Research provides better insight and understanding of consumer behavior towards counterfeit luxury goods. The sample in this study were 286 people who intended to buy fake luxury goods. Data was collected through a survey questionnaire and, analyzed by regression analysis techniques. The research findings identify that brand image, quality and price positively influence consumer attitudes towards fake luxury goods. This is because these variables are considered to have influenced individual attitudes. They have a positive attitude towards fake luxury goods in terms of brand image, price and quality and that consumer attitude is a significant variable in shaping consumer purchase intentions, because positive attitude is a stimulus for consumer purchase intention which is a predictor. consumer buying behavior; so the higher the attitude of consumers, the higher their intention to buy. These findings can be an asset for policy makers and producers of original products to formulate strategies to overcome counterfeiting activities.

We examined the factors affecting consumer purchase intention of a cosmetic product after the Fukushima nuclear incident and the role of distinctiveness in postcrisis recovery. Through a 2-group experiment and structural equation modeling, we found that the incident did not affect the firm's reputation and brand image but it was perceived as a significant threat to health and product safety that consequently negatively affected purchasing intentions. Findings also showed that high distinctiveness is a valid factor in diminishing the impact of crisis. In particular, a firm's reputation and indirect effects on revenue are least affected by, or even positively related to distinctiveness. We have included discussion of the critical implications for firms around the importance of maintaining desirable relationships with the public as preparation for a crisis and for rapid postcrisis recovery.

PurposeThis study examines the impact of attitudes toward fashion influencers (FIs) on brand attitude and consumer purchase intention. It also aims to identify factors affecting consumers' attitudes toward FIs.Design/methodology/approachTo achieve this goal, the authors propose a conceptual model that combines the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and theoretical outcomes of prior literature related to influencer marketing. Based on data collected from 610 Moroccan respondents, the authors empirically test the conceptual model using a partial least squares (PLS) estimation.FindingsThis study illustrates that attitudes toward FIs positively impact brand attitude and consumer purchase intention. The authors also demonstrate that perceived credibility, trust, perceived behavioral control, perceived subjective norms, perceived expertise and perceived congruence positively impact attitudes toward FIs.Practical implicationsThe study findings help marketers and advertisers in the fashion industry to understand how influencer marketing contributes to consumer purchase intention. They also allow marketers to understand factors explaining attitudes toward FIs and therefore better select influencers capable of creating purchase intentions among existing and potential customers.Originality/valueThe present paper bridges a gap pertaining to antecedents and factors that impact attitudes toward FIs and consumer purchase intention. To the authors’ knowledge, this study is the first of its kind to investigate the impact of attitudes toward influencers on both brand attitude and purchase intention in the fashion industry.

Marketers’ use of eco-labels—verifying the environmental friendliness of products—has steadily grown. Earlier studies have focused on the direct influence of eco-labels on consumer purchase intention for these products. Findings from that empirical work revealed that eco-labels can have a positive impact on purchase intention. Other investigations disclosed a positive relationship between consumer attitude toward the brand and purchase intention. Based on the foregoing research efforts, the purpose of the present work was to examine selected factors that may influence consumer attitude toward eco-labeled products. The following constructs were discerned to have that impact: recognition/awareness of eco-labels, perceived credibility of the eco-label, and current purchase behavior of eco-labeled products. Environmental attitude, though, was found to be unrelated to consumer attitude toward eco-labeled products. Implications and suggestions for future research are provided.

This study aims to understand the impact of financial, psychological, and social risk dimensions on attitude and intention to purchase counterfeit luxury goods. Data were collected through a questionnaire conducted with 116 Angolan consumers and were treated with structural equation modeling. The results revealed that only financial risk and social risk were influential in attitude toward counterfeit luxury goods. Attitude had a significant influence on the intention to purchase counterfeit luxury goods. The research contributes to the literature because there has been no previous study in an African country that seeks to understand the purchase intention of counterfeit luxury goods according to risk perception theory. On the other hand, this study is one of the few to report that social risk perception positively impacts attitudes towards counterfeit luxury goods.

The purpose of this research is to study consumer attitude towards mobile advertising in Malaysia, and whether this attitude results in the intention to purchase the products or services advertised. This article reports on the results, based on factors such as entertainment, informativeness, irritation and credibility, which the research framework derives from Ducoffe (1996, Advertising value and advertising on the Web, Journal of Advertising Research, 36(5), 21–35) and Mackenzie (1989, An empirical examination of the structural antecedents of attitude toward the ad in an advertising pretesting context, Journal of Marketing, 53(4), 48–65). Attitudes towards behaviours, and subjective norms, based on the research by Ajzen (1991, The theory of planned behaviour, Organizational Behaviour & Human Decision Processes, 50(2), 179–211), are included in understanding consumer intention. A survey is conducted on 150 respondents, and the partial least squares analysis is used to determine the antecedents of mobile advertising that lead to consumer acceptance of mobile advertising, and the resulting intention to purchase. Results show that the advertising message content has the largest impact on attitude in advertising that is done via mobile phone. Attitudes towards mobile advertising are linked to the intention to purchase the product or services advertised. The main implication of the study shows that marketing managers should focus their marketing communication on mobile advertising, and increasing the attractiveness of this form of advertising, so as to reflect consumers’ intention to purchase. This study opens a new channel of communication for multiple unexamined matters concerning the mobile advertising industry. Based on the results, a number of recommendations are proposed and suggestions for future studies are made.

The consumption of organic food has increased owing to consumers becoming more concerned about their health. Many people have begun to realize the advantages of using organic instead of conventional food. Consumer-attitude is now the most influential factor affecting consumer purchase intention toward organic food. This study aims to identify factors influencing consumers’ attitudes and purchase intention toward organic food in the Saudi context. The data used here were collected from 147 participants by using structured questionnaires. Structural equation modelling and partial least square (SmartPLS) were used to analyze the data collection. The results show that issues relating to food quality and scepticism influence consumers’ attitudes toward organic food. Interestingly, organic food knowledge and health consciousness are not significant in influencing consumer attitudes toward organic food. Besides, none of the moderating effects were significant (e.g., food safety and price) regarding the relationship between consumer-attitude and purchase intention toward organic food. The results will help marketers and organic food retailers to understand better consumer’s behaviour, build their marketing strategy and make advantageous decisions.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of brand image and service quality on consumer purchase intention from the perspective of the Taiwan cram school industry. The research involved a questionnaire survey of parent consumers of primary school pupils attending cram schools. A 37-item, five-point Likert scale questionnaire was used to collect the data. From the total sample size, 430 responses representing 84.15 percent were found useable for analysis. The data were then analyzed using the SPSS software for reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, independent sample t-test, One Way Analysis of Variance, Pearson product-moment correlation, and regression analysis. The results indicate that both brand image and service quality are significantly positively correlated with purchase intention, and that service quality as compared to the brand image is more positively related to purchase intention. Additionally, this study finds evidence that both brand image and service quality are significantly positively predictive of purchase intention.
