AbstractThe high compensation degree series compensation has a broad development prospects in long distance and large-capacity UHV transmission lines. But it is generating secondary arc current contains low frequency components with high amplitude when the single-phase grounding fault occurs in the series compensated transmission line, which is not conducive to rapid arc extinguishing. To solve this problem, this paper based on the mechanism of generating secondary arc by series compensation transmission lines, and using ATP – EMTP electromagnetic transient program to establish the simulation model of UHV series compensation device. And the suppression effects of small resistance short connection fault series compensation and linkage bypass series compensation measures on secondary arc current and recovery voltage under different series compensation layout mode are studied respectively. The results show that the attenuation speed of the secondary arc current is related to the series compensation arrangement modes and the time when the series compensation device is short connected or bypassed. Series compensation device short connected or bypassed before circuit breaker tripping which can accelerate the arc extinction speed, and the suppression effect is better when the series compensated double platform segmentation layout is distributed on both sides of the line. The results can be used as a reference for the engineering design of UHV with large capacity and long distance and high compensation series compensation transmission lines.

Abstract In the transmission line, the series compensation device is often used to improve the transmission capacity. However, when the fixed series capacitor (FSC) is used in high compensation series compensation device, the stability margin cannot meet the requirements. Therefore, thyristor controlled series compensator (TCSC) is often installed in transmission lines to improve the transmission capacity of the line and the stability of the system. For cost considerations, the hybrid compensation mode of FSC and TCSC is often adopted. However, when a single-phase grounding fault occurs in a transmission line with increased series compensation degree, the unreasonable distribution of FSC and TCSC will lead to the excessive amplitude of secondary arc current, which is not conducive to rapid arc extinguishing. To solve this problem, this paper is based on 1000 kV Changzhi-Nanyang-Jingmen UHV series compensation transmission system, using PSCAD simulation program to established UHV series compensation simulation model, The variation law of secondary arc current and recovery voltage during operation in fine tuning mode after adding TCSC to UHV transmission line is analyzed, and the effect of increasing series compensation degree on secondary arc current and recovery voltage characteristics is studied. And analyze the secondary arc current and recovery voltage when using different FSC and TCSC series compensation degree schemes, and get the most reasonable series compensation configuration scheme. The results show that TCSC compensation is more beneficial to arc extinguishing under the same series compensation. Compared with several series compensation schemes, it is found that with the increase of the proportion of TCSC, the amplitude of secondary arc current and recovery voltage vary greatly. Considering various factors, the scheme that is more conducive to accelerating arc extinguishing is chosen.

Background: A novel fault location method of HVDC transmission line based on a concentric relaxation principle is proposed in this paper. Methods: Due to the different position of fault, the instantaneous energy measured from rectifier and inverter are different, and the ratio k between them is the relationship to the fault location d. Through the analysis of amplitude-frequency characteristics, we found that the wave attenuation characteristic of low frequency in the traveling wave is stable, and the amplitude of energy is larger, so we get the instantaneous energy ratio by using the low-frequency data. By using the method of wavelet packet decomposition, the voltage traveling wave signal was decomposed. Results: Finally, calculate the value k. By using the data fitting, the relative function of k and d can be got, that is the fault location function. Conclusion: After an exhaustive evaluation process considering different fault locations, fault resistances, and noise on the unipolar DC transmission system, four-machine two-area AC/DC parallel system, and an actual complex grid, the method presented here showed a very accurate and robust behavior.

ABSTRACT. Seismic processing aims to provide an adequate image of the subsurface geology. During seismic processing, the filtering of signals considered noise is of utmost importance. Among these signals is the surface rolling noise, better known as ground-roll. Ground-roll occurs mainly in land seismic data, masking reflections, and this roll has the following main features: high amplitude, low frequency and low speed. The attenuation of this noise is generally performed through so-called conventional methods using 1-D or 2-D frequency filters in the fk domain. This study uses the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method for ground-roll attenuation. The EMD method was implemented in the programming language FORTRAN 90 and applied in the time and frequency domains. The application of this method to the processing of land seismic line 204-RL-247 in Tacutu Basin resulted in stacked seismic sections that were of similar or sometimes better quality compared with those obtained using the fk and high-pass filtering methods. Keywords: seismic processing, empirical mode decomposition, seismic data filtering, ground-roll.

High voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems play an increasingly important role in long-distance power transmission. Realizing accurate and timely fault location of transmission lines is extremely important for the safe operation of power systems. With the development of modern data acquisition and deep learning technology, deep learning methods have the feasibility of engineering application in fault location. The traditional single-terminal traveling wave method is used for fault location in HVDC systems. However, many challenges exist when a high impedance fault occurs including high sampling frequency dependence and difficulty to determine wave velocity and identify wave heads. In order to resolve these problems, this work proposed a deep hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short-term memory (LSTM) network model for single-terminal fault location of an HVDC system containing mixed cables and overhead line segments. Simultaneously, a variational mode decomposition–Teager energy operator is used in feature engineering to improve the effect of model training. 2D-CNN was employed as a classifier to identify fault segments, and LSTM as a regressor integrated the fault segment information of the classifier to achieve precise fault location. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method has high accuracy of fault location, with the effects of fault types, noise, sampling frequency, and different HVDC topologies in consideration.

Due to the occlusion of the moon, an annular solar eclipse will have an effect on the ionosphere above the earth. The change of the ionosphere, for the low-frequency time-code signal that relies on it as a reflection medium for long-distance propagation, the signal field strength, and other parameters will also produce corresponding changes, which will affect the normal operation of the low-frequency time-code time service system. This paper selects the solar eclipse that occurred in China on 21 June 2020, and uses the existing measurement equipment to carry out experimental research on the low-frequency time-code signal. We measured and analyzed the signal field strength from 20 June 2020 to 23 June 2020, and combined solar activity data, ionospheric data, and geomagnetic data, and attempted to explore the reasons and rules of the change of signal parameters. The results showed that the field strength of the low-frequency time-code signal changed dramatically within a short time period, the max growth value can reach up to 17 dBμV/m and the variation trend yielded ‘three mutations’. This change in signal field strength is probably due to the occurrence of a solar eclipse that has an effect on the ionosphere. When the signal propagation conditions change, the signal strength will also change accordingly.

In this paper, a transient model of 750kV power transmission system with series compensation is established. Effects of different capacity on no-load capacitive rise overvoltage, single-phase grounding overvoltage, two-phase grounding overvoltage are calculated. Secondary arc current and recovery voltage of different series compensation capacity in single-phase grounding is also calculated.

Non-smooth piecewise functional isolators are smart passive vibration isolators that can provide effective isolation for high frequency/low amplitude excitation by introducing a soft primary suspension, and by preventing a high relative displacement in low frequency/high amplitude excitation by introducing a relatively damped secondary suspension. In this investigation a linear secondary suspension is attached to a nonlinear primary suspension. The primary is assumed to be nonlinear to model the inherent nonlinearities involved in real suspensions. However, the secondary suspension comes into action only during a short period of time, and in mall domain around resonance. Therefore, a linear assumption for the secondary suspension is reasonable. The dynamic behavior of the system subject to a harmonic base excitation has been analyzed utilizing the analytic results derived by applying the averaging method. The analytic results match very well in the transition between the two suspensions. A sensitivity analysis has shown the effect of varying dynamic parameters in the steady state behavior of the system.
