Cultural development is one of the most significant factors for the progress of a country. Art, art education along with music and music education which are among the most important parts of art play a significant role in this development. This study aims to compare the institutions providing music education in Turkey and South Korea, and to identify their similarities and differences. In this regard, institutions and organizations which provide formal and common music education in both countries have been examined and compared. This is a qualitative study which aims to compare institutions providing music education in Turkey and South Korea, and to identify their similarities and differences. The data of the study have been collected through literature review and document analysis. The collected data have been interpreted and analyzed with content analysis method. As a result, it has been detected that music education in both countries has no significant difference in terms of structure but there are some differences in the implementation. <p>In the music education curriculum, which is implemented from 2017-2018 academic year, the directive for teaching values was prepared for the first time. In this context, the research was conducted by comparing the attitudes of pre-service music teachers towards values education in terms of some variables, which will be included in the courses of value education according to the new music education curriculum. Data collected using the values education attitude scale were analysed using t-test, Kruskal-Wallis H test, and Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Results showed that attitude scores did not change according to gender or level of parents’ education but had a significant difference according to the year students were in. Scale scores were not correlated with the amount of parents’ income or students’ GPAs. This study is crucial as it tries to determine the attitudes of pre-service music teachers who are assigned as music teachers in a few years and will conduct music lessons according to the Ministry of National Education music curriculum. Moreover, it aims to shed light on the determination of targets for values education in the training of pre-service music teachers in the institutions that train music teachers with the help of the results that this study offers.</p>

Societies have different ways of transferring the products they created within their own cultural structures by using the basic elements of music. We see that some societies use verbal transfer, some societies use written transfer, while the other societies use both means of transfer. The signs, which are the basis of music theory and the tools of written language, are called "notes", and the text created with these signs is called "musical notation". This study was conducted to examine how music education terms emerged in the historical process, the beginning of using musical notation due to the need for notes among Turkish people, and the creation and development process of terms used in music education in Turkey. For this purpose, the development and dissemination of music theory from past to present were examined by a literature review, and the different opinions and historical information found in the literature were presented together. Also, the introduction of Classical Western Music to Turkish people, their interaction processes, and the changes that occurred regarding the musical sense as a result of the Westernization movements were examined in the study. This study was designed to understand the effects of experiential learning style test on elementary music and movement education experiences of students. Despite the general music education in Turkey elementary music and movement, education was used. The students were expected to gain experience, by the way, perceiving the rhythm of the words, singing, dancing, and playing free and regular games. The rhythm studies similar to the prosody written according to the rules of classical Ottoman poetry were developed with the participants. And also the students interpreted the test results according to these experiences. At the end of the study, the rhythm studies similar to the prosody written according to the rules of classical Ottoman poetry were developed with the participants. While the rhythm of the syllables and words were studied by the applications and also the letters were provided with the correct accent and intonation during the syllables. The experiential learning style test was used to understand how the students affected their elementary music and movement education experiences. And also the students interpreted the test results according to these experiences.

The problem of this study is determining what types of studies involving mobile technology in the field of music education are carried out in Turkey and the analysis of these studies. The main objective of the study is to evaluate the mobile technology studies conducted in the field of music education in Turkey. The data obtained in the study were visualised using tables and the answers to the research questions were sought. From the data obtained in the study, it was observed that there were no scientific publications about mobile technologies in the music field before 2004. In line with these findings, it can be said that the number of academic studies on mobile technologies in music education has increased gradually in recent years. It has been suggested to increase the number of these studies and to implement music education programmes where music education processes are carried out with modern learning models.     Keywords: Mobile learning, mobile technologies, music education, academic studies, Turkey.

The experience of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide has caused education to be carried out through distance learning. Due to this situation, flute instructors faced many difficulties in instrument training, which had to be done remotely in professional music education institutions. A research was conducted to determine the training and examination processes of the instructors for flute education, their experiences, readiness for online education, negativities, and solutions during the pandemic process. Convergent parallel design, one of the mixed research methods, was used in the study. The study group consists of 22 flute instructors who work in different professional music education institutions in Turkey. An open- and close-ended questionnaire was used as a data collection tool. It was revealed that flute instructors conducted classes in different ways during the pandemic, they had to make their evaluations mostly individually, and they had many difficulties due to the internet and the applications used. As a result of the research in order for online flute training to be more effective, it was recommended that both instructor communication be more active and trainers receive training that will contribute to their professional development in online education.
