The purpose of this study was to gather data from the mothers of children with Tourette Syndrome (TS), in order to examine the extent to which the existence of a child with TS in the family affected mothers’ Quality of Life (QOL). The research was conducted according to the qualitative methods. Data was collected from semistructures interviews with 50 mothers of children with TS. The interviews were analyzed using a content analysis method. Conclusions derived from the research findings found that lack of accurate diagnosis and information leaded mothers to a state of imbalance and great stress. When they were given accurate information, they seemed to be more able to advocate for the child with TS and thus preventmisunderstandings, and consequent unpleasant situations and confusion.

This paper aims to investigate the trend of human resource disclosure (HRD) quality based on publicly disclosed annual reports of 235 Malaysian listed companies. The data was collected through content analysis method using HRD index. The results reveal that there is an increasing trend of HRD quality from 2010 to 2014.  However the significant increase is only between 2012 and 2013. This study provides empirical support for Institutional theory’s coercive isomorphism, through its findings on quality of HRD. This is because, the related disclosure regulations and the Malaysian government policy through Malaysia Plan may have significantly influenced firms to increase HRD quality in their annual reports.

In Cyprus, many pupils with chronic diseases attend public school in regular classes, managing their disease's demands in parallel with their education. Teachers are responsible for both education and management of these pupils at school. They have to see to their safety, but they must also provide equal learning opportunities to pupils with chronic diseases. Therefore, teachers' information about each child's condition and needs is crucial for their better response to the challenge of coping with the unique needs these pupils may have at school and in the classroom. This study's purpose is an initial investigation of the quality of the information teachers receive in this context. Our methodology is qualitative. We conducted twelve interviews with secondary education teachers in Larnaca and Famagusta in Cyprus during 2019-2020. We analyzed our data by applying the Thematic Content Analysis method. Our findings indicated that teachers felt that the school's information regarding pupils with chronic diseases was either incomplete or, even worse, non-existent.

Abstract Background Patients with end-stage kidney disease experience serious complications which affect their lives. Few studies have investigated the patients’ quality of life qualitatively from the perspective of family caregivers as the closest individuals to the patients. The family caregivers are directly involved in the patients’ disease progression and observe the changes, problems, and complications of disease and hemodialysis. This study aimed to explain the components of quality of life in hemodialysis patients from the family caregivers’ perspective. Methods In this qualitative inductive content analysis, 16 family caregivers of hemodialysis patients, presenting to the teaching hospitals of Tehran, Iran, were enrolled via maximum-variation purposive sampling; sampling continued until reaching data saturation. The data collection method included in-depth semi-structured interviews. Also, an inductive content analysis was carried out based on Elo and Kyngas’ method. Results A total of 311 codes, 19 subcategories, eight generic categories, and three main categories were extracted in this study. The main (and the generic categories) included mental and psychological problems (depressive mood, incompatibility and reduced tolerance, mental exhaustion, and deprivation of basic needs), social disruption (social isolation and social threats), and physical problems (general complications and disabilities and defects in the normal functioning of organs). Conclusion Family caregivers can be valuable information sources for formal caregivers to plan treatment for chronically ill patients who are mainly cared for at home. The present results can help us increase the existing knowledge on the impact of end-stage kidney disease and hemodialysis on the patients’ quality of life. It seems that addressing the issues related to quality of life, mentioned by the caregivers, can positively affect the patients’ quality of life and even reduce the caregivers’ burden.

Taiwan has been nearly 40 years of history in developing B&B, and has accumulated rich experience in B&B development and management. While B&B history is much shorter in mainland China, there is a gap of industry matureness between two sides. Therefore, it is of great practical significance for the development of B&B in mainland China to systematically discuss the quality of B&B in Taiwan. This study extracted 24 B&B cases in Taiwan from Agoda website, based on stratified sampling method, and classified and assigned values according to the quality evaluation index and coding standard with content analysis method. Finally, the paper obtained the key factors of the quality of the B&B based on the evaluation of indicators at all levels, and got the correlation analysis results: cost performance and fitment time are positively correlated to the quality of the B&B while guestroom number is negatively correlated to the quality of the B&B.

Background: There are specific challenges regarding the perceptions of families of comatose patients in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Identifying these perceptions may attract the cooperation of families with nurses and provide better care for patients. This study aimed to explore the perceptions of families of comatose patients in ICUs. Methods: This was a qualitative content-analysis study. Seventeen families with comatose patients were recruited by the purposive sampling technique. The necessary data were generated by semi-structured interviews, continued until data saturation, and concurrently analyzed by an inductive content analysis method. Results: Four main categories were manifested, including shock and disbelief, the effort for adaptation, exhaustion, and burnout, as well as hope and support. Conclusion: The obtained results signified the importance of nurses’ awareness concerning the family members’ perceptions of their comatose patient status in ICUs. The relevant findings reflected the need for nurses to pay attention to the feelings and emotions of the families of these patients.
