Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat dan Sungai Silandak merupakan sungai yang alirannya bermuara di Teluk Semarang. Lokasi sungai yang berada di tengah kota dan padatnya aktivitas manusia (pemukiman dan industri), akan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas air di sekitar aliran sungai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi nitrat dan fosfat serta untuk mengetahui status trofik Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat dan Sungai Silandak. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober – 1 November 2018. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Penentuan titik lokasi sampling menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dilakukan di 7 (tujuh) titik  dengan 2 (dua) kali pengulangan dari hulu sampai hilir dengan karakteristik penggunaan lahan berupa pemukiman, industri, perairan dan vegetasi. Data yang dianalisis adalah nitrat, fosfat, pH, oksigen terlarut, salinitas, kedalaman, arus, dan suhu. Nilai rata-rata konsentrasi nitrat di Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat yaitu 2,84 mg/l sedangkan fosfat yaitu 1,51 mg/l. Nilai rata-rata konsentrasi nitrat di Sungai Silandak yaitu 2,11 mg/l, sedangkan fosfat yaitu 1,39 mg/l. Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat dan Sungai Silandak termasuk dalam perairan mesotrofik berdasarkan konsentrasi nitrat, sedangkan berdasarkan konsentrasi fosfat dikategorikan dalam perairan eutrofik. Banjir Kanal Barat and Silandak Rivers are rivers whose flow empties into the Gulf of Semarang. The location of the river in the middle of the city and the density of human activities (settlements and industry), will affect the quality of water around the river flow. The purpose of this study was to determine land use around the river, to determine the concentration of nitrate and phosphate and to determine the trophic status of the Banjir Kanal Barat and Silandak Rivers. This research was conducted on 15 October - 1 November 2018. The method used in this study was descriptive method. Determination of sampling location using purposive sampling method, carried out in 7 (seven) points with 2 (two) repetitions from upstream to downstream with land use characteristics in the form of settlements, industries, waters and vegetation. Data analyzed were nitrate, phosphate, pH, DO, salinity, depth, current, and temperature. The average value of nitrate concentration in the Banjir Kanal Barat River is 2.84 mg/l while phosphate is 1.51 mg/l. The average value of nitrate concentration in Silandak River is 2.11 mg/l, while phosphate is 1.39 mg/l. The Banjir Kanal Barat River and Silandak River are included in the mesotrophic waters based on nitrate concentration, while based on phosphate concentration are categorized in eutrophic waters.

On preparing of the first management plans of River Basin Districts have been found that diffuse agricultural pol-lution is one of the most important causing factor and the most significant impact on the quality of water bodies. Diffuse agricultural pollution can be from 45% to 80% of nitrate nitrogen pollution load of water bodies. Pollution is transported by water surface and subsurface runoff through sediments from agricultural territories. This article aims at evaluating of relation between the Quaternary sediments and Land use dissemination. The lithological factor (sandy, loamy, argillaceous) of the basin was calculated based on Quaternary map of Lithuania M 1:200000 and Lithuanian river map M 1:50000. The land-use factor of the basin was calculated based on Corine Land cover M 1:100000 using ArcGis software. In order to carry out more thorough analysis of the determination of relation between the Quaternary sediments and Land use dissemination in given territories, sections of 0–50 m, 50–200 m, 200–500 m, 500–800 m, 800–1000 m and >1000 m were established, calculating the distance in meters from the riverbank.

Lead (Pb) is one of common heavy metal that has been shown to be very useful tracers of environmental pollution. The consequences of urbanization process can cause not only economic growth but also negatively impact on the quality of water and soil. Therefore the objective of this research is to know the potential contamination of lead in soil of urban area. The soil samples were conducted by batch leaching experiment. In surface soil, lead in soil of Pakem area varies from 2.01ppm to 5.13 ppm with average value of 3.02 ppm and Merapi area ranges from 1.84 ppm to 3.41ppm with average value of 2.42 ppm. In urban area, lead varies from 4.18 to 14.88 ppm with average of 9.93 ppm. Lead in urban soil is higher than Pakem and Merapi soil. The potential contamination of lead in urban soil is occurred with respect to urbanization and human activities. The value of lead is shown with the average of 3 ppm for Caturtunggal, Depok District, 6.53 ppm in Mantrijeron District and 9.82 ppm for Kotagede District in Yogyakarta city. The result of lead distribution in Kotagede District is the highest concentrated and it is followed by Mantrijeron District and Caturtunggal, Depok District.

Systems of waste management in Padangsidimpuan City is an open dumping system. The location of the Padangsidimpuan City landfill is carried out at the Batu Bola TPA located in Batu Bola Village which is 120 meters from the Batang Ayumi river flow. Continuous landfill in the landfill produces pollutants in the form of leachate. Leachate contains organic materials and heavy metals. Heavy metals that are often found in leachate water are Iron (Fe) cadmium (Cd) and Zinc (Zn). This research aims to know the quality of the water of the Batang Ayumi river in terms of the content of heavy metals Cd, Zn, and Fe. This research uses descriptive exploratory method by conducting a survey first. The determination of the sampling location using purposive sampling method at four stations specified. River water sampling is carried out twice, before and after rain. This research uses an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer tool. The data obtained were analyzed by comparing research data with water quality standards based on PP. No. 82 of 2001 to look at the conditions of the heavy metal pollution of Cd, Zn and Fe. The results of this study showed that the average concentration of the metal content Cd, Zn and Fe werw below the specified quality threshold, namely the concentration of metal Cd of all stations is 0.0009 mg/l, a concentration of metal Fe is 0.03 mg/l, and concentration of Zn metal is 0.0002 mg/l.

<p>Some areas in the city of Bandung is an area that dilitasi by the flow of the river, to prevent the introduction of garbage into the river basin is necessary to note the waste management systems in residential areas along the river. Cidurian river has a length of 24.86 Km along the river flow. Consists of the city of Bandung and Bandung regency. Administrative regions Cidurian River past eight (8) districts, from the region in the District Kiaracondong precisely Village Babakan Babakan Sari and Surabaya populous and the most densely populated. Thus, there should be community-based waste management in the form of a reduction in resources to prevent potential entry of waste into the river basin. Planning waste reduction will be divided into two, namely the reduction of inorganic waste with waste bank then the reduction of organic waste with absorption holes biopori, and bio reactor mini determination of the reduction is determined by the results of the analysis of the sampling covers the composition and garbage, then the result of the measurement characteristics test and analysis results questionnaire.</p>

ABSTRACT: Land use outside its agricultural potential and low vegetation cover in the watershed impair the quality of water used for irrigation and may contribute to the spread of pathogenic coliform bacteria. The objective of this study was to relate the quality of irrigation water with the intensity and type of land use and the rainfall in a vegetable-producing region of São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. Water samples were collected monthly in 2013 from two reservoirs and one preserved source. After collection, the samples were chilled in Styrofoam boxes and transported to the laboratory for analyses of the total and thermotolerant coliforms. Effect of land use was analyzed by probability estimation trees. High land use and weekly above average rainfall increased the probability of thermo tolerant coliforms exceeding the limit allowed under legislation. In regards to thermo tolerant coliforms in the analyzed period, the water from only one reservoir was in accordance with the legislation for the quality of water to irrigate vegetables that are consumed raw. Results of this study are an alert to the local government for the necessity of environmental preservation to maintain the water quality of the county.

Land use/cover greatly affect the quality of an area. Therefore, many regional planners need assistance byother fields, such as geoinformatics, computer science, environment, and others. Although prediction and forecasting have been widely studied, in regardto real conditions (geospatial)itstill needmoredevelopment, especially thoseinvolving a combination of regional types, such as urban and suburban areas. This study uses a remote sensing base and geographic information system in predicting land in the city and district of Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia. With two scenarios compared (business as usual and vegetation conservation), the model that has been created and validated (with an AUC accuracy result of 0.828) is used to predict land use change until 2030. Scenarios with vegetation conservation are able to keep green areas to switch to land types others, such as buildings and industry

Landuse alteration is one of the primary causes of global environmental change. Changes in the landuse usually occurred regionally and globally over last few decades and will carry on in the future as well. These activities are highly influenced by anthropogenic activities and have more serious consequences on the quality of water and air. In the present study relationship between land use impact on water and air quality have been reviewed.

Within this paper, we evaluated the quality of three Global Geopotential Models entitled: EGM96,EGM2008, and GOCO05c. The models were evaluated by using 1001 terrestrial discrete values ofheight anomalies determined by Global Navigation Satellite Systems and normal heights, which weconsidered to be true values within this research. In addition to the quality evaluation, we tailoredthe models by using more than 80000 free air anomalies. The results obtained from the evaluationand tailoring indicate that by using the GOCO05c it is possible to determine a set of anomaly heightsacross Serbia, which are in agreement with terrestrial values with an average value of -7 cm, thestandard deviation of ±9 cm and with the range of 44 cm.

Changes in the land use and land cover in areas adjacent to water reservoirs directly affect the quality of this water. This research presents a study on the water quality in the basin of one of the most important public water supply reservoirs in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The main objective of this study was to analyze the behavior of limnological parameters and the correlation with land use and land cover in the contribution basin of the Doutor Jo&atilde;o Penido reservoir (CBJPR). The methodology was based on the analysis of water quality parameters, related to water samples collected from 2012 to 2015. Six sampling points were chosen from different locations: spring, medium course, main tributaries of the reservoir and the reservoir catchment. The parameters analyzed were turbidity, total solids (TS), oxygen consumed (OC), dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), E. Coli, temperature, pH and total dissolved solids (TDS). The Kendall&rsquo;s tau test was used to analyze the correlations between the parameters of water quality, land use and land cover in the CBJPR. In general, measured parameters showed better results in spring and in reservoir catchment, showing a worse quality of the water along the tributaries and the dilution power of the reservoir. The correlations pointed to the need for protection and preservation of forests in strategic locations to ensure good water quality.
