote cleaning behaviour.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among seventh grade students’ mathematics self-efficacy, mathematics anxiety, attitudes towards mathematics, and mathematics achievement with respect to gender and school type. In order to examine the difference in self-efficacy, anxiety, attitude and achievement in terms of gender and school type, and two-way ANOVA were performed. In addition, multiple regression analysis was run to investigate the role of mathematics self-efficacy, anxiety, attitude, gender and school type on predicting mathematics achievement of seventh grade students. Results revealed that there was a significant main effect of gender on mean self-efficacy scores, attitude scores, anxiety scores and mathematics achievement. However, school type did not have significant main effect on mean self-efficacy scores, anxiety scores, and achievement scores but have significant effect on attitude scores. It is believed that explaining differences in mathematics performance of students with the help of emotional parameters will give valuable implications for the teachers.

This research was carried out to reveal the bioethical values that special, talented students have about the socioscientific issues that they may encounter in everyday life. Scanning model was used in the research from quantitative research methods. The study's working group is composed of special talented fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth-grade students (N = 100) who have already been diagnosed with a special talent individual in the 2017-2018 academic year and who continue to science and art centers. The Bioethics Value Inventory developed by Kurt (2011) was used as a data collection tool. The inventory consists of five scenarios and contains frequently encountered dilemmas. Scenario issues include active and passive euthanasia, organ donation, GMO products, embryology technologies. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were used for the answers given by the students to the script. Besides, Chi-square test was applied by SPSS package program to determine whether there is a difference in bioethical value and main decision options according to gender, grade level, mother education level and father education level. According to the scenario in the inventory, the students' ethical values (The Utilitarian, The rights, The justice, The virtue, The normative, The theological, preference for natural, The science and technology-based, Belief in Humans' Superiority to Other Living Beings) were calculated by calculating percentages. There are various outcomes in the Chi-square test for each scenario. Despite the fact that private/gifted individuals are few in the society, they need to develop their ethical values, especially when considering the contribution each country can make. For this reason, the ethical values of special, talented individuals should first be identified in their current bioethics, and then the bioethical value education should be given to the privatized programs directed to them. Nowadays, with the emphasis on bioethics education, it is expected that the study will be a source of many kinds of researchers on bioethics education of specially talented children. The study is becoming important in these aspects.

This study explored understandings shared by fifth-grade gifted students as they read the book Restart, which explores bullying. Students read, created representations, and discussed the text. Grounded by Langer’s stances of envisionment, this descriptive case study analyzed student representations and conversations. Each of the stances was represented with most responses being represented in Stances 1 (getting a sense of the text), 2 (interpreting text), and 4 (analyzing the text). In addition, most students viewed bullies and their behavior as being in a fixed state, which was tied to the perceived power a bully held. The results from this study have implications for teachers who work with gifted and talented students, counselors who work with students in mental health and resilience programs, and the collaboration of these school personnel.

The “EncycloMEdia” project provides a stimulating project-based opportunity for gifted and talented students in the middle and upper grades. Its first component is an arts-integration piece in the form of an altered book. The second component is a cumulative assessment document containing students’ text-based analyses that correspond to the entries in the altered book. Both components of the project require students to develop valuable critical thinking and writing skills. This integrated, project-based unit can be modified to address any subject area. Detailed descriptions of the content, process, and product are included so educators can implement this idea with their own gifted students.
