The aim of this research is to reveal the perceptions of 12th gradevet students about their internship activity and occupational skill training by using metaphors. The universe of the research is 12 th grade vocational and technical high school students in Afyon. In analyzing process content analysis, which is one of the quantitive analysis methods, wasused. According to the results students identified internship and occupational skill training with metaphors such as slavery, experience, funandent ertainment, useless and meaningless. Students’ metaphors such as “slave, torture, grave punishment, share cropper and hodman indicate that students have problems in internship training, the working conditions are not good it heyareseen as cheap work-force and they are not valued. Furthermore students’ metaphors such as “artificial respiration, marsh, broken glass, harassment Show that there is an mismatch between students’ need sand firms’ needs. However, students’ metaphors of internship’ spreparing them for work life, more experience, learning of the job and earning moneys how that students have good attitudes towards the jobs they chose by interiorizing them.Extended English abstract is in the end of PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı, mesleki ve teknik ortaöğretim kurumlarının 12. sınıfına devam eden öğrencilerin işletmelerdeki staj ve beceri kazanma eğitimi algılarını metaforlar yoluyla ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini Afyonkarahisar ilinde mesleki ve teknik liselere devam eden 12.sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Verilerin analizinde nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden içerik analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; öğrenciler, staj ve beceri eğitimini, kölelik, tecrübe, keyif ve eğlence, gereksiz ve anlamsız gibi metaforlarla tanımlamışlardır. Öğrencilerin de staj/beceri eğitimine ilişkin “köle, işkence, kabir azabı, maraba, amele” gibi metaforları staj eğitiminde sorunlar yaşandığı, çalışma koşullarının uygun olmadığı, ucuz işgücü olarak görüldüğü ve değer verilmediğinin göstergeleri niteliğindedir. Yine staj ve beceri eğitimi alan öğrencilerin “suni solunum, bataklık, kırık bardak, usandırma, patlıcan yoğurma” gibi metaforları, öğrencilerin beklentileri ile işletmelerin beklentileri arasında bir uyumsuzluk olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bununla birlikte, öğrencilerin, staj/beceri eğitim çalışmalarının kişiyi iş yaşamına hazırladığı, tecrübesini arttırdığı, mesleği öğrendiği, para kazandırdığı yönündeki metaforları, staj/beceri eğitimi ile seçmiş olduğu mesleği içselleştirerek olumlu bir tutum içerisinde olduklarını göstermektedir.

The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of introduction of the physical computing strategy of Arduino Boards in a program design course on coding literacy and the effectiveness of the application in technical high school students. This study selected two classes of twelfth-grade students enrolled in a program design course at a technical high school in Southern Taiwan as the samples. One class was the control group (43 students), and the other was the experimental group (42 students). During the 18-week course, the control group carried out a DBL (design-based learning) programming project, and the experimental group carried out the DBL programming project using the physical computing strategy of Arduino boards. Pre- and posttests and a questionnaire survey were carried out, while ANCOVA (analysis of covariance) was used for evaluation purposes. In the course, students in the experimental group were randomly selected for semi-structured interviews to understand their learning status and to perform qualitative analysis and summarization. This study proposed the physical computing strategy of Arduino boards, featuring staged teaching content, practical teaching activities, and real themes and problem-solving tasks. The results show that the coding literacy of students in the different teaching strategy groups was significantly improved. However, in the Arduino course on DBL programming, the students in the experimental group had a significantly higher learning efficiency in coding literacy than those in the control group. Moreover, according to the qualitative analysis using student interviews, Arduino boards were found to improve students’ motivation to learn coding and to aid in systematically guiding students toward improving their coding literacy by combining their learning with DBL theory. Thus, Arduino technology can be effectively used to improve students’ programming abilities and their operational thinking in practically applying programming theories.

This research, which was conducted in order to reveal the cognitive structures of high school students regarding the concept of energy through the word association test, was designed in a survey model. Word association test was used as a data collection tool. After the necessary information was given to the students, they were given three minutes and they were asked to write the first words that came to mind about the key concept. The study group of the research consists of 202 students studying in a high school in the province of Malatya in the 2019-2020 academic year. 58 of these students are 9th grade, 46 are 10th grade, 45 are 11th grade and 53 are 12th grade. While choosing the study group of the research, one of the purposeful sampling types was chosen based on easily accessible situation sampling. The words obtained related to the concept of energy are tabulated using Microsoft office excel program. The cut-off points of the tables, which were examined in detail and repeated words were taken into account, were determined. Concept networks were created in line with the determined cut-off points. In the research, 189 different words were produced for the concept of energy by high school students. While 114 of these words were not included in the analysis because they had 4 or less frequencies, 75 words were included in the analysis. Among the words included in the analysis, the most repeated word in the 9th grade was “petrol” (f = 30), the most repeated word in the 10th grade was “fossil fuel” (24), the most repeated word in the 11th grade “electricity” (19), the most repeated word in the 12th grade was found to be “potential” (28). In the comparison between the classes, a difference in quantity and quality is observed. It has been observed that as the grade level increases, the quality of the answers given increases.

The pedagogical usability is an important characteristic of applications that support learning as it relates to the added value students perceive while using it for learning. A good pedagogical usability means that an application has more chances to be accepted and used by the students thus raising the possibilities that students actually will learn with it. However important, this concept tends to be neglected by many authors. In this work we show how this concept can be applied to evaluate an application by presenting a real example of an application that has been re-designed to improve its usability, thus showing how pedagogical usability can be operationalized to be applied in general. The application shown in this work is called RedCoMulApp (Reading Collaborative Multiple-option Application) and its goal is to raise the reading comprehension ability of 12th grade high school students. In order to capture the pedagogical usability, we used 12 metrics to design a questionnaire with 26 questions to be answered with a 5-point Likert-scale, plus two open-ended questions to capture aspects that were positively valued, and those that should be improved. The results for the pedagogical usability allow us to validate that the design of the application was perceived by the students as pedagogically useful to learning about reading comprehension.

The background of this research is the lack of students' understanding of Sundanese sentences, they are considered confused in selecting the spelling, words or appropriate sentence patterns. This research aims to describe the form and structure of sentences in articles written by students. The method used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative approach, with the techniques used in data collecting are test technique and record keeping technique. The result of this research are, first, there is a description of the sentence forms in the article. Second, the structure of Sundanese sentences found in student articels. The result of this research can be used as learning material for teachers to introduce Sundanese grammar to students especially 12th grade in twelve senior high school students IPS 2. AbstrakLatar belakang penelitian ini yaitu kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap kalimat-kalimat bahasa Sunda dalam memilih ejaan, kata, ataupun struktur kalimat yang sesuai. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan struktur kalimat dalam artikel karangan siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu teknik tes dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu pertama, adanya deskripsi tentang bentuk-bentuk kalimat yang terbagi menjadi kalimat tunggal dan kalimat majemuk. Kedua, struktur kalimat bahasa Sunda yang ditemukan pada artikel siswa SMA kelas XII terdiri atas fungsi dan kategori. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan pembelajaran guru untuk mengenalkan tata bahasa Sunda kepada siswa khususnya di SMAN 12 Bandung kelas XII IPS 2.
