The world is changing, the environmental crisis is happening, the life of any living being is on the line. Nature is facing challenges and degradations that will extended to effect on human welfare and all other life on earth. As in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals agenda, world leaders command every organization to play a role in protecting the planet from degradation, undertake urgent actions to perform sustainable resource management. UIN Walisongo Semarang is answering the call and respond to this global issues by declaring a vision statement to be a “Green Campus”. It is not merely a statement, but a commitment to take responsibility in protecting and conserving the nature, applied in all activities under the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Education, Research, and Community Services). This paper aimed to elaborate the distinct concept and approach of community service activities implemented in UIN Walisongo Semarang. Eco-Spiritualism Social Empowerment program designed based on fundamental spiritual and religious values about how human connect with nature, and so this connection create a reciprocal-inseparable relationship. How human affects nature, and otherwise, will create a belief and values directing human’s behavior toward nature. Therefore, a spiritual approach considered to be an effective way to empower people in order to create an eco-friendly society. Eco-Spiritualism Social Empowerment program implemented in both rural and urban area, are showing great results on recycle and waste management, plastic waste utilization and creating value added products, skill development and sustainable social empowerment

Circular Economy is the solution for the current environmental crisis, representing a huge economic opportunity to build new sustainable businesses. However, many barriers need to be faced for its implementation at industrial scale—firstly, the lack of data sharing between the different stakeholders of product value-chains. The DigiPrime project is an EU-funded Innovation Action aimed at developing and demonstrating a digital platform with services able to unlock innovative cross-sectorial business models for the remanufacturing and recycling of target value-added products. In this paper, the concept behind the DigiPrime project is reported, with a particular focus on the construction sector.

Waste problems in Indonesia has reached a critical point that is contaminating many aspects in community. Poor waste management in land have an impact in water pollutions, rivers, and toward the ocean. This rivers and oceans pollution are become the spotlights for the world and the government. As a part of education community in West Java, President University has an important role to educati and find solutions relate with this issues, one of them is to implement Thidharma in the form of social empowerment in Jatireja Village. This environmental education activities was sharing knowledge about plastic waste treatment and management that can be conducted in household scale, and to encourage behavioral change and awareness among communities. Creative product of eco-brick was also implemented tas a part of waste utilization to make valueable product. Environmental education are needed to improve community awareness on plastic waste in Indonesia, especially in West Java.

<p>Due to the pervasive nature of climate change impacts, and their relevance for human welfare, climate services delivering advanced knowledge of climate change and variation are crucial. They aid informed decision-making at relevant spatial and timescale and to improve prevention, preparation, adaptation, and minimize residual damages. It is also imperative to evaluate the climate services with a view to quantify the economic value added of these services. Particularly crucial is to assess how the decision-making process of the service end users would unfold with and without the service to identify its differential impact on properly selected indicators of performance.</p><p>The co-generation (also called co-creation) in products and services was made popular by the business literature in the early 2000s and represents a conceptual shift from an emphasis on output to an emphasis on a mutually satisfying relational process between developers and users in service creation. It mainly consists of four stages, namely co-design, co-development, co-delivery, and co-evaluation. The stage of co-evaluation refers to the development and application of agreed upon criteria for the measurement of results. The criteria will touch upon both substantial and procedural issues. From a user perspective, it will be important to evaluate relevance, impact/benefits, utility, credibility, and costs (financial and human resources) in using climate services. These elements are important to assess the effectiveness and uptake of the service and possibly refine it towards these goals. From a developer perspective, important aspects to evaluate will include, for instance, the scientific quality of the service or its skill.</p><p>This presentation introduces the lessons learnt in the context of the H2020 project CLARA (Climate forecast enabled knowledge services) on how to effectively implement the interactions among researchers, end users and service developers to unveil the economic value added of climate services.</p>

ABSTRACT Commercial nitric acid (HNO3) and ammonia (NH3) are mostly produced through the Ostwald process and the Haber-Bosch process, respectively. However, high energy demand and enormous greenhouse gas accompy these processes. The development of economical and green ways to synthesize HNO3 and NH3 is highly desirable for solving the global energy and environmental crisis. Here, we present two energy-efficient and environmentally friendly strategies to synthesize HNO3 and NH3 at distributed sources, including the electrocatalytic oxidation of N2 in air to HNO3 and the electrocatalytic reduction of residual ${\rm NO_{3}^{-}}$ contamination in water to NH3. The isotope-labeling studies combined with theoretical calculation reveal the reaction path of the two proposed strategies, confirming the origin of the electrochemical products. Importantly, the electrooxidation-generated ${\rm NO_{3}^{-}}$ ions may also serve as reactants for the electroreduction synthesis of NH3 in the future. Our work may open avenues for energy-efficient and green production of HNO3 and NH3 at distributed sources.

Desa Oebelo memiliki prospek untuk pengembangan peternakan sapi potong. Namun demikian, kontribusi pengelolaan limbah pertanian masih perlu ditingkatkan akibat kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pengolahan limbah batang dan daun jagung serta feses ternak sapi. Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan dalam mengolah limbah pertanian sehingga dapat mendukung pengembangan sistem usaha tani terpadu di Desa Oebelo. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melibatkan kelompok tani ternak Syalom dan Elsadai. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian meliputi penyuluhan, demonstrasi plot pembuatan silase dan bokashi pupuk kandang, serta evaluasi dan pendampingan. Luaran yang dihasilkan meliputi produk silase lamtoro sebanyak 250 kg, silase jerami jagung sebanyak 450 kg, bokashi pupuk kandang sebanyak 1.200 kg, dan pendapatan mitra per proses produksi sebesar Rp.850.000,-. Kegiatan pengabdian memberikan manfaat dalam penguasaan teknologi pembuatan silase dan bokashi pupuk kandang. Anggota mitra kelompok tani juga membangun komitmen untuk menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh dengan terus mengolah limbah pertanian sehingga dapat memberikan nilai tambah dan meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan. Kata kunci: Bokashi, Desa Oebelo, Fermentasi, Lingkungan, Silase ABSTRACT The village of Oebelo has prospect in beef cattle farming development; nevertheless, farming waste management to contribute a value-added is still required to be improved due to the lack of knowledge on cultivating corn stalk and leaves waste as well as cattle feces. The empowerment program aims to improve knowledge, attitude, and skill among the farmers on cultivating farming waste to development of integrated beef cattle farming activities in Oebelo. The program has been involving Syalom and Elsadai farmer groups. The methods that had been practiced in the field project were extension, practice, and simulation of silage technique and bokashi organic fertilizer, evaluation and mentorship. The result of the program including silage products of plant type as follows: Lamtoro plant (Leucaena leucocephala) silage as 250 Kg and corn stalk silage as 450 Kg, and bokashi organic fertilizer as 1,200 Kg. During each of the production phases, villagers who involved in this program earned 850,000 rupiahs. The empowerment program has given an impacttransfer technology of silage and bokashi organic fertilizer. Post-project, all beef cattle farmers have been establishing a joint commitment to implement the knowledge they gain and keep cultivating farming waste to give value-added and improving the quality of the environment. The village of Tanjung Tiram is a coastal area with considerable fishery resource potential. Community services activity through Program of student study service and community empowerment (KKN-PPM) program for 45 days from May 20<sup>th</sup>–July 16<sup>th</sup> 2017. The activity aims to provide knowledge and empower the community of Tanjung Tiram Village through the enhancement of value added potential of aquatic resources (seaweed and fish). The activity was conducted through training to make various processed food products based on seaweed and fish so that economic value of fishery products increases. In addition there are also alternative jobs for fishermen/communities who have been doing the utilization of natural resources that damage (no eco-friendly). The result that had been obtained in this activity was the community understand the method of processing and packaging of processed seaweed and fish products, and they have succeeded in making processed products in packaging that is ready to be marketed.
