The contribution of universities to economic structure, social and physical insfrastructure, the quality of life and city, and the level of education cannot be regarded. Therefore, it should be provided that university campuses should be areas which reflect city image with their physical structures. In this regard, the effective administration, usage, and development of universities, and the coordination between the units of universities should also be provided. One of the most significant elements of this coordination and cooperation is on campus transportation. One of the main purposes of the thesis is to evaluate inner campus transportation which is the sub-unit of city transportation. Other purposes are to determine the reasons of the perception of the users in reference to their demographic features on campus transportation and the reasons of their preferences of a particular transportation option. A survey study has been conducted in order to measure inner campus transportation perceptions. In this regard, 1112 questionnaire forms have been analysed by the software programme of SPSS. Expression analysis of the reliability, frequency distribution and factors are obtained, and differences were identified by ANOVA and T-TEST analysis.

Abstract BACKGROUND Socioeconomics affect the outcome of neurological patients, but the socioeconomic burden of brain tumors has not been studied in detail. PATIENTS AND METHODS This survey study in a clinically well-annotated cohort of meningioma patients was designed to explore socioeconomic status parameters at diagnosis and one year thereafter. The survey comprised level of education, profession, employment status, subjective work ability, monthly income and the EPICES social deprivation score. Quality of life (QoL) and symptom burden were queried utilizing the EORTC-QLQ-C30/BN20 and MDASI-BT. A multivariate binary regression model was applied to explore associations of socioeconomics with QoL. RESULTS Completed surveys were obtained from 249 of 410 patients (61%) who were invited to participate. The level of education was an apprenticeship or higher in 214 patients (86%). One year after diagnosis, there was a 20% decline in the fraction of employed patients and a more than twofold increase in unemployment and disability (p<0.001). There was a decrease in monthly income among patients with a baseline income below national average (p=0.008). On multivariate analyses, there was an association of inferior QoL with pre-operative unemployment or retirement (OR 2.43, 95% CI 1.02–5.88), whereas a subjective work ability of >70% was associated with better QoL (OR 0.37, 95% CI 0.15–0.92). CONCLUSION Socioeconomics assessments should be incorporated in prospective neuro-oncology clinical trials. A more detailed knowledge of the effects of socioeconomics on patient outcome will aid in identifying patients at risk for deterioration and allow to implement improved preventive and supportive strategies.

This paper deals with the results of sociological survey focused on identification of the attitudes of elderly people to further education. The research was carried out in September 2010. Experience of elderly people with further education, their readiness (determination) for further education as well as their motivation and barriers in further education were also subjects of this research. Detecting elderly population’s awareness of universities of the third age and finding out their further education preferences were an integral part of the research. Research sample consisted of citizens over 55 years living in the South Moravian region. The survey results are structured by socio-demographic features e.g.: age, sex, educational attainment etc. and provide an interesting insight into the attitudes of the target group to one of the activities that contributes to improvement of their quality of life.

(HealthScience Journal of Indonesia 2018;9(2):93-9) Kata kunci: Kualitas hidup, metadon Abstract Background: One of the objective in Methadone Maintenance Therapy (MMT) which is a rehabilitationprogram for injecting drug users is quality of life. The purpose of this study was to determine quality oflife among MMT patients. Methods: The cross sectional study was conducted in Kedung Badak Primary Health Care and BogorTimur in Bogor. Data were collected from interview and filling out WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire fromApril-June 2018. Analysis was performed using multiple linier regression. Results: Total subjects in this study was 62 subjects. The results showed mean scores for physical domainwas 57.6; psychological domain was 57.5; social domain was 63.6; and environmental domain was 63.9.Compared with Indonesian, MMT patient scores were higher in environmental domain and lower inphysical and psychological domain while social domain had no different with it. The dominant factor indetermining physical and environmental domain was level of education, while the psychological domainwas methadone dose, and the existence of someones to talk to was dominant factor for social domain. Conclusion: The higher level of education, will produce better quality of life in all domains. MMTpatients with lower level education must be monitored to improve their quality of life. It is suggested totreat patients based on individual approaches and support from family and friends is needed to motivateclients and adherence to the therapy. This study aimed to find correlations between the quality of life, happiness, and life satisfaction of the general population of Bandung city. There were 370 participants with averageage of 20.7 years, mostly male (55.7%) and with a secondary level of education (SMP-SMA; 57.0%) who completed three questionnaires: (i) WHOQOL-BREF to measure quality of life, (ii) Happiness Thermometer to measure happiness, and (iii) Self-Anchoring Cantril Striving Scale to measure life satisfaction. Multiple linear regression tests were used with happiness and life satisfaction as dependent variables and quality of life as an independent variable. The results showed that the psychological and physical domains of quality of life were significant predictors of happiness and satisfaction of life, where the psychological domain proved significant in predicting all four-time points: happiness today (β=0.039; p<0.05), happiness throughout life (β=0.043; p<0.05), current life satisfaction (β=0.034; p<0.05) and life satisfaction five years from now (β=0.017; p<0.05). Physical domain was similar to psychological except for current life satisfaction (β=0.029; 0.023; 0.014; p<0.05). The environmental domain had been shown to predict happiness throughout life significantly (β=0.019; p<0.05) and life satisfaction five years from now (β=-0.015; p<0.05). The social domain was not found to be a significant predictor. It can be concluded that improving the psychological and physical function of Indonesian people and their environmental conditions will lead them to a happier and more satisfying life.

Abstract Background Psychological comorbidities are common among people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and are associated with worse disease outcomes. Evidence-based psychotherapy is an effective means to increase psychosocial support. This study aimed to identify the barriers to attending psychotherapy. Methods This electronic survey study included a demographic, quality of life, and barriers to psychotherapy questionnaire. Quality of life was assessed using the Short Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (SIBDQ). Barriers were assessed using the Perceived Barriers to Psychological Treatments scale (PBPT). Linear regression was used to identify participant characteristics associated with higher PBPT scores. Results One hundred eighty-seven participants completed the study. Fifty-eight percent of participants had ≥1 significant barrier. Time (28%), knowledge about the availability of services (25%), and cost (19%) were the most common barriers. Least common were stigma (14%), lack of motivation (12%), and emotional concerns (7%). Lower SIBDQ scores, being male, not being full-time employed, having Crohn disease, and being in disease remission were associated with higher PBPT scores. Conclusions Knowledge about the availability of services, time constraints, and cost are the leading barriers to psychotherapy among people with IBD. Care providers should develop a network of psychotherapists available to those with IBD. Being male and not being full-time employed may be risk factors for greater barriers. Further research is needed on barriers among groups underrepresented in this study and on novel psychotherapy solutions, like telehealth and low-cost options.
