Problems in the cultivation of plants pakchoy caused by the influence of the physical environment such as climate, wind, temperature, the intensity of solar radiation, humidity, and soil. The research aims to know types of mulch and patterns of the plant spacing for optimizing on growth and yield of pakchoy. This experiment had been conducted in the experimental field Margahayu, Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran, Lembang on September-November 2016. The design of the research which used was randomized block design factorial with 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is “Types of Mulch”, the use of M0 (no mulch), M1 (black silver plastic mulch), and M2 (rice straw mulch). The second factor is “The Plant Spacing Patterns”, which are J0 (10x10 cm_triangle), J1 (20x20 cm_square), and J2 (30x30 cm_hexagonal). Data was analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT) at α=5%. The result showed that the use of black silver plastic mulch and spacing pattern of 20x20 cm (square) is a combination of the best treatment because it has the fresh weight of the canopy and the fresh weight of the roots of the most highest when compared to treatment with a combination of other, namely fresh weight of canopy 5,02 kg and weight of fresh roots 253,6 g.

This research aims 1) To determine the effect of interaction of different plant spacing and the provision of mulch to growth and yield of tomato plants. 2) To know the different spacing affect the growth and yield of tomato plants. 3) To know the use of mulch type effect on growth and yield of tomato plants. This research was conducted by using Randomized Block Design in Factorial (RAK) with 2 factors, first factor is plant spacing (J) consisting of 3 levels ie 40x30 cm (J1), 40x50 cm (J2), 40x70 cm (J3) . The second factor is mulch (M) consisting of 3 levels ie: without mulch (M0 / control), straw mulch (M1), plastic mulch (M2). The variables observed were plant height, number of branches, number of bunches, number of fruit, and fruit weight. Data were analyzed by using variance analysis (Anova), 5% level. The results showed that: There was no interaction between plant spacing and mulch on growth and yield of tomato plants. Treatment spacing 40x50 (J2) effect on the number of bunches of 35 HST, the weight of the first harvest fruit and total fruit weight. The use of straw mulch type (M1) has an effect on plant height, number of branches, number of 35 HST bunches, and total fruit weight.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of plant spacing on growth and yield of scallions. The experiment was designed in a randomized block design consisting of six form spacing treatments namely square 20 cm x 20 cm (BJ1), rectangle 25 cm x 16 cm (BJ2), rectangle 40 cm x 10 cm (BJ3), rectangle 30 cm x 30 cm (BJ4), rectangle 36 cm x 25 cm (BJ5), and rectangle 40 cm x 22.5 cm (BJ6) which were repeated four times.������������ The results showed that the spacing significantly affected plant height, number of tillers, fresh weight per plant and fresh weight per plot. Forms of plant spacing on 900 cm<sup>2</sup>/plant area, such as square 30 cm x 30 cm, rectangle 36 cm x 25 cm, and rectangle 40 cm x 22.5 cm produced plant height, number of tillers, fresh weight per plant, and fresh weight per plot better than spacing to a range area of 400 cm<sup>2</sup>/plant. Furthermore, form of a rectangular spacing of 36 cm x 25 cm (BJ5) produced the highest plant height, number of tillers, fresh weight per plant and fresh weight per plot compared to other treatments.

The study was conducted in Pepara Village, Tanah Grogot District, Paser Regency. The research was conducted from October 2018 to February 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of planting distance and mulch use on the growth and yield of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). This research was in the form of an experiment using a Randomized Block Design arranged in factorial two factors with three replications. The first factor is the treatment of plant spacing with three levels, namely j1 = 60 x 60 cm, j2 = 60 x 70 cm, j3 = 60 x 80 cm. The second factor is the use of mulch which consists of 3 levels, namely m1 = no mulch, m2 = rice straw mulch, m3 = silver black plastic mulch.  Based on the results of the study showed the results that plant spacing had a very significant effect on the height of Chilli plants at the age of 2 MST and 4 MST, the number of productive branches, the number of fruits per crop of the second harvest sample, the weight of the fruit per crop of the second harvest sample, weight of fruit per bed and weight of fruit per hectare. The use of mulch also has a very significant effect on plant height at ages 2 MST, 4 MST, number of productive branches, the weight of fruit per crop of the second harvest sample, weight of fruit per bed and weight of fruit per hectare. While the interaction between the two plant spacing treatments with the use of mulch had no significant effect on plant height at ages 2 MST, 4 MST, 6 MST, the number of proactive branches, the number of fruit planted samples, the weight of fruit planted samples, fruit weight per bed and fruit weight per hectare.

<em>Radish (Raphanus sativus L.) is popular in the world as a root vegetable. In Indonesia, the yield of radish is low due to several factors such as the cultivation system. Fertilization and mulching are among the cultivation system which are widely known to improve crop growth and yield. The research aimed to study the effect of bokashi-fertilizer and mulch combination on yield of radish (Raphanus sativus L.). A field experiment was conducted at the Experimental Garden of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology Faculty, The State University of Papua, Manokwari. This experiment was set up in a randomized block design, consisting of three kinds of bokashi namely firewood/ashwood-bokashi (B1), firewood-bokashi (B2), ashwood-bokashi (B3) and four kinds of mulches consist of transparent plastic mulch (M1), black/silver plastic mulch (M2), gliricida mulch (M3) and imperata mulch (M4). The overall treatments were as follows: control, B1M1, B1M2, B1M3, B1M4, B2M1, B2M2, B2M3, B2M4, B3M1, B3M2, B3M3, B3M4. The results show that yield of radish was not affected by application of the bokashi and mulch combination. Even though, no statistically significant, the application of bokashi and mulch increased plant fresh weight by 59%, tuber fresh weight per plant 61.28%, leaf weight 45.79%, tuber length 19.38% and tuber diameter 22.38% compared to control.</em>

<p>Arrowroot  able  to  be  alternative  food  because  it  has  high  enough  carbohydrate  content.  The  increase  of productivity of arrowroot can be reached by using plant spacing and fertilization. This study aims to determine the effect of plant spacing and fertilization, also their interaction on growth and yield of arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea L.). This research was held from March to November 2016 in the experimental land, Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University. This research arranged in Completely Randomized Block Design (CRBD) consisted of 2 factors; dosage of N,P,K fertilizer (with 3 levels) and plant spacing (with 2 levels). Each treatment was repeated 4 times. The data obtained analyzed with analysis of variance and followed with Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level if any significant influences. The results showed that the interaction between plant spacing of 30x40 cm and urea, Sp36 and KCl 300Kg-1ha significantly increased the number of tillers and diameter of arrowroot respectively. The use of plant spacing 30x40 cm tends to increase growth and better yield. The use of 300 Kg-1ha Urea, SP36 and KCl fertilizer significantly increased plant height, while 150  Kg/ha urea,  SP36 and  KCl fertilizer significantly increased the number of tuber crops.</p>

                                                                                                                                       ABSTRACTThis research was aimed to investigate the effect of mulch type and gandasil-B fertilizer on the growth and yield of chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) on inland peat soil. The method used in this research was two-factor Randomized Block Design with split plot arrangement and three replications. The main plot was the mulch type which consists of three treatments, namely: control, cogon grass and silver-black plastic mulch, and as sub plot was the dose of gandasil-B which consists of four 4 levels, namely: 0, 1, 2, and 3 g L-1 water. Results showed that the interaction between different types of mulch and gandasil-B fertilizer only had significant effect on the diameter of the stem, the number of productive branch, the number of fruit per plant, and the weight of fruit per plant. The utilization of silver-black plastic mulch and gandasil- B fertilizer at the concentration of 3 g L-1 water showed more number of productive branch (14.00 branches) and number of fruit (151.17 fruits) per plant and the weight of fruit (166.52 g) per plant was significantly higher.Keywords : Mulch, cogon grass, silver-black plastic, Gandasil-B, inland peat soil                                                                                                                                       ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis mulsa dan pupuk gandasil-B terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit (Capsicum fruestescens L.) pada tanah gambut pedalaman. Percobaan ini menggunaakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) disusun secara split plot dengan dua faktor perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Sebagai petak utama, yaitu jenis mulsa terdiri dari tiga jenis, yaitu : kontrol, mulsa alang-alang dan mulsa plastik hitam perak. Sebagai anak petak adalah dosis pupuk Gandasil-B terdiri dari 4 taraf perlakuan, yaitu : 0, 1, 2 dan 3 g L-1 air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi penggunaan jenis mulsa dengan pupuk gandasil-B hanya berpengaruh nyata terhadap diameter batang, jumlah cabang produktif, jumlah buah per tanaman dan berat buah per tanaman. Penggunaan mulsa plastik hitam perak dan pupuk gandasil-B 3 g L-1 air diperoleh jumlah cabang produktif (14.00 cabang) dan jumlah buah (151.17 buah) per tanaman) nyata lebih banyak dan berat buah (166.52 g) per tanaman nyata lebih tinggi.Kata kunci : Mulsa, alang-alang, plastik hitam perak, pupuk gandasil-B, gambut pedalaman

<p>ABSTRAK<br />Penelitian mengenai jarak tanam dan pemupukan untuk tanaman<br />rosela merah (Hibiscus sabdariffa var. sabdariffa) belum banyak dilakukan.<br />Suatu penelitian, yang dilakukan di Desa Kanyoran, Kecamatan Semen,<br />Kabupaten Kediri pada tahun 2010, bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jarak<br />tanam dan dosis pupuk NPK majemuk yang tepat bagi pertumbuhan serta<br />produksi kelopak bunga rosela merah dan analisis usaha tani. Perlakuan<br />disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan 3 ulangan.<br />Sebagai faktor pertama adalah 3 ukuran jarak tanam yang terdiri atas 1) 80<br />x 50 cm; 2) 100 x 50 cm; dan 3) 120 x 50 cm; dan sebagai faktor kedua<br />adalah 5 dosis pupuk NPK majemuk yang terdiri atas a) 30 kg NPK/ha; b)<br />37,50 kg NPK/ha; c) 45 kg NPK/ha; d) 52,50 kg NPK/ha; dan e) 60 kg<br />NPK/ha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi interaksi antara jarak<br />tanam (100 x 50 cm) dengan dosis pupuk (45 kg NPK/ha) yang<br />memberikan pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang produktif,<br />jumlah buah, bobot kelopak bunga berbiji, bobot biji, bobot basah kelopak<br />bunga tanpa biji, dan bobot kelopak bunga kering maksimal, masing-<br />masing sebesar 186,63 cm; 16,33 cabang; 117,00 buah; 41,33 kg/petak;<br />16,17 kg/petak; 26,67 kg/petak; dan 2,35 kg/petak (652,75 kg/ha). Usaha<br />tani rosela merah memberikan keuntungan sebesar Rp 10.420.000/ha<br />dengan B/C = 1,49. Red roselle farm provided a gain of Rp10,420,000/ha with a<br />B/C of 1.49. This study aims to determine the growth response and yield of chrysanthemum plants in the application of several types of mulch and organic fertilizer. This research uses the basic design of Randomized Block Design with the factorial pattern with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is mulch treatment consisting of 3 levels ie without mulch, rice husk mulch, and black silver plastic mulch. The second factor is organic fertilizer consists of 3 levels namely petrogenic, cow manure and chicken manure. The research results showed that the highest weight of flower stalk was obtained in silver black mulch treatment, increase of 9.63% when compared with the weight of the lowest flower stalk. The highest economic fresh weight was obtained in mulch treatment, increase of 17.53% when compared with the lowest fresh economic weight on mulch rice husk mulch treatment weighing. The highest weight of the flower stalk was obtained in the treatment of cow manure, increased of 10.14% when compared with the lowest weight of the flower stalk obtained in the treatment of cow manure weighing. The highest economic fresh weight was obtained in the cow manure treatment, which increased by 9.91% when compared with the lowest fresh economic interest weight obtained in the treatment of petrogenic fertilizer weighing. This study aims to determine the effect of chicken manure and biourine on the growth of stem of ground water kangkung, so it is known that the best type of fertilizer used for growth and yield of kangkung plants after the first harvest. This experiment used a randomized block design (RBD) with a factorial experimental pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor is the dosage of biourine (B) consisting of 4 levels ie B0: control, B1: 200 L ha-1, B2: 400 L ha-1, and B3: 600 L ha-1. The second factor is dose of cow manure (K) consist of 2 levels ie K0: control and K1: 20 ton ha-1. The results concluded that there was no interaction between the treatment of chicken manure with biourin liquid fertilizer to all growth variables and the results observed in ground kangkung plants derived from stump except the variables of the harvest index. Treatment of chicken manure 20 tons ha-1 gave the highest economical fresh weight per plant that is 70.48 g and increased by 84.02% compared to the economical fresh weight per plant obtained in the treatment without chicken manure is 38.30 g, while the treatment dose of 400 L ha-1 biourine fertilizer gave the highest economical fresh weight per plant that is 55.66 g and increased by 7.63% compared to the economical fresh weight per plant obtained in the treatment without biourine fertilizer ie 51.71 g.
